What things have you never thought would happen but have?

I never thought that being inefficient and achieving less would be held in higher esteem by the RS population than being efficient and achieving more. Specifically, I am referring to RS's inexplicable fetish for untrimmed skillcapes.

 

I don't get what untrimmed skillcapes have to do with being inefficient :-s

I never thought I'd have anywhere near the stats and bank I have now. I remember saying to myself one day way back in 2005, "when I get the money to buy a partyhat--no, a santa, I'm gonna quit".

On the maple log topic, there is a way you could efficiently collect your ashes, if you fm using the method that involves E-W and W-E fming, although you'd only collect half of them.

 

I said after I buy 3 santas I'd quit, and I did.

I never thought that we would have a trade limit.

I never thought we wouldn't be able to get what players dropped when they died.

I also never thought that 100k wouldn't get me squat.

I never thought firemaking could ever lead to profit... but its true ashes are worth more then maple logs. Doub many people would take the time to wait for the logs to burn and pick up the ashes but you could..

I never thought limproot could worth more than 100gp ea, now they are....well, something 2k plus at least I think.

 

I never thought I could get combat 100, much less beyond that, well, now I am lvl 124.

 

I never thought of a lot of stuff, but honestly, just shows you how time changes everything.

I never thought I'd ever have a 150m+ bank, 3 99s, smithing on the way, and 120 combat. And still be average.
