Napoleonic Hegemony

Announcing the World's Fair, celebrating technological innovation and the exquisite culture of Europe. It will be held in a new part of Saint Petersburg, where each nation will have the chance to set up its own exhibit, showing its unique culture and cuisine. This is not a political event, and no soldiers will be allowed (except for maybe ten "show" soldiers or something).

The event will take place in the 1790s, probaly around 1795.

Britain states that it is weird that the technologically impaired Russia would hold such an event when nations like Prussia or Italy who have exceeded in technological advancement should be holding the event. On the contrary, Britain is keen to attend the event, but will only be spectating.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Prussia is overjoyed that Britian shall be attending a suggests that St. Petersburg is a very long way to travel for many members of the Kingdom of Great Britian, and indeed many Europeans...

Thus perhaps Britian could contribute some of its ships, surely the finest ships the Oceans know now, and ever shall know, to ferry those individuals from further afield to St. Petersburg.

That way the first and last memories of the World Fair will be those of the Glorious British Navy.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

The Royal Navy is happy about the words the HRE emperor has to say, and they gladly offer a ship or two to ferry the mainland Europeans who may find it difficult to traverse such a distance. Though it is rather a shame to see that the three decker ships that have recently been designed will not be able to be used due to budget constraints with the war in Americas, the colonial armies suffered a huge lost.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I read that fusilers main job was to protect areas or escort cannons around, that is why I soley use them for that purpose.

Nay, say it is not so, I myself recently had such war with those who seek to bring disarray to the world. Indeed their wickedness is a plight on our fair lands that must be scourged lest it does spread as did the fire from thornbushes to fields of grain as was foretold us in the Holy Book.

Thus I cannot, as Protector of the Holy Roman Empire, stand by while a fellow King would be ravaged by those servents of chaos, I feel so moved me that I am compelled to commission the HMS Hannover, the first of the three deck ships. Though I fear, though we Prussians may march in our ranks with the Iron Will, I quaff at the notion that ships may ever be made of Iron. Only those of the Unshakable Island Nation, those whom none may dare oppose in open sea, are fit to hold the great honour of the first three deck ship - Indeed, though I have the greatest faith in my carpenters, they themselves inform me that it is the British who stand above them when it comes to the art of ship building.

So I yield the sum of 1,350,000 Ducats to your finest shipbuilder, and call upon your most experianced crews to be stationed on the HMS Hannover, so that your Kingdom, and your friends, on the continent shall never need fear from the sea, what they no longer fear from the land.

His Royal Majesty and Protector,

King Frederick II

I totally forgot about the 10% thing.

The HMS Hannover is scheduled to be built, and will be finished in time for the world fair. It will be a symbol of two nations strong bond. The ship is to be a multi national ship, controlled by Prussian and British forces.

Prussian sailors are also offered a place in British naval academies.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

What exactly is the difference between Fusiliers and Line Infantry?

Wikipedia says they were basically the same.

Line infantry came about in the late 17th century/early 18th century, whereas Fusiliers were a napoleonic unit designation. Basically though, they're the same. Fusiliers just have slightly better training.

One would imagine it was some kind of a plan, delievered in a roleplaying kind of a way, with an aire of secrecy about it...perhaps more subtle than 'Don't tell anyone about this'...

Traditionally, if I deliever a plan in any kind of an espionage-y way, I put a meta-comment at the end.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I’m dead tried today so no flowery reports, just the meat of it.

British attack on the USA

Naval:

-British fleet split in half, moves to attack American east coast

-1st Squadron of the British Navy sights American transport ships heading towards GB, breaks off their attack to pursue, engages and finds only skeleton crews with no troops (1st squadron out of the round along with half the Army of the Redcoats they were transporting, making their way back for next round)

-2nd squadron finds no resistance, begins bombarding American coastal cities near the Florida coast, and unloads the other half of the Army of the Redcoats.

Land:

-Canada Theater – Half the Colonial Army attacks from Eastern Canada into America, American Coffee Brigade retreats, is pursued. American Coffee Brigade links up with the American Tea Brigade and the two combined soundly trounce the halved Colonial Army at the Battle of Michigan and chase it back up to Eastern Canada.

Result – Battle of Michigan: Victory for America

Strength: 25,000 + American troops vs 11,000 British

Casualties:

Britain: 3,000 Line infantry, 1,000 Fusiliers

USA: 3,000 Line infantry

-Florida Theater- Half the British Colonial Army attacks the American Revolutionary Army in Florida. Battle seems to be going badly for the British until half the Army of the Redcoats march onto the field and attack the American army and drive it back into American territory. Provinces in the area return to British control.

Result – Battle of Florida: Victory for Great Britain

Strength: 22,000 + British soldiers vs 14,000 Americans

Casualties:

Britain: 2,000 Line infantry, 1,000 Lancers

America: 3,000 Fusiliers, 1,000 Line infantry, 2,000 Skirmishers

Other:

British spy manages to assassinate Thomas Jefferson before he is captured and hanged. Next round morale reduced for America.

Victor of Round: Britain by a hair.

THOMAS JEFFERSON!

He idealized the independent yeoman farmer as exemplar of republican virtues, distrusted cities and financiers, and favored states' rights and a strictly limited federal government. Jefferson supported the separation of church and state[4] and was the author of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom (1779, 1786).

When President John F. Kennedy welcomed 49 Nobel Prize winners to the White House in 1962 he said, "I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent and of human knowledge that has ever been gathered together at the White House – with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."

Annoyed me.

Hehe I created a Triangle

Anywho. King Frederick has taken to wearing a black armband for the rest of the year.

King Frederick also makes a powerful speech condemning the continued war.

The main focus of the speech is on how overseas empires cause nothing but suffering for their mother country. He apportions most of the blame to America, since a treaty was already signed when they sought alliance with Spain to attack the British with no reasonable justification for war.

He finally calls for an end to hostilities before more innocents are killed.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Option A

Oh and poor Jefferson no 2$ bill for you.

The British King replies to the HRE Emperors view.

"Grand Emperor, the war in the Americas has turned into a long and bloody one, but for what they did to our former colonial army, we British will pay in blood!"

It's a REALLY big shaft.

This quote is spread among the British states.. How can they want to live under a leader who sees them only as objects to be spent and thrown away?..
