Nope, Dusty was pummeled after our attack, except Africa and his mainland, he had no other land left. With just one attack we coulda broken through his mainland, and Africa would have been easy to take.

 

Btw, that wasn't really an alliance on our part, it was just we all wanted something so we decided to attack together, I am really only an ally to Japan and Iran.

 

Also, if we coulda held of Doom's attacks long enough, after you were dead, which woulda happened within 3 years max, all attention could have been diverted to her and we probably woulda beat her too.

 

Dusty wasn't some super tacticious person, our first attack was successful by change, our second attack was because we still didn't work out tactics and our third attack was fully sucessful and that was cause we finally let someone take command.

You took half of Arabia and part of Turkey. I still had all the land the had my industrial capacity.

 

It's like if Russia were to invade Canada and take Canada's northern lands and claim they're winning. That land is largely wasteland anyways, even if it does make you look larger to have it on the map.

 

3 years max. Mk. Why not go full bore posturing and say 1 year max? And I doubt you guys could beat Doom. All she'd need to do is block the Suez Canal and the Gibraltar straits and she'd be completely shielded.

Also at the decade end, you woulda had like 60% of your original IAG left. Thats quite a big hit, but then near the end of the decade your allies intervened and saved your [wagon].

Hence forth please discontinue the conversation on this topic. This topic was made regarding administrators and any queries you may have (as I said in my prior post), if you wish to discuss a game, then create/use another thread.

Firstly, apologises for disappearing for the last three days. The 6 hour journey back home turned into a two day journey after the car broke down on the M4 (A highway for the Americans amongst us). Followed by my computer's DNS(or something) failing...basically I was connected, but couldn't use MSN or the Internet....After playing for 6 hours with the darned thing I booted up Safari, which worked, magically, got instructructions and flushed the DNS(whatever the means)...and here we are.

 

Anywho, I think the summery of everything that has been posted is that:

Knowing the Admin is there and interested is the first step, but unless there is something to pull us all together, we will remain two or three groups, divided by our differing interests.

 

 

 

 

However, this is their thread, so they set the 'rules' and if they say no off-topic posting then please respect the rules.

Not necessarily. Post count is disabled in several forums (two examples being Forum Games and Rate This). We disabled post count here because we decided that the forum is more similar to Forum Games than a forum like General Discussions or Off-Topic. Or, if you want a better example of why it was disabled, read some of the above posts ;)

And it's pretty offensive that our posts are no longer considered worthy.... A vast majority of our posts are in dungeoneering, which has maybe 20 posts offtopic in all 800 pages!

 

Hegemony has maybe 1 in 30 off-topic posts.

 

And in all honesty, I would never have noticed this change unless someone mentioned it. Now that I know, I'm offended.

Indeed. Most of our posts involve multiple sentences, so the substance (length of posts) is more or less that of the Off-Topic board.

 

Also, we put thought and creativity into our posts. I think I remember you admiring us for our stories that we have on here, Das? It doesn't bloody seem that way, man.

If post's were considered "unworthy" they would not be in public view, the casual conversation format of this forum and laid back atmosphere where role play and banter seamlessly flow interchangeably was the major catalyst for making this change.

 

While I admire the roleplay, I also admire the atmosphere in forum games and the community there, my feelings on the community and their love for roleplay does not influence my feelings toward trying to keep post count from being "inflated"
