December 26, 200520 yr Ok im thinking of buying a DS, problem is, i dont know allot about it. I know the touch screens, it can go online, and there is a medium amount of games that can be bought for it, but id like to know if it would be a waste of my money or not. So i would like to know: 1. Is it worth buying, anything that would be very good about it, or not very good 2. Can anyone explain how the online part works and what i need to get it to work (the info is online but i cant understand whats being said) 3. Is there any games that you recomend? Thanks in advance! December 27, 200520 yr i got one, i regret wasting my money on it... all is, is a SP/advance with an extra screen and slight 3d capabilites which there are few games that take good advantage of it.. dont buy it, trust me at leaste wait another 6months to a year for the price to drop.. im sure the'll be launching a new Gamboy type thing soon...
December 27, 200520 yr I would've said no 3 months ago, but mario kart ds is awesome. It ran my life for a good while, and now I'm trying to figure out how to get online with it so it can continue running my life..
December 27, 200520 yr iv got both ds & psp ds sux hey im writing this on ma psp ,psp ftw they own :)
December 27, 200520 yr both DS and PSP are overpriced and lack any real depth in their games. Graphically the PSP is respectable, but the DS is a real letdown. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....

December 27, 200520 yr hey ya i say yu get a psp but if you insist, you have to get the onliine adapter from the us.or ship it and i wouldreccoend mario kart ds as a game qwerty
December 27, 200520 yr I have a DS and I like it much much better than the PSP. It fits more comfortably in your hands and you don't have to worry about buying $75 memory cards. The touch screen is awesome and you're not forced to use it as a primary control function, like certain games on PSP demand that you use the crappy analog stick over the control pad. Connecting to Nintendo WFC is really easy. To connect at home, all you need is a wireless router. I live in a small town and have had absolutely no problems connecting to Nintendo WFC outside of my house. Some good games are: Animal Crossing: Wild World, and Mario Kart DS. Those are the only DS games I've played so far. :D
December 27, 200520 yr Well, i have a PSP and DS. The only thing the DS has is Mario Kart, which is good. But, all said and done, PSP > DS. Better graphics. Better games. More capabilities. PSP, PSP, PSP, Is the place to be! ~Jimmie
December 27, 200520 yr 1. Yes. Because not all of its games are ports (I'm looking at you PSP) 2. Basically, you need a wireless router or a USB adaptor that can be bought off of the Nintendo Wi-fi site. 3. Where to start: -Super Mario 64 DS -Wario Ware: Touched -Advance Wars: Dual Strike -Castlevania DS -Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time -Mario Kart: DS -Animal Crossing: Wild World Don't even bother with the PSP. There's no need to buy one. Well, i have a PSP and DS. The only thing the DS has is Mario Kart, which is good. But, all said and done, PSP > DS. Better graphics. Better games. More capabilities. PSP, PSP, PSP, Is the place to be! ~Jimmie Don't forget about: -Viruses -All games being able to be bought on consoles -The fact that you can buy a DVD for cheaper than UMDs and have more features on the DVD -I'm just going to stop there Gamertag: Dances w NinjasRetired(Oh noes!)

PSP, PSP, PSP, Is the place to be! ~Jimmie Don't forget about: -Viruses -All games being able to be bought on consoles Do you see Pursuit Force of PS2 version? So no every games are also available in PS2 version also many people might like to play games through travel like Grand Theft Auto. -The fact that you can buy a DVD for cheaper than UMDs and have more features on the DVD. Yes that's one of reasons I still prefer DVDs over UMDs also UMD movie is no one of my reasons to bought PSP. But people might like to watch movie through travel similar as portable DVDs. -I'm just going to stop there Ok well I have PSP and DS. I bought DS on last March and I was enjoyed played with this handheld. But I start notice I feel like I make mistake by bought DS after I bought PSP a few weeks ago. PSP have many things what I want than DS have. Also I don't enjoy most DS games, which I bought since I got handheld. Every people have own views on DS and PSP. Lionheart_0, I recommand Super Mario 64 DS and Advance War 2 games.
December 30, 200520 yr Ok decision made.... grr i guess there goes a new syttem.... Anyone recomed any ps2 games then? (BTW, no racing, martial arts, or sports games) You make your decision on two people replying without giving any proper information. Look up some information at bigger 'qualified' websites with people that really know what they are talking about rather than what some kid on this forum tells you. (BTW, no racing, martial arts, or sports games) You make your decision on two people replying without giving any proper information. Look up some information at bigger 'qualified' websites with people that really know what they are talking about rather than what some kid on this forum tells you. What exactly makes websites more "qualified?" The majority of times, the website reviewers just play the system in question for a week or so, and the system owners actually own the system, know what it's like from a consumer standpoint, and have had to live with their purchase. Personally, I think this gives them a better insight than just going to Engadget or whatever and reading "DS: First impressions." Just a thought, no need to flame. On topic, I personally like the DS better than the PSP. Although the PSP supposedly has the analog nub, it didn't provide the range of control i thought it would, and there's really no way for you to tilt it a little bit in any direction (and my finger kept slipping off of it). Additionally, the PSP is a bit bigger and has half the battery life (according to my friend). And if you're into FPS games, the DS is better because of the PC-like control that it offers; it's only a matter of time before we get Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on the DS. However, the PSP's two obvious selling points are the graphics and the homebrew ability (but the DS has many homebrew projects going as well, it's just that the PSP has easier vulnerabilities to expliot). If you do get a DS, get Mario Kart, Super Mario 64, and Animal Crossing. DO NOT bother getting Need For Speed, it sucks, just as many of the other EA games for it. Right now, the only really decent games are first-party ones, with some stuff like Feel The Magic being the only good non-Nintendo games. But once they re-release all the 64 classics, the DS sales will rocket into the stratosphere. handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"
December 31, 200520 yr BTTF man listen go on http://www.ign.com and look at the trailer for Prince of persia for the nintendo DS then look at the one for PSP and tell me which u would rather play... PSP has dvd video quality UMD discs with a HUGE range of movies on it.. id prefer to play FPS`s on psp anyday.. screen is sharper and clearer.. it stores music photos and videos and has its own web browser. The psp isnt just a games console its an all in one
December 31, 200520 yr Hey terley, how about you listen for a change? You cannot say which is better out one game. One freakin game. This is like reasoning with a wall. :wall: :wall: :wall: You want reasons? Let's go statistics. DS outsold PSP and PS2. DS has more games rated higher than 9. The UMD discs costs a lot more than DVDs that can play in a much larger screen. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::

The UMD discs costs a lot more than DVDs that can play in a much larger screen. Personally, I think I would rather have a DS just because of Double Dash, but please cite where you got your statistics. For instance: PlayStation Portable: 43,644 (Annual: 580,120) PlayStation 2: 40,270 (Annual: 602,316) Nintendo DS: 22,446 (Annual: 429,545) Game Boy Advance SP: 11,013 (Annual: 197,776) GameCube: 3,357 (Annual: 70,016) Game Boy Advance: 477 (Annual: 6,253) Xbox: 345 (Annual: 4,606) But also... This year, the PSP has sold 362,355 units in Japan as of February 13th, while the DS has sold 305,679. As you can see, the DS has sold less in 2005. The DS launched first, so it has less momentum now. On the other hand, it has had an opportunity to sell more, with 1,495,596 units picked up by consumers in 2004. Meanwhile, the PSP only moved 482,252 last year. Total, that makes 1,801,275 DS units compared to 844,607 PSP units. That's not really fair, as the PSP hasn't been out as long, launching two weeks after the DS. To be fair, then, if we cut off the past two weeks' worth of DS sales (55,757), the new total figure is 1,745,518 DS units. That's about 900,000 units worth of difference. Call me an optimist, but I think that's pretty good, considering the DS' scrawny lineup thus far. I'm not arguing...just pointing out there is conflicting statistics out there. I can find enough statistics to support whichever side I want. I doubt you will ever get reliable insight on which system to get. Everyone is a fanboy of some sort. I don't play video games very often but even I would rather have the DS instead of the PSP because I'm somewhat of a Nintendo fanboy. I agree that the best bet is to read as many objectional reviews as you can (not just "First look" reviews) and try to decide then. Maybe even go to some stores and try them out...then ask the employees what they think (careful, they are probably very biased as well). But if you do all that you can get a good idea about which suites you better (which is really what its all about, right? Which suites you better - because we could argue for ages about which is really "better" and its all opinion).

My PC is the best FPS machine in the world (ok, not mine, but it could be...) Why get an all in one when you can have all of these seperately but much better quality? Runesmithie is right. I have a portable DVD player if I want to watch movies on the go. I have an MP3 player to play music on the go. These things do the job better than the PSP does, by far. And, I don't know about you, but I'd take ease of play and gameplay over graphics on a portable system. The DS has PC-like precision controlling FPS games, because of the touchscreen. Unless you've played Metroid, you wouldn't know what I'm talking about, but trust me when I say that you could play, say, Half-Life on it and still have the same level of control as on the PC. Face it, joysticks are more cumbersome. And not only that - the DS makes things like drawing, messaging, etc. easier with the touchscreen, and innovates. The PSP is just a watered-down, expensive, portable PS2 as far as I'm concerned. In short, I buy a game console to play games and have fun. At this time, the DS offers more promise in this area and suits that purpose better. handed me TWO tissues to clear up. I was like "i'm going to need a few more paper towels than that luv"
January 1, 200620 yr How about these numbers? Hardware Sales (platform - this week - last week - 2005 total - 02 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ 05 LTD) 1 Nintendo DS 597,628 - 408,770 - 3,761,175 - 5,256,771 2 PSP 161,332 - 95,689 - 2,089,869 - 2,572,221 3 PlayStation 2 97,475 - 55,342 - 1,890,200 - 11,295,406 4 GameCube 36,646 - 17,849 - 260,601 - 3,143,741 5 GameBoy Advance SP 35,764 - 19,098 - 680,264 - 5,675,317 6 Game Boy micro 19,261 - 14,432 - 403,854 - 403,854 7 Xbox360 5,674 - 8,623 - 58,267 - 58,267 8 Gameboy Advance 906 - 416 - 24,733 - 4,553,111 9 Xbox 141 - 182 - 11,895 - 472,330 Now compare those two numbers that are in bold, they are what each handheld has sold in total. Now with the DS roughly selling 2.6 million more than the PSP, they must be doing something right. Source: http://ds.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=3094

January 1, 200620 yr If you have a mp3 player/dvd player already, get a DS. If you want better games get a DS. If you want better control, get a DS. If you care more about graphics than gameplay, get a psp. If you need a mp3 player/video player get psp. If you have a lot of money to spend get a psp.
