75-99 Mage

Featured Replies

Hey, I've tried to research myself but all the YouTube videos are incredibly outdated or just terrible overall.

So TipIt, could you advise me how to get 75-99 mage. I have a total of roughly 78million to invest. But would prefer not to go over 20mill.

Speed is not an issue, as long as it's relative to the amount I am paying.

Thanks !

Alch to 80 Mage, Stun to 94-99. Do Stealing Creation, get the mage helms. It would cost like 5-10mil. Very fast

If you want an accurate answer, you should tell us your income.

if your income is under 1.5-2 mil gp/hour then superheat glass is very efficient for you

assuming you can cast the spell 581 times per hour you will earn:

~45k mage xp/hour

1 mil gp/hour

Sorry, do you mean

75-80 = Alch

80-94 = Stun

94-99 = Stealing Creation

My income is poor, I got lucky with drops, I won't be exceeding 75 odd million for a while.

Superheating is a little over my budget I think, Unless it would get me 99 in a matter days :)

Profit? I like the sound of that, but in comparison to the aforementioned method does the profit outweigh the time taken to get to 99?

it depends on your income

Like i said, if you make under 1.5-2 mil ish gp/hour, then yes it outweighs the time taken to 99

otherwise, no, it does not and better methods exist.

i've always found alching a good way. Depending on what you buy to alch depends on your loss. Alching yew longbows costs somewhere around 20m. It's basic to do.

Pure alching and nothing else... is like one of the worst ways to train magic

Supply and demand.

Everybody trains with alchemy (usually with bows instead of less commonly used items) because they don't have the brains to think of something better to do.

thus high demand, making alchemy a MUCH less efficient training method than less commonly known/used spells.

Mind you, getting stealing creation mage hats doesn't save you much money or time. They only halve the amount of time you're actually stunning.

An average non-combat SC game takes around 15 minutes from game start of one game to the game start of the next (so that includes lobby room stuff). Now assuming you get enough points per game for 2.2 hat recharges per game (I'm also assuming you have a lot of hats to start), that means you get 4.8 hats per hour.

Each hat offers 20k XP bonus xp, which means you're getting 96000 bonus xp from each hour of playing stealing creation.

That extra 96000 xp is worth 192k in soul runes for casting stun spells.

As you can see, you're not really saving much time or money since you're actually using that time to play SC itself. The only benefit to using the hats is to just reduce your time actually stunning, but if you want that you could just try a different spell, like superheat, humidify, or superglass make.

Plank make is not a terrible option, if you can stand it.

I think mahogany planks are no more than 3gp/xp. It's quite fast, average rates are anywhere from 120k-160k/hour (last time I did it I got around 137k at a slowish pace, kills my wrists).

Superheat gold w/ gs gaunts 100k+ magic and smithing xp/hr and at current rates it will only cost 44m (keep in mind that you get BOTH 99 smithing AND 99 magic )

Is that loss of 44mill even after you've sold the bars?

sorry to hijak the topic here, but how many superheat casts can you cast per hour on average?

If you goto the mage training arena and use the alch room you will find with practice that you can get 100k xp per hour at a cost of 2gp/xp.

I did that way back in the day when it came out to get to like 94 or 95 then pest control came out and I finished it off for free at the same rate.

You can use that soul wars place too for free xp too.

You have alot of money, I wouldn't throw it away on an easy skill like magic.

He just successfully trolled you with "courtesy" and managed to get a reaction out of you. Lol

Then he should throw it at 99 smithing and get 99 magic along the way by superheating gold
