Spirit trees

the least useful of the three is port sarim, so i guess plant yours in brimhaven and etceteria

So not true.

Sarim is useful as a quick route into the tree network via cabbage port.

Brimhaven is useful on tree runs, and can also be a quick way into trees via chipped tabs now.

Ecteteria is only really useful for the bush patch.

So if you don;t do bush farming runs I'd say brim + sarim

If you do do bush runs I'd say ecteria and then your chocie of brim & sarim

True ma is a fast way into the network.

But from all I've read not many people do bush farming, and as a way to do mtk the ecteria spot sucks since fairy ring drops u much much closer to the castle, which renders ecteria spot more useless than sarim in my book.

I currently have 2 trees, one at miscellania the other at Brimhaven.

Since I don't really don't farm trees and what not I found miscellania the best bet for me for the easy access to the island to collect my stuff from my island workers.

Chipped teleport tablets are better for getting to brimhaven, and its easy to access the spirit tree network via g.e, i'd say plant it wherever you can get easiest to, none of them have any particular reason.

My lame drops:
6 Effigys
1 D Med - 1 D Dagger
1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody

I think the best summary of this thread is:

all 3 patchs have a use, but the uses of all 3 patchs can be easily substituted by other options. So it comes down to personal taste.

The only thing that you can 100% say for sure is:

People who farm bush patches find ecteria useful.

Brimhaven is useful for people who farm fruit trees.

That's 100% for sure, too.

;)

That one can be argued.

It depends on your route order etc.

But yeah I'd say its good for tht as tab > brim fruit tree then tree to gnome from tree n fruit then glider to village

My point was, they all have their uses. Like you said, it's a matter of personal taste - that being the case, I think it silly to then turn around and say that only one of them has a 100% use "for sure."

Arguably, there are also other methods of getting to the bush patch on Et Ceteria.

There are alternate methods to reach every farming patch that benefits from planting a Spirit tree nearby. It just depends on what you find more useful or convenient. For me personally, I hardly ever do bush runs; however, I do several tree runs a day, and one fruit tree run a day. That said, I find it most helpful to have my tree planted on Brimhaven.

Of course, it also helps that you can plant two Spirit trees after The Prisoner of Glouphrie.

My point was:

Bush patch aside all the other tree spot uses can be substituted for things of equal ease/speed.

Eg managing mtk fairy ring and tele scroll (scroll more so as it is nearer to maples and castle) are just as easy and comparable speed, especially for collecting, as tree to teaks is.

Where as the tree is much closer and much faster access to the bush patch than all other routes up there.

I'm still bitter they didn't end up adding a new location with that quest as originally mentioned in the BTS. Sure they later stated somewhere that the next quest would maybe give a new patch, but given how high level and rare the seeds are, I want 2-3 amazing new spots (Lunar Isle please and thank you). Or for the trees to be wearable as a hat.
