I begin research on the weather, to reduce the chances of us sailing during a storm or such.

 

My navy research is ongoing to improve cogs so they crash less and can transport more.

 

There are talks of France of a navy school opening up so that captains of vessels now how to deal with ships properly.

 

I'm going to try reduce the chance of freak natural accidents by as much as possible.

Malaria isn't much of a problem in southern SA, that's why there were european colonies there in real life. It's also in a good position based on latitude to grow european crops, which makes it the best spot in Africa.

He rescinded that decision once he realized Protestantism wouldn't exist for another 400 years. Or he didn't want the Pope mad while there were mongorians on his doorstep. I can't remember.

Also, I've been thinking about converting Iceland to Christianity. However, I still want to maintain order, quality, and calm among my citizenry and military alike. Also, I'm not too interested in serving the pope.

It wont be hard for France to shift back, we probably still have some heavy believers amongst our ranks cause there was no punishment for believing in Christianity, and infact it was never abolished, I just changed the state religion :P.
