Getting another chaotic, idk if I should get longsword, or a maul..

 

I do alot of Safe Pvp....

So, if I were doing alot of clan wars, castle wars, etc, where people have full bandos and all, how well would the CLS be in that situation? I had a rapier before, and I didn't seem to do so well at those places with it.. and how well would the maul work?

 

Melee stats are 99 str, att, 90 def, 99 hp, and I dont have ext/ovl/turm/ss

Well, normally I'd say Rapier in a split-second, but seeing as you've already tried that, and CLS shines at 50 % of the spots you mention (TD's/bandos), aswell as being very decent in the last 50 % (Clan Wars/Fight Pits), and you don't have overloads, turmoil or maxed stats, I'd give CLS a try.

Dragon drops: 82 (2 claws)

Dagannoth kings drops: 73

Barrows item count: 51

GWD drops: 54 (5 hilts: 1x bandos, 3x saradomin, 1x zamorak)

Whips: 4

Sigils: 1x spectral (FFA), 1x arcane (FFA)

I have two answers.

 

1. Get your rapier back.

 

2. Get a maul and skip going to Bandos (which isn't good without overloads and turmoil anyway). You'll have a lot of fun with it at TDs and whatever PVP you do.

My advice: get maul and geek tormented demons. Since you don't have overloads and turmoil yet, you rely on your weapon's bonuses rather than others' (i.e. making maul very good); so, maul! :)

 

Your choice, though. I chose the rapier, but I do a lot of frost dragons as well as dagannoth kings. Probably getting maul next. ;)

I agree with Ob. Rapier is best solo Bandos weapon, works good at TDS (who said CLS is best? TDS are weak to stab) and useful for Slayer overall.

 

Maul if you don't have divine

Rapier/Long if you have divine (Long good for dealing with crashers, Rapier better solo though)

Tds are weak to stab but only a little. CLS is sometimes preferred because of its slow speed, which makes is easier to switch with. Though with perfect switching, rapier would be best I suppose.

I'd agree. Rapier's speed is just extremely important normally. At places e.g. Bandos, however, you might wanna use a divine (if you have one) and so will your weapon's bonuses matter more (and not speed) making CLS more useful. I doubt you have a divine, so I'd go with the maul.
