Ye Olde Hegemony

Retech

Recommended Posts

I spend 5 million on getting a silver empire started, as my research for the silver monopoly ended like 5 years ago.

I also spend 10 million on getting an explorer guild up and running.

5 Million will be kept for anything I can think of.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Weird first time I heard about Subutai was yesterday in a cracked article, then you start talking about him. This stuff always happens with things I learn, I learn it and then someone near me suddenly begins talking about it.

Great example is when I studied the first English monarch, someithng begining with A the great, then suddenly the news the next day is that they have possibly found a new first English monarch who surpasses the previously mentioned man. I was like FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

Also I ask to meet this Subutai, no armies, no traps, no killing eachother. I just want to talk to him.

Same thing happens to me all the time. And I accept the treaty as well.

irish for me

Sweet! This will make my conquest of Ireland sooo much easier!

My ships should be arriving in China right about now, anything special I need to do about that Retech? Bargaining, etc?

And my citadel fortress is also like, 2/3 done.

And my metallurgy research is completed, higher quality blades and stronger armour for all my troops.

Also, a question, how much does a trade route affect your budget?

Trade routes increases economy, which then increases budget. Trade routes now also increase relations with the nation you are trading with (if NPCs), and possibly introduce new ideas into Asia, possibly allowing you to train some European units in Asia.

I have yet to finish the eastern expansion, but I will let you know by this evening. Keep in mind the current ships that the Europeans have are only capable of bringing small parties over to Asia. If you want to bring any significant number, caravels/carracks will be needed, which require research. Ten years for caravels and five years extra for carracks, which are the upgraded version.

I am aware that caravels were not historically transportation ships, but I will still be allowing them as transportation ships anyways.

Following ross's suit caravel research is started by the nation of Bulgaria. The king of bulgaria Ivan Asen II asks to meet with the mongol lord in neutral terms. Oh and how long is the research time for the printing press?

Hehe, Cavavels are decades away. You are looking at a whole new sail design and a complete rethink of the way of building ships.

Additionally, Carracks or Gallons would be a far more useful research objective and would probably only take 5 or 10 years longer...So the efficent tyrant would do them....

Though if you are jumping 500 years worth of history you might as well create a Pycrete Island and parachute some troops into America...

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Aha, that was the ship that I was looking for. Galleons! That's what I get for not playing civilization for months.

Okay, carracks are now ten years research, galleons are five, and caravels are twenty.

Galleons = Tranport ships (replacing the caravel that I mixed it up with)

Crracks = Larger exploration ships

Caravel = Smaller exploration ships with greater range

I will work out the prices soon

*Facepalms*

In 5 years it is possible to travel to the 18th century, but it takes 20 years to get to the 15th....In other news, Dinosaurs arrived 5 hours before I powered up the machine.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

How exactly did you build a ship that could reach China (which would mean you've somehow jumped ahead 400 years in shipbuilding technology overnight)?

Wow, not only is my castle not on the map, but my nation ain't even in the list.

Wow, not only have you not added it yourself (I'm not your god damn mother), but you haven't ever asked Retech to add your nation to the list either.

Okay, I could use some help here. I just checked wikipedia for all three ships, but it keeps confusing me because I get the centuries mixed up. Could someone basically give a list with oldest to newest, and what their primary function was?

Carracks are bigger better caravels. But they take half the time? The research time should be measured in decades, not years.

Or, have a discovery unlock them for everyone once we actually need it.
