Purpose of the Strange Power

Featured Replies

So aside from hype, what did the strange power actually do? I still have yet to see what it had to do with dungeoneering, and i'm level 60 dung. I mean there is no description of why it affected us or what it even was. Any information?

it was probably Bilrach unleashing whatever was locked at the bottom of the dungeon (the dragon kin)

we'll probably not figure out for sure until someone reaches lvl 120 dung and batch 2 is released.

Or not even until the first Dungeoneering based quest is released.

Thats quite a big "probably" We dont know for sure- it might have just been to distract players and point us towards daemonhiem? as an early warning for something, and to get the rs players thinking- I know for a fact that it got me interested in the mysteries of runescape, and also remebmer MMG's anogram- "Acolyte until" (I can't tell you) this was made to make people think, so to be honest, jagex was just messing us around, getting us to think!

Tl;dr: Got people to think.

Like Morionic said, The origins/purpose of the strange power likely won't be discovered until the second part of Dungeoneering is released. Given that only half of Bilrach's notes can be obtained at the moment there is obviously much more that we are going to find out about the nature of Daemonheim.

From what I understand there's 3 batches so batch 2 wont reveal all just to mid 90 content, I could be mistaken though

Hmm, there are about 5 new bosses and about 5 small unique monsters in the cache that are currently not in game.

That plus rest of the primal weapons and armor.

Then also new rewards like the shadow cloak* and the 3 other necklaces that are currently unknown.

Plus new floors would possibly cover batch 2.

But then batch 3?

Sounds interesting.

* Shadow cloak was mentioned in one of the text you get in the dungeon and also a picture of a light purple cloak in the cache.

They mention 2 themes Chaotic and Warped are those 2 seperate batches or all in one batch, I realise players will say well look at summon that was 2 parts but that might not be the case here

smellysockssigbyblfazer.png

Chaotic and warped feels like a pretty deep floor of Daemonheim.

If there will be 2 more batches then it feels like those floors are going to be the bottom ones.

They sure sound like 80+ dungeoneering floors.

But a 2nd batch feels like enough. I mean, they got so much already, maybe they can't think of more things to add.

one of the journals shows thok or bilrach or someone reaching the bottom and it said something along the lines of

"ive finaly found whats at the bottom, something powerful enough to emit its power across planes" meaning something powerful enough to release a surge of "power" across runescape

i personaly hope this boss isnt a [kitty] like the rest of the bosses are, seriously not 1 single boss is high lvl or hard, in 5 man 130+ this better be lvl 700+ and tough

i dont mean loads of annyoing effects, but abilitys that make it harder like nomads differant attack, not annoying like plane freezer or stomp

A mix of power of the Corporeal beast, intelligence of a Tormented demon and the skill of Nomad.

Not just wack at it all the time. More tactics involved requiring all the teammates to work together would be sweet.

I want a prayer switching boss that hits all players at once

edit - pretty much what kramp says, but a Jad an Corp hybrid that hits all prayers would be awesome lol

smellysockssigbyblfazer.png

I don't know about that boss idea. It takes long enough to get through the floor to only lose 10% + dying to a boss

don't suppose you have a QFC or something? :D

To get people all hyped up, and then reveal a minigame was behind it.

Sharing images from the cache (reverse engineering of the game applet, basically) is strictly forbidden by Jagex, so no, he can't.

Your argument is new and clever. It's actually none of those things, so please post it on RSOF and leave this community for mature discussion.

they were all over the screenshots thread for awhile :---)

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

As mentioned in the journals, it is the power that lifted Daemonheim into this plane.

That's the only definition I can think of now.

But are we "allowed" to view the pictures ourself?

If anyone would care to tell me how it's done, it would be appreciated.

We can't control what you do, but we highly discourage any reverse engineering.
