I averaged Titanium, tetraburnium, carbon nanofibre, nitrium and jormungand together and got the following:

 

Average strength: 19.66666666666667

 

Average weight: 14.33333333333333

 

Average Flexibility: 13

 

Average Melting Point: 22

 

Can someone at least check my work? I had to recheck my work 25 times, and got the same answers. I, of course, am not confadent about my averaging skills. Please, please ppppplllllllleeeeeeeaaaaaaaaassssseeeeeeeeeeee check my work, pppppppllllllllleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssseeeeeeeeeee!

You almost got it correct, its just an issue that you divided by the wrong number (3 instead of 5)

Average flexibility: 7.8

Average melting point: 13.2

overall this seems like a very similar material to titanium that will provide atleast a small amount of radiation and plasma fire immunity for a far higher cost

Well the question would be how they are arranged and in what ratios. For example, if you had titanium layered with carbon nanofibre, that would probaly be cheaper and more durable than just messing em up together.

Really, really, really sorry, I have the flu, a blasting headache, and family are going on holiday (I didn't want to go), so I used my last reserves shuttling them about in the car (Ok, to be more precise, picking my sister up while parents packed, then driving back, then sleeping in the car on the way to the ferry, then drove home.).

So I am gonna get food from somewhere (I checked the oven and there wasn't any in there, must be broken :grin: ) and then...something, I don't know, something that isn't mentally taxing, like watch TV.

Ok, puzzlistics.

I said 3 because the average of 2 materials plus d20 is /3.

 

Also, combining metals is:

{Strength of Material X} + D20 /X

 

As such it may make more sense to produce alloys and combine them, since then you can bring quantities into play, however there is the ever increasing risk of getting a low or high roll, which screws up the chain.

 

The combinations are retained for as long as I can remember them, so if you get a good combination ask me to save it.

 

Cost wise, combining 1 kT of Titanium with 1 kT of Monotainum will produce a 2 kT Alloy, conversely a 1 kT Alloy will be made up of .5 kT Titanium and .5 Monotanium.

 

 

I would recommend Microsoft Office Excel or Open Office Calc for the calculation strings, as they are easier to manipulate.

 

 

And no, you don't have any money.

 

Combining non-metals doesn't average the strengths, since non-metals tend not to bond as readily.

I've got the flu too, and I've had a headache for the last few days, feels like the left side of my skull is shrinking, putting preassure on my brain and eyeball.

I've come up with a good all-round alloy (before D20):

Name: N/A

Strenght: 16,2

Weight: 12,4

Flexibillity: 10

Melting point: 14,4

 

That's 60% crystalline, 40% monotanium.

 

Should be sort of cheap (depending on the price of crystalline) and is better than titanium on all points except flexibillity, where it is equal.

I would have used nanofibre instead of crystalline, but it is a non-metal.

Thanks Faust. So far I have mentioned AI, Nero, Faust, Chi, Earth, me and soon as I have it typed up I'll have Jen (before she turned into a ghost), Jeremiah, Rocco and everyone else. Please check it out once in awhile. Of course, I did pull a few strings which really fictionizes it, like the fact I'm a fifteen year old medical school graduate. If I ever publish the storyline, I kinda wanted to play with the audiance's mind. :) I like it so far. If anyone feels insulted that they haven't been mentioned its because I: a) haven't gotten to the point where you're mentioned, b) I don't know your character name (aka, you probably haven't played a session with me in the same session.) or, c) you arn't even a part of our Space.

Where is the story?

 

 

Jen was the only medic at the time she was on the ship, and she was generally interested in bio weapons. She was also prolific with her technology output (the old system was there was a set number of puzzles for everyone. She grabbed half of them, much to Faust's disdain), and used the money from their sale to purchase her own destroyer, which was the main mining ship and outfitted with four ion cannons, before she destroyed it after it was seized. Long story there.

@ Chi: No he won't, and you won't be getting into life ending actions either. So that means that you won't die. Though I could have a part where you are held as hostage and is tourtured (perhaps by the swiss or aliens)

@ Retech: I definatly pulled alot of strings with Jen. I wanted to mention her. For my story, check my profile. It should be under my About Me page. If not I'll be pissed. The story is really the only thing I really have on there. Other than my little status thingies that often say my, although it's not my official yet, phrase "For the Unity!"

Well, one of the ways to include Jen at this point would be to note that her profession was officially a medic, but that she didn't perform the functions of a medic. For the first half of the game, she was basically the "sedating" person.

 

The story is really good so far. Just a suggestion though. :)

Although crew deaths are pretty unavoidable, Jeremiah is the only one whose body was permanently destroyed. Even then, his brain was back at the Unity hooked up to transmitters. Hence his current, robot form.
