Ladies and Gents, I decided to kill 1000 black dragons to see if I get a draconic visage in that time. Thought I would share with you how I am going about this.

 

At about 500 kills I am going to go to the KBD for some fun, if you want to come too sign up here

 

A quick thing... Thanks to everyone who is giving me advice but I am going to do it my way, at the end of the day I am playing this for fun, and ZS is not that fun imo, I will move to this when I'm killing them for slayer. But if you are going to comment from now on, 15th of November, please do so with interesting points, not "godswords are outdated" or"your wrong" lol

 

Now the good thing about this goal is that, no matter if I get a visage or not I will still make just less than 10m with the bones and hides.

 

This is my set up:

 

 

Helm: Helm of Neitiznot

Ammy: Amulet of Fury

Chest: Bandos Chestplate

Legs: Bandos Tassets

Boots: Dragon

Gloves: Barrows

Weapon: Saradomin Godsword

Ring: ... Explorer's ring (I don't want ROW because it will shorten my trips with other drops and I cant afford anything better atm)

 

Inventory:

 

 

Terrorbird pouch. (BoB)

Chicken (to get in)

2 sharks - just in case.

Extreme set. (str, def and att)

2 Super anti-fires.

2 Pray pots.

Charm place holders

Ectophial

 

The reason I have an extreme defence and pray pots is because I will tank about 400 hits then pray melee and heal with spec. Saves pray pots.

 

 

Day 1:

 

Here are some cool-ish drops from todays trip:

 

 

 

 

As you can see, i managed to kill 104 dragons today, the wealth from all the drops is:

 

 

 

The clue scroll and effigy will wait till the end of the slaughter, if any of you guys want the xp from the effigy just post in the comments with skills you have and your rs name and il pm you :)

 

I sold all the bones and hides, to get enough for cannon and lots of cannonballs, and did loots of slayer today. I am only going to be doing this casually as my true aim is to get slayer to 85. But I will still carry on with this.

 

What should I do after this? Post what you think here.

 

I will update this with some good drops and points of interest as I go along. I predict that I will be done in about a weeks time.

The cape your using, weapon and ring is not good ones.

 

Use ring of wealth:

Then dragons will drop you rune items more often. You will get Rune longsword quite often. +1 prayer bonus helps you so little that it's neglectable.

 

Use Leaf's blade with Dragonfire shield or Anti dragon shield:

If you got a DFS, you will get more defense which will go nicely with your Bandos armor. You will also get +7 Strength bonus, and Leaf-bladed sword is good stab weapon, and better to use than SGS. Korasi's sword is better than Leaf-blade, so use that if you got it.

 

SGS can be used for healing.

 

 

Use Ardougne cloak:

For the stab attack bonus. Will make you more acccurate.

The cape your using, weapon and ring is not good ones.

 

Use ring of wealth:

Then dragons will drop you rune items more often. You will get Rune longsword quite often. +1 prayer bonus helps you so little that it's neglectable.

Thank you for the tips but the whole point of this, i forgot to mention, is that i finaly got super anti-fires and am trying out lots of differnt ways, i do have dfs yes and i normaly/useed to kill dragons with leaf bladed sword and my dfs.

 

And about the ring of wealth, i dont actually want any more drops, i just want bones, hides and maybe a Vissage. RoW = less kills per trip. When i get back to makeing money for 99 herblore i will take these into account. :D

Your going to want to pray melee.

So where prosylete or monk.

My biggest tip is using a zamorakian spear on stab. Stab owns dragons big time ;)

Also, either wear a berserker ring or a ring of wealth. Explorers ring doesn't really do jack.

Don't listen to any of this. ^

 

- Pray melee.

- Use piety/turmoil.

- Use a ZS or a CR. Nothing else.

- SGS will suffice as a spec weapon, I suppose, but claws would be much better (and cheaper).

- Use a SW cape with your Bandos (yes, even while praying melee).

Good luck! I think the best advice is to use a Zamorakian Spear. Those things rock against Black Dragons.

Some people are dumb because they ignore good advice, others are noobs because they just don't know what they are doing is stupid. The 3rd, and best group to be in when being inefficient is the group who knows its inefficient, but chose to have fun over efficiency.

 

So kill them how you like, but do it because that is how you have fun, and know there are far better ways to kill them.

I love how this blog of yours have become almost a discussion thread about efficiency. I will admit that I know incredibly little about dragon slaying, but I think that you have a great setup. And godswords are ftw. No matter what anyone else says. They're GODswords. And awesomely cool imo. Then I don't care if some other, non-godsword weapon has better stats.

I'm assuming that you know that I am in the 3rd group. Fun > Efficiency any time. However the ratios for each do shift depending on what I'm doing. For instance if I'm slaying I will take all measures to make my trip last as long as possible whilst killing as fast as possible. When I am just killing for fun I take my time and look at almost every hit and try and max.
