Why is there no topic for this? Did nobody buy this game?

It was released yesterday. I have acquired this game and so far, i'm loving it.

I'm not too interested. Heard it has a lot of bugs and I didn't really like Fallout 3 that much.

Yeah, within about 10 minutes of playing the first dog I mets eyes were dangling on the side of its head. Weird. And I've heard of some glitch involving the Strip and a black screen.

Glitches aside, I'm having fun. I feel like it's a vast improvement from Fallout 3.

Yes. Apparently Steam Cloud screws your saves up too.

I'll probably get it when the bugs get fixed and the price drops.

I bought it for PC, and I'm loving it. I strongly recommend the collector's edition, it comes with some cool stuff. Heads up if you plan on buying it on PC, there's a 6gb download waiting for you.

I plan on buying it once I get the cash. It looks good, but I never played Fallout 3 so Ill be new to the game.

 

IGN gave it a 8.5 so its above average.

I watched the review and the main issues are that feels like an expansion for 3. There are still bugs, takes a long time to load, and lip syncing is not the best. But if that is put aside the game looks good.

Most of the major bugs are fixed, but I am holding off at least until Darn gets his UI mod working and someone makes a centered third person camera. I have standards from FO3 :P.

 

The ironsights are a huge improvement.

I don't know exactly what top say...other than this game is better than Fallout 3 in nearly every friggin' category. I'm pretty much taken with this game at the moment, so...bye. :)

if you can see past the bugs its a amazeing game there is just so many quests to do

btw as anyone had bug with ED-E when brotherhood guy talks useing him it locks my controls and i can only aim no other buttons work happened after i went vault 22 for the part for air filter system?

Good, though the only difference is the location so far compared to FO3. It's really laggy too I find (playing on a PS3). Hopefully it will pick up soon..

My major problem with the game is its very laggy. It don't ruin the game, but it can be problematic on occasions. I hope it will get better with time, cause the game is too good not to be fixed.

I see Deathclaws are annoying as ever.

I love this game. The Bloody Mess perk is as fun as it's always been, especially with energy weapons. Even though I've played the other Fallouts I'm still amazed at how many different options there are to complete a quest. A little laggy here and there (360) but it's nothing too bad.

Im loving this game at the moment. There were some performance issues but a mod fixed that and now it plays fine. The fat man is entertaining to use as always.

 

I think being able to use the ironsights is a huge improvement, and overall i think the game is as good as, if not better than FO3. :thumbup:

I thought the story in Fallout 3 was mediocre and hero oriented non sense to be honest. you could barely be evil in that game. In fact, the story barely permitted you to be evil. Sure, you can poison the water and blow up the brotherhood, but thats just black/white morals.

 

I'm deleting all of the saves i have and replaying it after I beat the game in a few. Reason? Well, I was playing the game on lowest settings with horrid lag, and then installed the directx 9 dll fix. Long story short, I can run it on max settings flawlessly. :/ I want a full experience, too, and make the decisions I would have truly made. I won't mention anything here, but lets say I betrayed everyone, including those I wanted to help.

 

Who knows, maybe I'll make different choices, or more of the same. Nevertheless, I will admit there were choices in this game that I would have never made had the world been real and I was there. Thats why I want to replay it for the most part.

 

On a last note, very easy play through on Very Hard and Hardcore mode. Or is that just me?

My essential mods now are the nVidia DX9 fix (makes the game run at over 100 fps if not capped, I was getting 14-20 with the stock settings), Fellout, Centered First Person Camera, Darn's UI (makes it more PC and less XBox). With those, I can finally start playing.

Either it's way easier to kill people in VATS or the Trigger Finger perk (not sure if that's the name, but 20%+ accuracy and 20%- speed), but I can easily kill a convict with 2 or 3 shots lined up.

I'm having so much fun so far. Have about 20 hours clocked, and I'm still undecided as to which ending i'm going to choose.

The more I play this game, the more I enjoy it. Still kinda lost on some things, but slowly getting the hang of it.

Found the Ratslayer rifle earlier today. It's basically a modded Varmint rifle (surpressor, scope and night sights I think) but its great fun to use.

I know which ending I'm going for but I'm doing all the quests I can before I go for it.
