The next evolve?

If the current species - alternative living sapiens survive for long enough for an evolution process to take place it certainly won't happen on earth. On earth we inhabit just about every single place and we've used our brains to adapt without any physical changes by making clothes, houses, air conditioning, cures for diseases etc. To be honest though I don't think humans are that successful, being self aware and being intelligent doesn't guarantee the success of that species. Bacteria have been around for 4.5 billion years much more intelligent species have evolved since then but have died out.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If there was a new species of human to evolve it would be from the colonization of other planets. For evolution to occur there has to be isolation of the 2 groups (so that they don't interbreed) second there has to be some kind of environmental factor which influences how they live or reproduce. My guess is the next human species would be from Mars (once we colonize it). Very slight differences is atmospheric composition and gravitional differences could cause a species change considering that people wouldn't be constantly trafficked from Mars to Earth as it would take quite a while to get there.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But of course, it's likely when we colonize Mars, they will still have easy contact and transport with Earth, so they are likely to interbreed. Unless whoever gets there first claims it, turns it into a liveable place and then ends all communication. Then a war would start. That would be a good movie.

Max speed today a manned space craft has got up to is 40,000 km/h. If for example we invented some new type of engine, say antimatter propulsion or nuclear fusion propulsion it wouldn't really increase the speed much - would save a lot in terms of fuel though. So lets say a normal Mars to Earth 'bus' travels at 60,000 km/h (no idea if this is the true speed of an antimatter engine). But the distance from earth to Mars is around 45 million miles so it would take a good 2 months of just travelling in space so i'd guess any travel between the 2 planets would be used only in times of real need.

we're evolving now.. but so slowly we cant see it, it doesnt jump after 1 kid oh look that monkey gave birth to a human, i think we'll loose are hair because we dont need it for warmth anymore with h eating in homes, and i think we'll be smaller in future

I agree with scruffy though. Generally species evolve because of natural selection. A mutation occurs in a being and if it helps the thing survive and outlive the others to pass its own genes on, that specific type will pass on and be the evolving product.

 

 

 

But right now there isn't any natural selection or anything pressing down on humans that will make the fittest survive. So if we do evolve at all it will just be because of lifestyle changes, I guess. Things like losing the pinky of our toes because we don't need it anymore.

 

 

 

But who knows. If we were to evolve, I think we'd end up looking like this:

 

 

 

 

 

 

I doubt being fat would be an issue in the future. People would be genetically engineered and altered for optimum health and fitness.

Evolution happens with 'natural selection', where animals with the strongest genes have a higher chance of breeding. Example, giraffes, they use to be horses. The ones with the longer neck gene actually lived, and thus, had a higher chance of breeding. Over time some horses evolved into giraffes, ect. This doesnt happens with humans, because people with longer necks dont have a higher chance of breeding. The only real trait that gives you a higher chance of breeding is good looks, but then again ugly people can breed with other ugly people, ect.

 

 

 

So no, were not going to evolve.

Your putting science (evolution) with fiction (telekinesis). I don't see where the energy comes from to move an object by electrical impulses in the brain. Evolution doesn't keep making us better until we have superhuman abilities all evolution does is make us adapted to the surroundings we live in long enough for us to reproduce.

That really depends though, what we are using it for. If we fully colonize it, like, say Corusant, then travel will go to and fro often regardless. If we build like, 1 space station for research, and or for launching satelites/spacecraft, it seems unlikely that they would be able to run their own civilization. Also, we need to know whether or not it is possible to make Mars inhabitable, with food/water/air, because therefore we'd need to send supply ships there often. Of course, we don't know how we will use Mars. And you never know whether my invention (a giant, interstellar travel sling) will work.
