Opinion on Phats

So.

My question is for you to give your personal opinion.

 

I would like a red partyhat. I've wanted one since beginning and see it the only item worth paying the price it is. But I also want massive amounts of Runecrafting XP, to one day reach 200M. (Big nerd dreams, I know D:)

 

So, right now I'm ZMI'ing for xp.

So here's my question.

 

Should I:

 

A ) Continue ZMI'ing for faster XP, and get the Partyhat eventually (A couple years from now at least)

B ) Make double natures until I have enough to afford the partyhat, but giving less experience (Probably a couple months of pure Nat crafting)

I personally doubt you could get the p'hat for money only.Could try buying other items that you could use for your goal.

I'd go with the 2nd option, get the p'hat then go back to zmi.

Unfortunately, unless you've got an old friend who retired with one willing to log in for 2 minutes and sell, you're not going to be able to buy a phat for pure cash, and even with other rares to trade it will cost you nearly 3 times the G.E. rate. The hoarders/rare traders will try and get your soul in exchange for one.

 

I want to buy a white phat myself, but the more I look into it the more discouraged I get about ever having enough cash or rare trades to be able to afford one.

You'll probably need to make at least 2b gp to just buy items + junk. You'll never get that much ZMIing

Only chance you remotely have is camping for one on a G.E update, but trust me that can get boring and distressing, i've been camping a green for a week now in hopes of purchaseing a green, but so far, i have been present for 4 updates, and in them either green hasn't updated... or no phats at all have updated -.-.

you could check the graphs, so you don't sit for an update when the item you're sniping is guaranteed not to update.

Check out the graph for greens, it regualarly updates every 3 days, often 2 days but it went for 5 days today. And i didn't camp for aweek consecutively, over a spam of a month i camped the days it was expected to rise but didn't.

It's possible to camp red in GE (because i've done it and I have the attention span of a gnat). Just keep in mind that red will keep rising (even if you're camping GE) so if you want one you should get it as soon as possible. If you flip items you can leave your offers in the GE and still go RC...win/win :thumbsup:

Just curious, how many seconds after the update do you tihnk you put an offer in? :o

Agreed. But, like others said, you'll have to break into the rares market in other ways before you can make your way to a red phat.

Personally, I'd say go double nats, until you got money for phat + a few other things you might need. If you're still set on 200M exp after that, go for ZMI.

I can recall when i had a chance to buy a whole party hat set(all colors) for 20k and said no becuase its a waste of limited bank space. Anyway i had a red phat and traded it for a yellow very early on after they dropped (still have it) anyway i would do double nats and try to get massive amounts of money maybe 1billion or so and try to snipe along the way.
