It IS a rule, it's just not enforced

Featured Replies

I afk'ed my 99 melees and range

I never said I cared, I never said I reported people for this, I never said I don't AFK.

I'm just pointing out that it IS a rule that COULD be reported by some idiot.

Saru, I myself call people noobs, I swear a decent amount, I AFK myself, etc.

In the last year, the only reports I have made were a few at green drags with blatantly obvious bots, and one against someone who was talking incessantly about "potty" stuff, whom I asked over ten time to stop as well as a clan chat mod asking him to stop as well.

And while I think that what you do for "AFK", Saru, is completely fine, I'm just letting people know the possible danger of it.

One other thing, I only report people for botting when they don't respond to public, they don't respond to trade, don't respond to private, and act in a jerky/unnatural way that a player would not.

I am not a wannabe mod.

...I normally keep all three of those turned off/on friends. And I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Thank you for the helpful reminder.

This is the 21st century. The the only thing we still do it brush our teeth, but even so, Ke$ha has us do it with a bottle of Jack.

brb making a citizen's arrest on everyone going 1mph over the speed limit, which is most likely... everyone.

Fail Troll.

in the uk atleast you can go 5mph over the speed limit without being considered to be speeding due to the fact it is impossible to maintain a 100% steady speed and you can easily drift inbetween speed checks.

Speeding in the US is still considered breaking the law even if it's 1mph over you ignoramus. Yes the sarcasm is plentiful because I speed no more than 10 over and don't get pulled. Cops rarely even bother 5 overs.

maybe people wouldnt afk if jagex did a better job at making this game fun an interesting?

In a sense its true that people break rules but people only do so as a result of Jagex's failure to make a game that is enjoyable.

Yea i know this is just a troll post but im just throwing my opinion out there

If you play it, you obviously find it fun and interesting.

Most AFKing is not true AFKing. Most of the time when I'm "AFKing" that just means I'm playing another game or watching something on the other monitor.

True AFKing is where you set something up such that you can totally leave your computer, sleep, whatever. Autocasting air strike with -65 mage attack comes to mind. That is a bannable offense. But more than likely you would actually have to be caught by a Jmod to get banned anyway. Also they now employ a 6 hour auto logout, so if you have been logged in for a consecutive 6 hours it logs you out no matter what you're doing.

Thats the fking point.

Its a technicality, and its not actually breaking the law.

Though you do actually get points off a driving test if you go 1MPH over the speed limit, at least here in australia.

O.O

What the heck? What is the point of this post?

I afk. It's legit. I click on a rock, and I DO STUFF. Be it cleaning my room, or doing homework. NOw I'm not actually afk'ing, because the way my room is situated I'm honestly never more than 5 feet away from my desk. And when I do my homework, its at the desk as well.

But are you (ragdazzle) saying you log out when getting a drink? Going to the bathroom? I am not flaming you, so don't think I am, but I can't think of a polite way of saying this. WHO CARES. Everyone afks. Everyone. Its a fact. Now people who afk to go to mcdonalds? Yea sure botting. But people who afk while staying at least remotely near their desk? Well even if it is a rule, it shouldn't be. Here is my reasoning:

If I am fishing, and am cleaning my room (I clean my room often) when the spot changes, I lose xp. Thus I suffer the consequences of not staying at the desk. Same iwth LRC, my inventory fills up so I stop mining. I lose xp. I suffer the consequences.

The only reason why I am raging at you ragdazzle, is because you seem like the kind of person, who would report someone for botting for not talking, reporting someone for saying noob, or reporting someone for saying "i am jagex lulz."

This and more this? Thats my rant for the day. Thanks man.

99 hunting as a quest requirement

eh wat? You mean 66?

unfit for a human to train. Hunting, firemaking, firemaking alching, rc.

Hunting=laying down box traps for chinches, 66 comes quick

Firemaking=yeah, annoying, but I survived getting 74 on maples so.... also is relaxing

magic= alching is not the only way to train mage lmfao

rc=large profits for higher levels, which is the carrot on the stick

The sad thing is, people like the OP report people who can only use/see quick chat.

You mean people like you? And no, I don't think that was the point of this thread, if there is one at all.

I can't make anyone think anything is fun, I can only provide my point of view.

That is partially true, but jamflex can't be perfect

I do enjoy these skills at least a little bit. They are relaxing, and some provide me me good opportunities to talk in clan chat. As long as skills are fun to some people, AFKing and botting will be both wrong and against the rules.

In the USA, the heavy fines start at 15+ over. Thats where the points kick in also. It is quite literally a waste of money for a cop to pull over someone who is only 10 above the speed limit. The fine is too small to be worth while.

In California at least the fine is worthwhile but less then 10mph over the speed limit is hard to prove in court which is why they dont bother

Seems like both of you just proved my parallel. It's insignificant. So is afking.
