Here's something everyone should know about the Asian kingdoms:

 

Japan is by far the most stable and wealthiest. It has a large royal family too. Hard to influence though.

China is beginning to utilize its land and population, and its royal family is smaller because most were killed off by the Mongols. They're probaly the easiest to influence.

Khmer Empire is smaller and controls South-east Asia, but controls many raw materials.

Sultanate of something based in Indonesia is even smaller and is rather instable due to Muslim rebellions, but it's an all rounder. Decently rich, many raw materials, and not too hard to influence.

India is split into various factions. It has the greatest population and could gain great power if unified, but power is held by local rulers rather than a single emporer. This means you can influence parts of the country, but risk alienating other parts.

 

Influence can come about by royal marriages, sending missionaries (can backfire), sending military advisors to oversee their army, and trade.

Yeah... hey retech for my economic venture would it be a decent idea to roll a six sided dice to decide how many economic points I get out of it?

Any chance I could get this answered? (The venture that I put 2 million gold into)

What would it cost to establish a trade route from Greenland to Iceland to Denmark and what would the benefits be?

 

Okay, I basically replaced the old trading system for overseas routes. You can task cogs to the route (remember cogs need maintanance), but it causes your economy to increase which then increases your budget. Also, your colony in Greenland would grow faster and settlers would probaly be encouraged to move there.

I figured out it's the Sultan of Johor. IRC or PM when we're both on, either one would work.

Well you said I had 50 cogs free of charge.

 

Does Greenland cost any cogs?

 

I set up a trade rotue with Japan, and one with the Sultane, both consisting of 10 cogs. So that's 20 cogs used up.

 

If Greenland costs any cogs, I go and colonise any free land available with another 10 cogs. They carry a lot of building material and people.
