A Rushed write up of events:

 

 

 

January through July

Following a huge Commonwealth Offensive, and plagued by logistical problems, Russia split down into three SSRs. The Eura-Asian SRR, The Siberian SSR and the Russian SSR.

Drawing troops back from the African front, Russia launched a massive counter offensive through India and Sri Lanka, biting into the back of the Commonwealth, which was forced to abandon their offensive into China to prevent the spread of Russian forces.

 

Northern Africa was divided amongst the European nations, with the Middle East given to New Bulgaria, and Britian assigned to the Eura-Asian SSR.

 

In America the Americans flooded south, taking parts of northern South America, rewarded with Cuba and the Southern United States, including Florida.

 

 

In space the British and Swiss have fallen out as allies, resulting in a breakdown in the asteroid mining protection areas, a breakdown which the Russians have exploited to their full capacity, which is further hampering the Swiss/British counter offensive as resource levels continue to fall.

At the center of the increase in tension is allegations that the British have been saving Genocidal Bioweapons to use against Earth, killing billions...Something which, in and of itself the Swiss do not oppose, their opposition hinges more on the fact that this would give Britian sole ability to reinhabit Earth.

 

The argument eventually fizzled itself, but the close alliance has been destroyed, in its place is an alliance of distrust.

I have developed a possible primary weapon for the stronger warships, the Rad Rifle.

Using two lead mirrors it focuses a beam of gamma-radiation at the target with presumed high accuracy, at a strenght of 90 Gray it can take out a person near instantly.

When fired at a vehicle or building it takes out all occupants in one shot.

It has two disadvantages, it is very weak against shields, even weaker than meson weaponry and if the target is wearing a hazmat suit then it will only suffer from major radiation sickness.

To avoid any radiation leaking from the weapon itself it is enchanced with a small shield.

It is fully capable of taking out the crew of a standard Russian ship in a shot without considerable duration. It leaves fallout for longer than one hour when taking out a Russian ship.

If I got either one of r Both of these correct I would like to spend the points on the concept of Jormungand (PF) which is described below, if the research would actually provide tangible benefits particularly in the quality part of the project..

Drake, they have no real benefits, so you can spend them elsewhere.

 

 

In other news(Yay for conservatory building+Rail Gun discussion getting in the way of proper planning for yesterday), while staying at the detention center a number of random/not so random events happened:

 

Jeremiah and Drake were forcibly AIalised, with directives to serve Swiss Interests the primary protocol for the duration of the stay, thus revealing everything they know/knew about the bioweapon, Unity and its adventures. Afterwards a Sanity Protocol was added and the data about the mission was deleated from their minds.

Upshot: Jeremiah and Drake are AIs.

 

Nero got into a fight with one of the guards, a Frenchman run away from the Terran Federation to live in Switzerland. After being beaten senseless Nero was locked in solitary with a ball and a baseball glove, which improved his Hand-Eye Co-Ordination(Weapons) by 1.

Theros was subjected to bio-experimentation and genetic modification, as well as various pure torture exercises. At the end of it he is left with a deep hatred of the Swiss, a Compromised Immune System and if the lights are brighter than moonlight Theros will have his eyes snap shut to prevent blindness, on the plus side he gained night vision and a three finger claw replaced his right hand. He also gained blackout goggles to prevent his eyes being burned out.

Dmitri was also subjected to bio-experimentation and such. At the end of it he was left with a deep hatred of the Swiss, lack of a sense of smell and looks scary as hell; his nose was removed and his mouth extended upwards. On the plus side he has gained spines down his arms, a pair of horns and an armour-plated back.

Earth spent the time locked in the 'American' detainment facility, which was very quiet and so got a lot of reading done, gaining 4 levels in Repair.

Chi spent the time in a large vat of mutagenic liquid along with several dozen fish, as a result his lungs have converted to gills, he has developed webbing between his fingers, his feet have become much larger (looking vaguely like flippers), his skin has developed an oily coating and both forearms developed fins. When he was removed from the tank he almost suffocated, so had a bowl shoved on his head, connected to a water tank on his back.

Faust, after seeing Nero beaten to a pulp and dragged off, decided it was best to not do anything even vaguely against the rules...Unfortunately there was a fire and Faust had been told to stay where he was, so was burned horribly, spending four months in intensive care and developed an 'ashama-like' condition, resulting in shortness of breath at random intervals, extenuated by running and other physical tasks. On the plus side while in hospital Admiral Jean visited him, giving him a masterclass in ship to ship combat, giving him 5 levels in ship to ship combat. He also experimented with Psionics, annoying various doctors by stealing their pens and throwing cups of coffee over them, gaining 2 Psionic levels.

Echo spent the time plugged into a computer with his memory disconnected. When he woke up it was time to leave.

Lee spent the time in a psyche ward, heavily sedated and strapped down.

 

(If anyone is unhappy with these random events they can pay 10,000 EC, die and be back to normal (as a note, ship funds are down to 20,000). They will also lose the positives. Please try to roleplay these things if you take them on, and remind me when I make mistakes =P)

Aaanyways, I like where that went. I now have Psionic powers equal to those of any unassisted human in history, and am one of the best pilots on the Unity. :)

Seeing as how I am now not as suited for ship to ship combat, I'd like to give position of chief tactical officer to Faust, since with level 5 in that aspect it would be silly not to. While I still don't entirely trust you from the whole "I took over the AI" thing, I think you've shown enough loyalty to gain my respect.

 

Fishman's Chi's quarters will be flooded with water and two airlocks will be installed to make things more comfortable

 

I do believe it is time to get our priorities straight, gentlemen. We need warships, and we need troops. Up until now, we have been able to get the job done more or less safely with just us, but now, with possible enemies on every single front, we will need to bolster our defenses and increase our ability to fight.

Yeah, the one thing is that those puzzles are incredibly easy to solve if you know how as there are a few simple rules that give an answer.

 

Those 'Random' occurences seem a bit unusual, though I am more or less happy with what I got (though skill ranks would in theory have been nice). If anyone really wants to get rid of these effects after the ship fund runs out of money I guess I could loan funds to the ship fund at that time.

 

What effect does it have on an AI if they suffer copy or move errors without any Merits?

 

Also since I am unable to pursue Jormungand (PF), perhaps I could pursue Jormungand (MA) with one of research points.

Jormungand (MA) - Aquanite Alloy, a highly flexible (same reason as Jormungand (M)) material that can alter its buoyancy without use of compressed gasses or increasing in size, and is ideally non reactive with most fluids.

Let's see... my visor had nightvision capabilities already, although I guess I'll have to modify it now to make everything darker so I don't end up with "OH GOD MY EYES ARE BURNING"

The claw should prove... interesting, to say the least.

Oh, and I hate the Swiss now too. So that makes the Swiss, the Russians, to a mild extent the Britons (from that incident on the Sere)... So the only people I'm going to end up NOT hating are Unity crewmembers.

 

....Wait... our two highest-class officers (sans Nero) are currently AIs?

 

The next session should prove highly interesting. I may have to design a few robots for Jeremiah and Drake to take over...

Chi, Drake and Jeremiah were turned into AIs. With Drake, I think that means a new neural center. With Jeremiah, I think it's probably just an addition to the Obsidian core processors.
