Darkkalphite
Okay so lately making money really feels like a pain =/ I get bored way too quickly and I am getting quite desperate for some cash. ATM I have 10M (2M+ in Miscellania). I'm looking into If I can find a fun way to make money, it doesn't have too make really much money - it just needs to be fun (or both! :P). I've tried TD's but I failed, I've tried GWD but I failed. The only things which really seem to last for a while are Slayer&Fish. I've also tried camping Cave Horrors but to no succes. My combat skills are: 81 Atk, 85 Str, 80 Def, 85 HP, 71 Prayer, 82 Ranged, 77 Magic, 70 Summoning Some other skills which may be of interest:99 Woodcutting, 77 Fishing, 75 Slayer, 64 Hunt, 67 Craft, 64 Mining, 49 Dungeoneering,.... I have Bandos Tassets, Full Void(melee/ranged), fighter torso, whip, fury, Dragon boots, Skill Cape, Barrow Gloves, Dharok Plate, Blessed Spirit shield.Oh and I only need to do 5 more quests for quest cape (which includes nomad =/)I'm really clueless atm. I would like some people who can help me, even help me with learning me how to TD/GWD/... I just want BCP or DFS so badly =/ I hope you can help me, I would be delighted if you would give me some quick tips =D On The Road To Graardor. Quyneax
DON'T get dfs, if it kills your bank that badly (or at all, really, unless you tank GWD a lot). Don't get bcp either, unless you really hate your torso or something. I'd personally pick up farming, do all your dailies, sell tassets (get Verac's skirt), and slay to 90 melees/ranged while spending all cash you have on 95 prayer. Then try again at TD's. You could also train to 90 magic and mage Rex which is more exciting than AZ's/slayer (though if it gets exciting it may mean you're doing it wrong :)). Quyneax
Careful with deaths, they're dropping atm. Earths and waters are worth it too, I looked up the link once again: dailies. Another edit: You can buy 75% of a shop's stock of deaths and still make a profit right now. geesch
Do dailies, farm, flip (if you know how to do it well - i don't...), and runecraft. I might be biased about rcing, but it has funded all my skills and bank. I would also sell your tassies, and change your goals. bandos is more of a luxury item. I personally do not have either, and I am doing just fine. A dh plate and verac skirt are what i use. Also, there isnt much use to a BSS. An obby shield or rune defender will take its place and leave it inferior in just about any situation. I suggest using your cash to raise your skills. With higher skills, you unlock better money making abilities, so that you can THEN get luxury items :)
Obtaurian
You know what's much more useful than full Bandos and a DFS, wont degrade, and will always help in every combat situation? Turmoil. For the love of Zaros, please do not make the mistake of buying full Bandos at such a low combat level and without having both turmoil and overloads first. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off. geesch
And on the topic of degradation, just a note about those who think its expensive to repair. I can repair a full set of any armour from completely broken for about 180k, and im not even 99 smithing. It takes 15 hours to reach that stage. So, up until the point of where you spend more on repairs than the cost of bandos, i feel its a waste, unless you are loaded. It would take me about 4000 hours of combat with a full set of barrows on (including the helm and weapon which you should not be using) before bandos would have been a smarter choice. I hope you never reach that point.

I hope you never reach that point. Read this. Looked at my dragon platebody that I bought months ago.Compared its stats to Dharok's. Blinked a few times.Sold dragon platebody.Bought Dharok platebody and legs as well as Ahrim's robe top and bottom.?????????Profit. He's quite right though. The chump-change things you can do nowadays to pay off worn-out barrows armor is why I got a Karil's top and bottom a while ago, and my most recent purchase.I've got a very similar situation to yours Darkkalphite, I'm mainly a skiller who has no real inclination to do boss monsters and monster hunting doesn't seem that profitable. My main source of income lately has been, well, pack-ratting. I go out and collect a large quantity of some resource to get some level I want, then see what it's worth and whether or not I want to keep it.A big piece of advice I have for you is two things: 1) Check your bank. Sometimes you find piles of a resource that you, well, haven't used and had for months. That's an easy source of anywhere from 10k to 2-3mill.That pile of potions you never use may be something someone else will pay out the nose for. 2) Watch the market. For instance, sell your orange tree seeds and buy curry seeds. The way the prices were last week, I sold a large number of orange seeds, which were/are still being merched, and bought a monetarily equal value of curry seeds, but gained a lot of exp. You could just keep the cash at equal the exp if you want. This works with several skills. Play the game and have fun, money will come your way when you do what you like.Lately? I've been ranging Zogres. I might sell my ancestral bones, but I have been selling Zogre bones at 1.1k each.Is it efficient? Probably not. I'm having fun though  Which I believe is the point of this whole damn game. I may put something here eventually.

What else are you going to spend your points on? It takes two hours to get a torso if you have full penance and know what you're doing. For slayer, a torso is the second best body armor available, so it's definitely worth picking up if you can't afford (or don't want to buy) a BCP. IMO, it's worth picking up the torso, fighter hat, and penance gloves IN ADDITION to filling your penance horn. If you're having trouble finding teams, get full penance and max out your roles. World 6 is home to both pros and noobs, and the pros find each other with full penance. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Quyneax
Cause it won't be two hours (unless you're a real pro already) and it won't be speeding up tasks by more than a %. The amount of prayer potions a prossy top saves in that time is around 3m. EDIT: My post below shows it's more like a 2-2.5% increase in task speed. My bad. The amount of prayer potions a prossy top saves in that time is around 3m. Hate to break it to you, but it takes me less than two hours to get a torso. A proselyte top + fire cape has less defense and prayer than a torso + SW cape (these are the third and second best plate/cape combinations for slayer, respectively), so I don't see how your comparison to a proselyte top is at all relevant. I'd really love to see the calculations that "prove" a torso to be only worth it if you're going to spend more than 200 hours slaying. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off. Quyneax
Working on it, a sec. Will edit soon. First note: you seem to misunderstand me. I was talking about prossy + sw cape, not fire cape. OK, here I go. Seems the situation is less extreme than I thought (mainly underestimated the max hit difference of +4 str with all boosts). You are turmoiling, 1800 points per hour, 200 hours, 360k drained in total. V skirt + fury + sw cape is +21 prayer bonus. According to wiki, this gives 1/1.7 prayer used or about 211.7k.You are pietying, 2700 points per hour, 200 hours, 540k drained in total. V skirt + fury + sw cape is +21 prayer bonus. According to wiki, this gives 1/1.7 prayer used or about 317.6k. The max hit with rapier/turm/extreme strength, torso, d boots, berserker (i), rune defender, on task with 99 strength is 635. Without torso that's 623, so a tiny little under 2% more. I assume 2% faster tasks, you save 4 hrs.The max hit with whip/piety/super strength, torso, d boots, berserker, rune defender, on task with 80 strength is 413. Without torso that's 404, so a tiny little under 2,5% more. I assume 2,5% faster tasks, you save 5 hrs. Turmoil prayer drain with prossy top is 100/(196+2/3) or about 183k points (again, wiki formula). That's 28.3k less prayer used, or just over 900 doses at 99 prayer. At just over 2k per dose, that's 1.8m saved. Piety prayer drain with prossy top is also 100/(196+2/3), so 274,5k points used. 43k saved, at 24 per dose at 70 prayer, is about 1750 doses saved or 3.5m. So if you have all boosts, earn 4m/hr and you can get torso in 3.5 hrs, get torso for 200 hours of slaying. If you have less powerful combat stats (I used 80 str & 70 prayer, super pots), earn 1.2m/hr and can get a torso in 2 hrs, get torso for 200 hrs of slaying. How wrong am I? Just telling will do, I'm prepared to be wrong. (note: bcp has more advantages than torso and can be sold back so it always beats anything else (Edit: assuming you don't lose out on flipping 23ish m)) Supporter of Zaros | Quest Cape owner since 22 may 2010 | No skills below 99 | Total level 2595 | Completionist Cape owner since 17th June 2013 | Suggestions 99 summoning (18th June 2011, previously untrimmed) | 99 farming (14th July 2011) | 99 prayer (8th September 2011) | 99 constitution (10th September 2011) | 99 dungeoneering (15th November 2011) 99 ranged (28th November 2011) | 99 attack, 99 defence, 99 strength (11th December 2011) | 99 slayer (18th December 2011) | 99 magic (22nd December 2011) | 99 construction (16th March 2012) 99 herblore (22nd March 2012) | 99 firemaking (26th March 2012) | 99 cooking (2nd July 2012) | 99 runecrafting (12th March 2012) | 99 crafting (26th August 2012) | 99 agility (19th November 2012) 99 woodcutting (22nd November 2012) | 99 fletching (31st December 2012) | 99 thieving (3rd January 2013) | 99 hunter (11th January 2013) | 99 mining (21st January 2013) | 99 fishing (21st January 2013) 99 smithing (21st January 2013) | 120 dungeoneering (17th June 2013) | 99 divination (24th November 2013) Tormented demon drops: twenty effigies, nine pairs of claws, two dragon armour slices and one elite clue | Dagannoth king drops: two dragon hatchets, two elite clues, one archer ring and one warrior ring Glacor drops: four pairs of ragefire boots, one pair of steadfast boots, six effigies, two hundred lots of Armadyl shards, three elite clues | Nex split: Torva boots | Kalphite King split: off-hand drygore mace 30/30 Shattered Heart statues completed | 16/16 Court Cases completed | 25/25 Choc Chimp Ices delivered | 500/500 Vyrewatch burned | 584/584 tasks completed | 4000/4000 chompies hunted
