Skully
How am I supposed to know what prayer to switch to if I don't hear any sound until it's actually hit me?
Aslan
When it flips the tail->it's the range attack.Otherwise it's the mage one.
Skully
Hmm, the guides I looked at told me to go by sound.
ghjkl
If it mages before, switch to range. If it ranges before, switch to mage. You shouldn't be praying melee on melee but soul split.
Skully
No I'm not praying melee, so basically I just switch every attack to the opposite of what it was before?
Aslan
Sounds about right.Be carefulle at the AOE(area of effect) attacks from others.
Skully
So what about when they go to melee and don't do anything, how will I know if it's range or mage next?
Aslan
I usually pray range after that as it tends to hit more than the magic attack.Haven't been at tds in a while so you might want to wait a bit for pro tds'ers to answer.
Quyneax
I support that. Ranged hits more than mage hits more than melee. So switch in order of danger: if not ranging, ranged, if ranging, mage. Dragonlordjl
Ranged defense doesn't do jack [cabbage] there. Their ranged attack seems to ignore defense and hits randomly. Magic defense does make a significant difference. Therefore, when you have doubts, pray Range. Also, about every 90 seconds, they'll charge up and hit you with an AOE magic attack. Â One strategy to eliminate prayer switching altogether is to use Soul Split. They only switch styles when you block their attacks with prayers, so since you aren't blocking melee when you are using SS (and Melee is by far their least accurate style), they'll just use it until they die or you step out of melee distance. manitstinks
It would usually hit you one time with a off target mage attac that splats on the ground. After that it swiches to its main attack. The main attack almosts hits u by the time the off target attack hits u. Because of this, i pray mage then see what attack he has next, then switch to that pray. Obviously doesnt work all the time but seems to be very good for me.
Skully
Right so can anybody please give me a relevant guide that is in date? And/or step-by-step? Thanks.
Smapla
i often td without sound  basically, whenever it leans back you should pray against mage but be ready to switch to range. its range attack is the most damaging, followed my mage, and melee is a joke. when it leans back it very often fires off a magical attack but then generally changes its default style. the sounds are very distinctive but shouldn't be what you use to determine when to switch. it leaning back actually makes no sound at all
amitoz
Just SS and don't pray protect at all.. that way they wont change attacks from melee. Come to my Clan chat (I'm there if I'm online) if you wish to borrow a Green H'ween mask, Blue H'ween Mask, Red H'ween Mask, or Santa for a reasonable price.
