Is it a good idea to switch to curses berfore turmoil?

Mostly I do dungeoneer and slayer right now. Was thinking of quickly tossing a few dragon bones at my prayer for deflect melee and using curses. Was wondering if this is a good idea. I loose all my stat boosting prayers but I get a recoil effect on my protection prayers.

It just depends if you think you'll need the stat boosting prayers or not.

I'm in the same situation, and since I don't use piety or anything like that on my tasks, I prefer to use the curses. Having the slight extra damage from the deflect prayer is a lot more useful to me than having a bunch of stat boosting prayers I rarely use.

Well, the most efficient slayers will either use piety or turmoil. And, since you don't have turmoil, I would recommend pietying all your tasks.

It seems to me with curses if u can do leeches they are handy sometimes, judge on a task by task basis.

Steels are at the very end of the dungeon, there's nothing past them.

Strap on dfs and run. No need for prayer.

im not very sure, but if you get soul split it may be good(as you will use less food, which could be good in dungeoneering), but dont take my word, its just something to throw.

Neither does mage protect. Mage protect/deflect only works on LEATHER dragons (not counting KBD). Metal dragons always were and always will be unaffected by mage protect/deflect.

Steels are at the very end of the dungeon, there's nothing past them.

 

you have to run past steels if you use the agility shortcuts to abyssal demons.

For deflect melee, absolutely not. If you had Soul Split, there might be a decision to make, but upgrading your protection prayers is not worth losing Piety, especially against some of the bosses in Daemonheim.

Mage protect works on the close up version of dragonbreath. The ranged version of metal dragon breath is unaffected by mage protect and deflect.
