Ivy Tree Cutting Help.

Hey, Forum Members

I just got members so I can get to 99 woodcutting. I got to level 86 woodcutting in f2p, and so when I got members I immediately got a dragon hatchet and started to cut Ivy for exp. I do not care about making money just yet. So I realized I only seem to be getting around 70-75k exp an hour cutting ivy near the varrock castle. Is there any way to increase the exp per hour I get on ivy.

The higher the level, the faster you cut, and the more xp/hour you will get... just keep training :)

This and you could get the lumberjack outfit to increase the xp

Finally on here to update that I have officially quit! It's been fun.

Alright, do you recommend anything other than Ivy for a " skiller' I am only level 3, like a different log or technique.

Well, never mind, you won't be able to get the lumberjack outfit, just keep going with Ivy

75k can only be achieved at 99 wc, also dont forget to wear a rabbits foot necklace.

What do you mean 75k average can only be achieved at 99..

as you get closer to 99 you get more and more exp and once you reach 99 you will get 75k an hour after that.

Try the sawmill to the east of varrock castle.

Its supposed to be the fastest xp in the game.

80-90k I have heard.

When Sawmill training was first released, I did a lot of research while working on the Tip.It Woodcutting Guide. In addition to that, when I was getting 99 Woodcutting myself, the only training methods I used were two Evil Trees per day and the rest of the EXP I gained through Sawmill training.

It can be a bit repetitive, but if you concentrate it is definitely faster EXP than Ivy.

People are under the impression that Ivy is faster only because they prefer the AFK-ability of Ivy, and they usually haven't tried out Sawmill Training themselves.

Like I said, it can be a bit repetitive (I still really enjoyed it though, hence doing it all the way to 99 Woodcutting) but you won't really know until you try it out yourself!

:)

Edit: As far as actual tips go for Sawmill training (if you're interested)

  • Only take on Large jobs
  • Use a Crystal Saw if you can as it doubles the EXP you get per plank cut
  • Have nothing in your inventory except for your saw
  • If you make more planks than your current task requires, Remove them from the Cart and save them for your next job

Sawmill is no good as a lv3 can't do the quest for crystal saw.

Well, the bulk of the EXP you gain in Sawmill Training comes from completing the jobs, not the EXP you get from cutting up the planks along the way; the Crystal saw only doubles the EXP you get from cutting up the planks, so I'm fairly confident that using a regular saw won't be that much of a downside.

At his Woodcutting level (86) he would still be getting 8,649 EXP for completing each Large job, regardless of if he uses a Crystal or a regular saw, and this amount will only increase as his Woodcutting level increases.

What about teaks? Not to sure on this as its been a while but isn't teaks supposed to be ridiculously good xp per hour if you drop in columns, aslo you can flech inbetween clicks if you want to be mega effecient.

I think the xp is 90-100k but will probably be lower since your woodcuttings not 99, suposedly its about as good as sawmill but you can flech while doign it :P and if you have adze you can get firemaking xp.

The reason people do ivy is that it's afk, not because it's fast xp, even banking teaks(it used to be profitable, not sure about it nowadays) is faster xp than ivy, but you can't afk teak. Same with sawmill(which is up to ~115k xp an hour at 99).
