February 19, 201115 yr I have trouble finding more info on soul splitting, and my questions about ss flicking concern some specific cases: 1) At TD's, I use ss mainly while melee'ing (cause I get through the range phase rather rapidly with a steel titan). However I can only ss when my first melee hit doesn't hit high at once. So now the question here is: If I'm really fast can I ss on the first hit? I use a chaotic rapier. How would I do it right? Should I right click - attack and quickly activate ss or the other way around? The first case might make me ss flick too late, while the latter risks me getting hit by the tormented demon, hence ruining the purpose of ss flicking. 2) At DK's I'd like to flick ss on Supreme (or maybe even Rex), while Prime is alive and maging me. When should I activate ss? Is it right after Prime launches his attack or when his attack is about to hit me (assume I'm an end away from Prime)? 3) When ranging frost dragons (I mostly melee them though), when do I flick ss? It's supposed to be as soon as the firing animation of the c'bow sets in right? Thanks in advance. February 20, 201115 yr You don't flick ss when ranging at frost dragons - you should be using eagle eye if not rigour. Tds, I think you'd need to activate ss first. February 20, 201115 yr At td's, you are supposed to ss flick when your first melee hit doesn't change prayer, so keep doing that.At dk's, prime is just too dangerous to even think about flicking- it can go horribly wrong. At frosts, you aren't taking any damage, and aren't even using curses, so i can't see any way you could use/need ss.
February 20, 201115 yr Pretty sure all the pros soul split flick at DKs, seen multiple vids of it being done that way. February 20, 201115 yr 1. It's hard to flick ss with rapier it would be a lot easier to time with cls or maul, but I'd say only try to ss if your first hit isn't 310+. I use a uni myself so I don't have experience ss'ing there 2. As long as you're praying when he launches his attack you can flick to ss and be safe, the hit is calculated at the start not when you see it hit you. 3. Ranging frost drags you take no damage anyway antifired and praying mage, I personally bring excalibur incase I do get hit by melee but rarely use it.

About the frosties, guess I took a bad example, was actually meant for healing in ranging situations in general, but combining point 2 and activating ss at start of animation I know the answer to that one. February 20, 201115 yr For any type of prayer clicking, you need to have the prayer active 1 tick before the animation happens. So, if you cast a spell and flick SS on while it is in the air, it won't work. SS on before you "hit". Not "hit" as in when you see the damage, but it has to be on before you get the exp for that hit. That is when the hit is considered done. It applies with all type of flashing. For protection flashing, it needs to be done before your enemy starts their hit Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum
February 20, 201115 yr Pretty sure all the pros soul split flick at DKs, seen multiple vids of it being done that way.Not many do it while there are multiple DK's on them, and particularly when one of them is prime. If you screw up, it's highly likely that you'll die, thus it's not reccomended to risk it like that. I haven't seen many ss flick jad, for example.

I haven't seen many ss flick jad, for example.prime hits 490 max, it's not likely that you'll get combo'd if you mess up on a hit, depending on when you safe, but if you aren't comfortable doing it, it's of course better to be safe than sorry. about jad - there's no real reason to ss flick him, especially since protection prays work a bit differently to his attacks.
February 20, 201115 yr At dagannoth kings, the earliest you can have soul split active and still be protected from Prime's attack is exactly when he fires off his attack. Any earlier, and you get hit,Assuming you're using a whip/rapier on supreme, it's simple to SS on him, since all you have to do is attack right after prime does and you just flash back and forth from SS to MagicFor soul splitting on rex, you can flash on a 3-1 interval. You can soul split flash 3 times, but then you MUST keep magic protect on for the next hit, or prime will hit you. Finding the start of this intervall is the hard part. Keep in mind this is very risky, as prime can hit 500+ Fisher/Woodcut------Me-----Miner/crafter----Stabber----Leecher ^Golvellius must be so proud^

I soul split flash every hit on both Supreme and Rex and I get hit 400s sometimes, but that's life. But I recommend doing what SirIzenheimcrab said. ;) About TDs, it's way harder to ss flash with a rapier when using a steel titan. I wouldn't really recommend using a rapier with a titan just because the clicking would be way too intense. If you can manage it for a full hour, you're pretty badass (this is all assuming you don't get perfect prayer switches every time; obviously if you're better at your prayer switches, you need to soul split less, so rapier would still be viable). To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
February 20, 201115 yr I guess I should add you can also soul split off prime the same was as rex if you're using a crossbow (if karils, soul split like when attacking supreme) (Izenhime*) Fisher/Woodcut------Me-----Miner/crafter----Stabber----Leecher ^Golvellius must be so proud^
