Putting him on trial is just roleplay nothingness. The result of the trial will be:

-Execution

-Abdication & Letting him live in some French chateu out in the middle of nowhere

-Exile

 

So, pretty much the same options on the random event.

What next? I think it would be interesting to see an atheistic France (as it was for a little bit after the Revolution), but I assume you are going with Napoleon anyway. If you do that, then France will become Catholic again. I think that it would mix things up a little if the atheistic trend continued, causing a sort of future "French kulturkampf" against the Roman Catholic church.

On a note to Wisp (if King Louis has not yet been executed). The Netherlands offers to take the deposed king into custody so as to remove him from the stage of France. They also implore the French not to harm the Prince or the queen and to send them as well.

Russia consults France against sending King Louis to the Netherlands, as they seem to be cooking up some sort of orgy with all these exiled aristocrats.

The Netherlands replies that they should at least send the prince and possibly the queen because "It is an ill deed to execute a boy for the crimes of his father no matter who if he is a prince or a pauper".
