Well that's my belief and I'm educated enough and have enough experience to 'know better'. The idea that people are naturally altruistic and its political implications has existed in asia since the period of warring states (500BC) and its not going away.

I gather that your ideal country would be run by communists.

How would your country compete with the free market in the world? How are you going to save capital from fleeing the country? How are you going to battle inflation?

How about us that want to choose where our money goes? How about us that don't believe in an all powerful government?

The less you tax the rich, the more they spend on goods and services, the more jobs they create. OR, the more they give to charities.

I would gold plate everything in my house, and then flip a coin for the rest of the budget. Like a true australian politician.

Nice take, fairly accurate given the pay rises and cushy bonuses they give each other, even if they haven't done anything (eg: a pay rise for their proposals which are yet to be acted on due to having been in office for less than a week *cough*logan city*cough*). But seriously tho, health and education. the majority of other things can take a back seat. Oh, and harden up on immigration.

First off all, a donation to a religious organization should not be considered a donation. I'm interested in the article but would appreciate it if you could provide an alternate source. I don't participate in the delusion that FOX is anything but the communications arm of the Republican party.

Alright, but you don't have all the facts. My church sponsors the only hospital in Duval, Haiti. I've payed money to send our doctors overseas to Haiti so the poorest people on this side of the planet can receive *free* medical treatment. This happened before the earthquake. If I gave my money to the UN for Haiti, they would've used it to rent out a cruise ship for their "volunteers".

Anyhow, I think I want to volunteer for the UN in haiti. Seems nice to be able to live on a cruise ship for $20 a night... spend a few hours a day shifting rubble... then back on the love boat!

The inflation rate decreased to less than 4.4%. Family income rose 12%.

 

We are now keeping the peace. We drew the line in Grenada, Libya, Afghanistan, and the Persian Gulf, and no countries have fallen to communism during the Reagan era.

 

The U.S. military was refurbished and strengthened.

 

People from other nations are flocking to America to follow our example. Our principles of civil and economic freedom are now being copied all over the world.

Dude, WTF! He was an impressive leader, I've done a lot of reading about him, but his administration was a massive failure! It was more incompetent than Bush's: it just did less damage.
