Obtaurian
Working on it, a sec. Will edit soon. First note: you seem to misunderstand me. I was talking about prossy + sw cape, not fire cape. Using a proselyte top with a SW cape is pointless, FYI. You miss out on +4 strength to save a few hundred GP. Not worth it. In regards to your edit above, why use 3.5 hours as an estimate for the time it takes to get a torso? I've said many times that it's less than 2 hours. Anyway, slayer experience gained must be considered in the calculations. As the slowest skill in the game, slayer experience is worth quite a bit. I can tell you that using the best gear, turmoil, extremes/overloads, a cannon, and a rapier does not require that one makes 4M an hour. That figure baffles me. Even if you went down to a +15 prayer bonus (not unreasonable), you wouldn't even come close to spending 4M an hour slaying. While it's true that a BCP can be resold, the starting money has to come from somewhere. It's still faster to obtain and use a torso. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off. Quyneax
I'm saying if you can. Meaning it's apparently worth it if you're maxed with turm/ext/rapier. But not if you're just starting out. Replying to your edit above: I edited the statement before I read your answer, it's true torso is as good or better (dependant on your flip). I didn't mean that you'd be using 4m/hr. I meant that if you save 1.8m on prayer pots, that's approximately half an hour time saved (rather little I must say). This leaves 3.5 hours of the 4 hours saved by using a torso to be used to obtain the torso. Quyneax
We would be talking about such a person because they exist, and benefit from these efficiency arguments. It's because 90% of the time, when someone asks for money and combat training advice, he'll be told to go slaying even if they're not maxed. Sure they exist, but why would we bring them up in a discussion about HIGH LEVEL slaying methods? That's like saying that a level 40 woodcutter should cut and drop teaks with an adze for the fastest experience rates. It just doesn't apply. EDIT: This is getting way off topic. Sephy_
Have you tried chaosdwarf battlefield? All it takes is is 43+ prayer and a ton of pray pots. :P Yes I know the chance for a pick is slim but the cannons usually add up and I can usually make 0.5-1m a hour with those. It's a bit luck based though so not as guranteed profit as skilling but I find it hell of a more fun. (Probably not a good idea to camp there for the whole 30M but just something to give you a change from whatever you are doing) (Go buy that bcp if you really want it, its pricey but definetly not a bad armor and you can always sell it back if you need more money.) Quyneax
I never said 'high level' slaying methods . Please don't change the argument; mine was that prossy top is better, yours that torso is better. The conclusion: it's worth using, but not getting, if you're a lower levelled player. At some point there comes a time it's efficient to get one as well. I'd also like to point out you can do this with 100 hours and that leaves you with 1.75 or 1 hour to obtain a torso... not exactly nice limits. 100 hours of PURE slaying is already 2-3m xp, and only on melee (not counting things you'd range). So torso is for people not getting BCP (quite reasonable but it seems uncommon tbh) before 85ish slayer. Unless my xp/hr figures are all wrong (which I'm sure is the case, please provide your estimates?). More edit: Meaning to demonstrate it's a sliding scale,I couldn't bother finding the number of hours where torso becomes undoubtedly better, but it's somehwere around 85ish slayer (starting from 1) I think. Replying to the edit:EDIT: This is getting way off topic. Yes it is... apologies to the OP for that. Darkkalphite
Thanks for the replies guys. You really got me thinking, Barrows might solve all of my problems, not needing to worry anymore about getting Bandos+DFS. Which sets do you suggest I get? (When I do Combat it's almost always slay, except for the odd boss or Cave Horrors trip). Also any ideas on prayer, should I wait untill D bones/ Frost bones crash? On a sidenote: I really don't see me getting Fire Cape, sorry =/ And apologies accepted ;) On The Road To Graardor.

That'll cover most of your slaying needs until you get to ice wyrms. Use that with a SW cape or Ardougne cape 3 and 10% strength prayer. That's an efficient, cheap slayer setup. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Well, any melee top works really, but I think dh looks best xD The skirt has good def and a prayer bonus, so you cant replace it. You dont need a helmet or weapon, since you should be using a nietznot if not on slayer, a full slayer helm if on slayer, and a whip + defender all the time. This holds true unless you want to get a full dh set for killing monkeys or something with low hp.

Darkkalphite
Okay so I sold Tassets, BSS and now have 29m. What Armour should I buy/Which skills levels should I get. On The Road To Graardor.
Elf Spice
Buy Verac's plateskirt and get a rune defender. Build an armor stand in your POH if you haven't already. Try spending a little on supplies to tackle Nomad. With the money left over you could buy 1.5m prayer xp or 2m herb xp, give or take. You could even consider downgrading your fury to a glory but that's a bit extreme.

Elf Spice
You want a war tortoise for the extra supplies, but you also want your kyatt (with about 100 ambush scrolls) as early in the battle as possible. So you'd switch out familiars the first time Nomad clones himself, as this gives you a full minute to heal, take bob, dismiss, summon kyatt, and set left click option to special attack.
