hohto
and to the guy who mentioned burzum. he is terrible. hes the msot racist person. he refuses to use guitars cause its a "n----" instrument. that is sooooo messd up. And your point is? It doesn't change the fact that he creates great music. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm

Show me a part of the lyrics of Burzum where there's even slight racism. I'd truely like to see that. Have you even listened to it? edit: You can find the lyrics from http://www.darklyrics.com/b/burzum.html I know what Varg has said of guitars, but he actually is a pretty talented guitarist. Listen to "War" for example. Not typical Burzum, but you can hear guitars there. Also, past the few years Vikernes has moved more to paganism than neonazism. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm

While he was? He has been in prison since 1993 and only was free for a couple of days when he escaped. He stabbed Euronymous (should ring bells) to death and was also charged (even tho he denied them) for church arsons. I don't know what the hell have you read, but his first cd's where recorded before he was jailed and the rest when he's in jail. And you still didn't give an answer to my lyric question. Where do you see racism? You don't see? Wow, maybe because there aren't any. I gave you the link, just find the parts that are racistic. Personally I see those lyrics as a perfect example of lyrics where he challenges the listener (or reader) to think with your own brains. He also has something to say there. While we may believe our world - our reality to be that is - is but one manifestation of the essence Other planes lie beyond the reach of normal sense and common roads But they are no less real than what we see or touch or feel Denied by the blind church 'cause these are not the words of God - the same God that burnt the knowing I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
moopymitchell182
If your into the early 80's infulencial (sp?) stuff then you cant go past early metallica, iron maiden etc. I like bullet for my valentine but i dont know if thats what your looking for.yeah, bullet for my valentine is pretty good. i spent 40 bucks ordering their EP from the UK. i like slipknot and marilyn manson too... dunno if manson is considered metal, i think hes more industrial

Question by Peter Vishnakov from St.-Petersburg, Russia: When You stopped playing metal-related music You explained that the reason was that metal music has its roots in negro music. That is why the last two Burzum albums were composed on synthesizer? "I am able to see the link between classical music and some metal music, but my main objection was and is really that the culture following in the footsteps of metal music is "Negro". The "metal heads" tend to behave like a bunch of "White [racist term]s", so to speak, with their sex, drugs and rock'n'roll culture." in this statment he clearly uses a racial slur, and denounces african american culture using stereotypical infomation. if its not apparent to you that he is saying these things in a negative light...he is . he expressed many times that the metal scene is clouded with a rockstar mentality, and that it is not "true" and needs to be changed. "I am able to see the link between classical music and some metal music, but my main objection was and is really that the culture following in the footsteps of metal music is "Negro". Do you even read what I write? At the post you just quoted I said that I know what he has said. I'll quote a bit of you now: and i dont wanan listen to it if i has lyrics liek that. This is the 3rd time I ask you that. Where do you see racism at his lyrics? And, is it racism if you love your own race and culture? Varg has made (his latest albums) music that's about the Norwegian/Germanic gods. At least I wouldn't do that music with negro (slap me if you want, negro and nig.. aren't the same) instruments? Basically that's the same as doing marrying your own sister; might look the same but it isn't right. What's your point on that African American thing? What I know, guitar was found a lot before America. Also the "rockstar spirit" has spreat all over the world and Varg had some grudges with Swedish bands. I don't know what's your problem but you don't seem to understand what you read. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm
Destinynight
Trivium and Atreyu are great metal bands. Lipgloss and Black by Atreyu and Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr by Trivium are both really great songs. Iron Maiden have awsome lyrics but arnt heavy like todays metal bands. Trivium and Atreyu are Metalcore. Iron Maiden is True Metal. Desti is Back (H)

ManicThrasher
Yuck. Being the self respecting metal fanatic that I am, I'm saddened by what I see being recommended here. Most aren't metal, and when they are they are mostley garbage. Thread maker: It seems you are into the the new style of german power metal. That's cool, although I dont really like it. If you like bands such as those, though, you need to check out the undisputed masters of their school: Helloween. They arguably started that sound with Keepers of the Seven keys Pt 1 and made a master piece with pt II. Download 'I Want Out' 'Keeper Of The Seven Keys' 'Halloween' and say... 'Victim of Fate'. Those songs will give you an idea of how power metal should be played. Also, if you like the more progressive stuff check out the masters of 'prog power metal': Fates Warning. Their albums 'The Spectre Within', 'Awaken The Guardian' and 'No Exit' are all classics, not to mention top quality. They'd blow stratovarius out of the water any day. Other mentions: Grave Digger - Rebellion, Running Wild - Riding The Storm. Hell, ill give you my email and we shall talk further! You're on the right track dude, keep on the metal path! There's nothing better.
