I was wondering what weapon(s) I should buy for training ALL my combat stats and for generally use. Im not bothered about price. Though you'd be better off getting a chaotic rapier, as it replaces ss and whip for training, as well as zamorakian spear for stab. SoulWars Posted November 11, 2010 Share Posted November 11, 2010 For magic: ancient staff < staff of light (possibly with battle robes)For ranged: normally rune crossbow + broad-tipped bolts (cheap and efficient)For melee: whip for attack/defence, saradomin sword for strength, zamorakian spear for creatures weak to stab (and crush - the chaotic rapier is better for stab and the chaotic maul is better for crush, though)... you can also train all of your melee skills at once using the whip's controlled option. Very good = useful to a high level. But OP doesn't have 80 dg, and it doesn't seem like he will for quite a while. IMO, go for the Z spear, it's more useful than Quyneax makes it out to be. 'Very good' is something like the rapier, 'useful' includes stuff like lbs/ks/zs that you use until the best. That's just my own twisted terminology. It seems to be significantly slower than the whip, which certainly limits its effectiveness as a melee weapon.it's the same attack speed - one attack per 4 ticks (2.4s) however it does deal significantly less damage than a whip+defender to monsters that are approximately equally resistant to stab and slash.
