What is the point of having a high cooking level?

Featured Replies

total levels+xp, lower burn rate.

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Getting a lame looking cape. Not much really.

Lower burn rate.

Which is extremely useful in dungeoneering.

i never cared much about cooking levels, until dunge came along - fish in the dungeon can be pretty hard to cook otherwise

ok, well I dont do dungeoneering, I dont get it, but then again I NEVER do anything in teams, and didnt get far alone. And for lower burn rates at 94 you stop burning sharks with cooking gloves, so I dont care about burn rater after that

Along with lower burn rates of high end foods and dungeoneering bonuses, you also get more cheese per wheel

More cheese. Ahhhh yeeeeaaahhh.

this is oh so very true

the skill ain't just for capes fools

when you're down on your knees in the dirt

and behind every door monsters lurk

you're gonna wish you took the time

to raise your skill to level 99

I have all the 99s, and have been playing since 2001. Comped 4/30/15

What about Rocktails, way better than sharks as a food source and money source.

Just a small comment on the whole cooking in dungeoneering thing: While a high cooking level is definitely important, the log type is also a pretty significant factor. I've burned a whole bunch of tier 5 foods at 85 cooking because I used tier 1 logs to cook them on. Once I used tier 8 logs, I could cook tier 7-8 foods with ease.
