Nomad Berseker Stage

Sy_Accursed

Recommended Posts

I've tried nomad several times now and I have the stats to down him by all guides I've read.

I get through the first phases and usually have 1 set of sara brews and restore left (so 3 & 1 all at 4 doses) and 5 rocktails; but every time without fail he utterly ruins me in berserker mode.

Like 90% of the time I'm not hitting cause I'm eatting cause my lp vanishes in seconds

And the 10% of the time I am attacking I barely scratch him.

I always manage to run out of supplies and cling on til he has like a tiny slither of lp left and then die.

Any tips for surviving the berserker bit?

Spam brews, quit restoring, don't use rocktails and let the kyatt do the work. Step back and forth along a pillar so he hits you less often. Spam brews. Use BSS instead of an unholy book.

Can't afford BSS.

I have rocktails to take up the odd spaces left on invent and tort after setting up brew sets, are you saying its better to take extra brews?

Since brews drop your ranged level and I'm dying due to not hitting is it really a good idea to stop restoring?

Never bothered with Kyatt cause I'd be dead in the time it'd take to dismiss tort and summon it.

Never bothered with kyatt?!?!!?

THIS IS WHERE YOU'RE GOING WRONG!

Your tort should be full with brews. except for the last space which should have your kyatt pouch in it.

At beserker stage, just spam brews and kyatt spec. You really don't need to be attacking him.

Regular restores are enough for this fight as you don't use enough pray to warrant sup. restores.

Meh, I actually found him an easy fight because I took it very carefully and spent most of my time behind a pillar.

good luck!

EDIT: to be clearer. You do realise that when he has hallucinations and is charging for his 75 hit that you can stand behind a pillar and you don't have to tank him? use this time to dismiss tort and summon kyatt.

As I said i nvr bothered because I die in the faffing to dismiss and summon and most guides don't even recommend kyatt at my stats.

Edit: I never bother doing that hiding bit, I find I die sooner as I run out of stuff if I hide. Probably because I can get a few good hits in while hes not attacking me.

The kyatt makes a huuge difference. Definitely use one next time; there's no excuse for no having the time to dismiss your tort. Once your tort is empty, just dismiss it the next time you hide, either from the clone attack or the 750 attack.

kyatt and protect form melee, if you aren't already using it. It helps a bit.

I did fine with switching to diamond bolts, no kyatt, at a point where my stats weren't much higher than yours.

Especially since I heard they changed kyatt to be not as spammable.

Luring melee nomad to a pillar so you can sidestep for healing helps. Just don't pot more than twice while there or he might lose interest and heal up.

Disclaimer: The above is probably inaccurate.

3 more tries no luck.

Twice with kyatt it got in way of moving so he healed.

Third time I wasn't hitting at all due to reduced range and stepped wrong so he killed me.

You're doing something very wrong then.

Your stats are fine and indeed are better than mine when I did it.

Setup:

Neit (filled with kyatt scrolls_

Fury

Black dhide top

Rune c'bow

Ruby (e) bolts

Unholy book

Dhide chaps

Snakeskin boots

Barrows gloves

Archer ring

Invent:

Diamond (e) bolts

1 sup restore pot

7 reg restore pot

rest sara brews

+ Tort filled with sara brews and a kyatt pouch in the last spot.

Use this vid as your guide. There may be other equally good guides out there, but this is the one I used:

I think the bit you need to watch is at 4:30. Although he uses a titan, kyatt is better. See how he changes familiars.

You don't have to hide everytime you eat like the guy in the vid does (though you can if you're organised enough).

For beserker mode, mellee pro pray, and just alternate from spamming brews and your kyatt spec bar. Remember to change your summoning quick click button to familiar details from take BOB.

Also, you can use the F keys to change to your invent screen I think (I didn't use it, but you seem to be having severe problems so you might have to).

With the pillars methiod posted in earlier video I'm fairing much better; resource wise its just the walking bk n forth i get muddled and get nowhere with it.

I think perhaps brews + kyatt in open combat for the last bit might fair me better, especially as with pillar method i have 3 - 4 full brew sets left. (and considering i was close to doing it without hiding with 1 brew set)

Don't need Kyatt imo. I did Nomad around your levels, I just hugged the pillar. I let him attack me and get myself a few hits against him with diamond(e), move back to restore with brews, end with a sup restore sip go back out for some more hits. Worked fine. If you plan to have a familiar attacking Nomad you're better off with some other one than a Kyatt.

Well I never used a kyatt, which may explain why he destroyed me multiple times. But are you praying melee and using melee armor? That helps a little.

I can't take melee armour in and survive, and I use diamond bolts all the way, I find ruby waste too many brews due to draining my health.

I Intend to try later without pillar hiding when he goes beserk. If I could nearly best him on 1 set of brews, no familar no doubt I can jsut scrap through with 4 sets of brews.

Try to get a friend to lend you a GS (preferable SGS or BGS) and use it whilst he's beserk. Spec as much as possible. It worked for me.

Also, rather than kyatt I took titan and spammed heals...I barely survived but it worked.

But seriously take a spec weapon, since a good spec is crucial if it's powerful.

[hide=A funny conversation]Me:Have u wondered how my brassard, which leaves my chest bare, give about the same def as ur pile of rocks?

Friend:Hahaha

Barrows items: 2 Verac's helms, 1 Dhorak's Greataxe, 1 Dhorak's platelegs, 2 Karil's leathertops, 1 Karil's crossbow, 1 Guthan's chainskirt

Ergh fail again =/

I fear luck is not on my side with Nomad.

I've done every method under the sun I can aquire the tools for pretty much bankrupted myself (again) and still can't quite finish him off.

I'd bring a bit more melee def and just pray melee at berserker, with my DFS, just a little higher def, and melee pray he was barely touching me.

Stuff you should just take: Rubies. Kyatts. Brews.

No need for rocktails or titans (unless you have a Geyser, Iron or Steel titan). No need for diamonds. The spec isn't that useful as that of a ruby or the healing another brew can provide. No need for melee gear, except a shield. I used an ordinary spirit shield, but you could borrow a dfs. Otherwise just repeat your moves. Tort (bird will do as well) full of brews, two super and 7 normal restores (normal restores allows brew/rest 4:1), rest brews and one kyatt pouch. Spec with bgs and log if you hit below 300 (though I didn't use any spec weapon at all). All you need is practice or something.

Apparently, from what you tell us, the setup you use has worked fine for people. I used a terrorbird and got it the first time I tried a kyatt. You even use a tort, 6 more brews, wish I had had that, would've allowed me to last ~2k more damage (on Nomad, courtesy of the kyatt). So, it must be practice. Or you are physically unable to do it, or your luck is really terrible.
