Castle Wars makes me want to die

Ticket reward rate should be doubled now that it's actually possible to lose tickets by spending them on bogus consumables (you practically always spend more than you make).

like 4 for a win, 3 for a draw and 2 for a loss. The sheer ammount of time you have to dedicate to the game for good rewards is just ludicrous. I mean COMON over 1200 hours (50 days) of WINNING STREAK for the profound set?! My account only has a little over 100 days of gameplay and that accumulated over 7 freaking years.

It would be so sweet for all the people who've played countless cwars games already, all your previous wins would be doubled, and all your countless losses would be compensated. That is assuming that the database keeps track of every account's minigame history, which I'm sure it does.

IF, and only IF, those who have tickets already get the benefit (because I know I wouldn't be the only one upset if it got easier but we didn't get repaid) I would whole-hearty agree with you.

Even if you don't buy the consumables, its still grossly unfair that you leave with nothing after wasteing 20 minutes if you lose. Not to mention that the greater variety of rather expensive rewards pretty much warrants an adjustment to the ticket-rate.

Before the update things were simple:

Red cwars armor? Yeah that was for the p2p newbies who wanted to look cool in non-member and lie about it being dragon plate. Easy to get.

23 tickets = roughly 8 hours (opportunity cost = 1mil-8mil wasted)

White cwars armor? For the people who loved the game, but played casually - it was quite possible for a normal person to obtain, I had the top and legs.

230 tickets = roughly 80 hours (opportunity cost = 10mil-80mil wasted)

Gold cwars armor? Now we cross the threshold, cwars no-lifers only.

2300 tickets = roughly 800 hours (opportunity cost = 100mil-800mil wasted... probably a few 99s as well)

But now there's a level of armor above this?! Is Jagex INSANE?!

Now... adjusting the ticket rate + compensation to historical victories/losses would cut these massive numbers down to something very reasonable. Players would average 60 tickets per 20 matches, instead of 20 tickets per 20 matches. It cuts dedication time and opportunity cost to 1/3.

Pretty much. Whichever team has the high leveled veterans of cwars always wins. That and the high leveled ancient mages. I would also not let people from a team carry their own flag...pick it up and it goes back to the base. Ruins the game.

But yeah, ticket acquisition needs to increase in speed

I know where you are coming from. I wish i could have the best armor to but i have a feeling that nothing is going to change. Jagex doesn't care how much time it takes to get it. People will still go for it and some people will still get it. Normal people like us will never have anything like that.

I don't think you fully understand the magnitude of the insulting ridiculousness.

Obtaining a full set of profound armor is probably THE most difficult achievement in runescape as things stand and wrongly so (cwars isn't a test of skill, it is a test of luck and free time). Yet its stats are only equivilant to rune and the special effect is limited to castle wars, a game you would be hopelessly tired of by the time you get your hands on it. Does that justify wasteing upwards of 1 billion gp and a good portion of your actual existence? (almost 0.2% of your entire life, assuming you live to 80, you probably wont if you're adamant to spend that much time on your [wagon]. That is a MASSIVE portion of time wasted on a single minigame that doesn't really contribute much to the game as a whole.). You could even start factoring in the monetary cost of running your computer/router for that long.

Think about it, a full set of void doesn't take anywhere near that sort of time to acquire and it is many times more useful. Look at its history, Jagex adjusted the points rate for that minigame, why not castle wars? How about actually getting tickets for kills and flags. Why not? because it would make sense? bloody hell.

Insulting rediculousness?

The only thing insulting would be if they nerfed the tickets for stuff because of your crying.

It would be a travesty if they did what they did to the trouble brewing rewards to these because some noobs dont have the free time.

The stuff is all for decoration and achievement and has little impact outside of castle wars.

If you can't get it don't cry about it and ruin it for those of us that played something they thought was fun for years.

Also, stop blabbing about your opportunity cost crap because I certainly wouldn't have been playing this game to make 800mil instead of castlewars.

I would have been playing a different game altogether...

Trem, even me, an inefficient noob, could EASILY acquire multiple 99's and plenty of millions of GP in the time it would take to get that armor. It's set effect is astounding for Cwars, but you have to play to get 3850 tickets for the full profound set. Assuming you win EVERY GAME, that takes 1925 games. That's One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Twenty Five games of Cwars.

Assuming the full 20 minutes, as it's extremely rare to get the score limit, that's 38500 minutes. That's six hundred and forty two hours, or about TWENTY SEVEN DAYS. One MONTH of your life JUST to get the set. Now, consider if you win only half the time. 3850 games, 20 minutes per, works out to 77000 minutes. That's 1284 hours, or about FIFTY THREE DAYS. I have about a hundred days of play time on Runescape, amassed since around 04. I remember way past the GE and Construction, to when Rune scims were 25k and people would scam you with the old iron scim switch trick. Fifty three days is HALF the time I've ever spent playing RS.

That, my friends, is way, way, way, WAAAAYYYYY too much.

the sad thing is i have 5 or 6 friends who bought the full set of profound the day it came out. They had the tickets already sitting in their bank. They have over 5k games played.......

Edit: And a faster way to get tickets is to duo on empty worlds late at night. People just reach the score limit and collect tickets, alternating wins with a friend.

The best armor you can get is the equivalent to rune. Actually, it's WORSE. No one is going to buy it unless they want looks, you're complaining over something useless. The other higher cost rewards are also pretty much useless. Faithful shield sucks beyond belief besides the +6 prayer. The Halo's are practically useless unless you're camping something, and even then it isn't worth it. The capes are fun to show off, and the ballistas are fun to play with, but that's about it. We need better ITEMS, not ticket prices.

These rewards are impossible to attain unless you actually have the time to no-life cwars. The reason why plenty of people exist with massive piles of tickets is because they got bored with everything else, most likely being maxed out, and just default to playing cwars 24/7, they have nothing else better to do (obviously being hopelessly addicted to RS, so they can't just log off, right?).

oh, you're cool arn't you. I'm sure you'll have a hard time deflating that virtual ego of yours.

I'm totally crying; waaaaaaaaaaahhhhh

Even though your stance would be the exact opposite if you hadn't already grinded cwars up the ass. Congratulations for having superior time wasting skills.

atleast 3 for a win, 2 for a tie, 1 for a loss would be nice.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Yeah it should be exactly like soul wars tbh. 3 for win, 1 for loss. It just pisses me off that when I loose I just wasted 20 minutes of my life. Though more often than not I don't even stick around for that long if I see we're loosing badly. Sometimes I actually manage to join the other team before the end.

I do NOT think that's a good thing. You should get at least 1 ticket for a loose so less people do that.
