GTA3

Well, I never officially completed the game. We had it on computer and I'd just load my brother's save games and continue from where he was. But since my various "gaming evolutions" (where due to increased intelligence/focus/whatever I'm much more capable with my dexterity, attention to detail, puzzle-solving and whatnot) I'm doing quite well on it for now. And it's a lot better than I thought. Usually after you play a revolutionary game, you appreciate it for a while but you leave it when something else cool comes along. I've never realised how awesome this game is, and how far ahead of its time it was. The story is still outstanding; I'd love to see it adapted into a movie (or maybe that would better suit another GTA game).

I'm currently going for 100%; something I've vowed to but never have achieved on any of the GTA games. Right now, I think I'm on 70 something; done 70 of 73 missions (got the final one, the last 4x4 mission and another one I'm not sure of), just completed all the rampages today, done all jumps. Still have to do the car missions (firefighter, paramedic & vigilante), collect the packages (56 of 100 so far), do the last few missions and complete the car-delivery lists.

Anybody else been playing it again recently, or completed in 100%?

I've only tried it once on GTA3, stalled out at 96 or 97%. I still have the save games on my computer, so if I get bored during the winter holidays I might give it a shot...

I own this game on ps2, ive never really givin it a good shot at 100% completion, i think im on like 80% and thats just from doing a whole lotta fun stuff. Yes i agree it is a very good game but nothing compared to san andreas - 100% pwnz j00 :P

Well.. i got Vice City and San Andreas done 100%, took me about a week on either.. never tried for 100 on GTA3.. post a pic when you get it pl0x?

I find it hard to believe you can complete GTA San Andreas to 100% in a week. That's all the storyline missions, gaining all the territories, taxi missions, ambulance missions, firetruck missions, pimp missions, all the cars delivered to the garage, all the sub-missions, all the rampages, all the bike/car/plane school missions, all the running/swimming/biking missions, all the graffiti tags...... i'm pretty sure there's more but even that lot would take way more than a week.

Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.

Actually, the territories aren't necessary for 100%. But I agree in that anyone who claims to have beaten it in a week is lying.

I think I got about...60% something in GTA3...Many of the side missions, plus the import/export. I never really looked for packages, jumps, rampages etc, as I played it after Vice City, which was better. I got like 94% in Vice and then got so bored I had to stop. I did however make it to 100% in San Andreas. It was too fun to stop playing :).

It took the game development team almost three weeks to beat thier own game on San Andreas for bug testing.

I am hoping you did not spend more than 9 hours at a time playing the game like they did.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe as well... I finished the story in around a week but thats only like 50% of the game...

I got 100% on Vice City because i always really wanted those bodyguards (turned out to be not very good but meh).

I tried for 100 on San Andreas but never made it, i found the street races and the fire truck missions too frustrating. It's an ongoing work though, i still play on it a fair bit.

Never got GTA3, but i think i will.

It is technically possible, but not likely. I played (during school mind you) and I got roughly the same as you in a weeks time. But if I, or anyone who really wanted to beat it in a week, it is possible. It's about 10 hours a day, less if he beat all missions first try. But I don't know why anyone would ever do that.

I did beat GTA San Andreas, but not 100%. I did play Vice City, but I couldn't get past Shakedown I think it was called. Where you had to break all the glass in the mall.

I can't imagine anyone could complete it to 100% that fast on their first play through the game, or without a guide book telling them where all the horseshoes, oysters, grafitti tags etc are located.

You pretty much need one...The only other possible way to even think about doing all those collectables would be with a jetpack...And eventually you'd prolly get stuck...A few I couldn't find even with a guide...Not to mention, the 50 snapshots, you can only see at night, and can only see the icon with a zoomed in camera (there is a pink glow). Plus half the oysters are in absurdly hard to find places...It would take easily a week or two alone just to find all the collectables without some sort of guide.
