Would anyone be interested in importing hydrogen to help replace oil? Lower your carbon footprint, all that.

No more hydrogen for you, I remember Hegemony V3.

I don't remember what you're referring to?

You drove 300 hydrogen cars into my cities and blew them up.

Oh, those were cars with nukes in them. They might have been hydrogen bombs, but that's what the majority of nuclear weapons are. Hydrogen in of itself is explosive, but not on that large of a scale. Importing of hydrogen would help move your country into the future.

How about you start with the return of the slaves, and compensation for removing them from their families and home countries for years. You invaded Australia with little reason, whether or not Sydney was actually destroyed, it's still a needless act of aggression. You started these wars.

This is a bad idea for most people involved for this simple reason: creating a dependancy on a fellow taverner is BAD.

Also, considering Spain's relatively low GDP, any country can afford their own hydrogen economy, in one or two resets.

EDIT: Isn't Argentina winning the war?

It's more difficult for larger nations, I believe, since there's more to rehaul. Can always stop buying once they get it figured out to.

They lost close to two million people, so the last battle was very much a Pyrrhic victory, if a victory at all.

The larger they are, the more they have cash to perform the overhaul. And the sheer amount of hydrogen to fuel the US economy + would be staggering to create the transport infrastructure from Spain to the US, because of the extra precautions compared to oil.

OOC: Troops are very easy to replace, I think. Especially for low prestige nations, they are very cheap.

Argentina has a IAD of 33m, and a prestige of 19, so 38k a troop. If they were to spend every penny for a reset on troops, they'd get under 900,000. And they lost more than that in the last battle I think, so yea, it's a pretty Pyrrhic victory.

too bad you don't know anything about my country

If Argentina receives no word of compensation from the coalition states, it will be forced to retaliate.

I looked at the front page, and that's what it says. I'm not a member of the coalition, so you need to talk to Icu, Grim, France or the UK. I think France and the UK are still at war with you though, and I dunno about Grim.

The front page hasn't been updated since the game began, it's pretty frustrating since I don't know what countries are actually controlled by players as a result

Yeah, true, but still I don't think your GDP has changed dramatically. I dunno what's gone on with your prestige either, but it's probably not a major difference.

I assume Australia and the African countries you looted would like reparations for the hundreds of billions you looted aswell. They are the real victims here, you are the aggressor.

I wouldn't worry too much about Germany this time around, as far as invading for no reason goes. I could be wrong though. Where you been lately, Nero/Dusty?

Out and about, I pop in every now and again.

Oh goodie, my secret research is 3 days past definatly done... at twice the estimated max price (does that give any bonus since I didn't cut payment?).

Also research on splitting rust has a chance of being done soon, it had a min time of 2 days ago.

The US Dollar has suffered a major market crash as countries begin to secure their currencies against the Euro instead. Fortuately, for some hitherto unexplained reason, this results in +3% growth for everyone.

Please note that the Euro is worth 3.4 Dollars for any Wikipedia price grabs.

Prices:

Soliders: Prestige*600

Basic Tanks: Prestige*10,000

Basic Aircraft: Prestige*3,000

Basic Destroyers: 150 Million

Basic Subs: 150 Million

Basic Cruisers: 250 Million

Anything you design yourself will be given a price, and stuff you get on Wikipedia will get a different price as well.

There are two reasons for this change over:

First, Germany is well respected and economically prosperous, while America is seen as fundermentally evil and is in an economic blackhole thanks to its war with Canada.

Second, There will, occasionally, be economic changes like this. Usually because prices have risen because everything is going great, prices have fallen because everything is going to hell, or because a certain currency is doing considerably better than the current currency.

What this means for you?

+3% growth and minor annoyance with a slightly different system. If you prefer to keep using Dollars you can and I will translate, just be sure to say 'Dollars', otherwise you will end up spending a load extra.

does that give any bonus since I didn't cut payment?).

No

Anyway, report time:

Germany:

The German special forces have finally been taken off alert, except around labs, GASP and other areas of scientific interest.

In America German and Canadian troops begin a mild counter offensive, though it failed to gather any momentum due to the fatigue of the troops, the lack of avalible troops, and aircraft/artillary pieces. With the fresh units built in Germany still completing their training.

The Canadian-American war ground to an unsatisfactor halt, as Canadian-German forces countered with overwhelming strength at any singular point, when the Americans launched their assaults, largely thanks to American battle plans being provided to them by anoynomous parties.

China, Japan and Germany sign a peace treaty.

Germany has also released Eurofighter 3 Variants, of the Blitz and Storm Varity.

Argentina/Coalition:

Having scraped the last barrel of oil clean, the Argentine Air and Naval force set off this year, making sure to destroy as much of the Anglo-Franco-African force as possible, before it landed on the shore.

At the same time Argentine Land Forces surged the beacheads.

In places the combined force was enough to entirely destroy the landing forces, but in others this turned into a nightmare, with Overwhelming Coalition Air Superiority, combined with Cruise Missiles, combined with Anti-Air Guns, totally annhilated the Argentine forces, which had been skimmed by Argentine high command for an invasion force. Ergo was weaker than normal.

The Coalition failed, entirely, to capitalise on this, prefering instead to dig in and lick their wounds, with large potions of their war effort defend Africa.

Overall nothing significant happened, apart from a Brazilian News Team getting hit by a stray cruise missile.

The South Africans, used to relying on data collected by field agents, completely missed the obvious signs of an enemy preparing to launch a sea invasion, and foolishly believed that the Argentine fleet was bottled up in harbour, save a few prowelling submarines.

Thus, when the Argentine fleet broke out, as one cohesive lump, the Coalition was staggered, and early raids, by Argentina, sunk 2 of the 3 Aircraft carriers deployed by Britian/France, which limited the effective raiding power as the massive, 1 million strong, army made its way across the ocean.

The two navies sparred day and night for almost a week, with West Coast Africans rushing to prepare for the imminant landing parties, which became more and more localised around South Africa, until everyone was certain that would be the final location.

With the majority of its land forces away in South America the South African state was, more or less, at the mercy of the Argentine Hoard, who overcame the meger defences within a few short hours, and set about on a mass pillage and looting spree.

The United African Army, some 500,000 troops, hurriedly gathered by the States themselves to defend their fellow nation (though more likely because they fear an Argentine advance into their territory as well), progressed south, with some sporadic fighting, though for the most part the Argentine and African forces avoided each other. The Africans checking the Argentines didn't go too far into their territory, the Argentines only looting as much as they could carry.

Within a few weeks, while the rest of the world was still deciding what to do, the Argentine army/navy loaded up and set sail home, carrying with them some 30 Billion(102 Billion Dollars) Euros in hardware, art and other such stuff.

Argentines also rounded up some 300,000 prisoners. The world press initially thought these were replacement slaves, but the Argentine Government later declared that these were 'a pound of flesh', or payback for the deaths of Argentine Civilians in the unjust war perpetrated against them.

The prisoners were forced to dig a mass grave and where then ordered to conduct ritual combat in the style of Ancient Africans. Argentine Spokesmen said 'We wanted them to feel that we respected their culture, so we relieved them of their modern trappings and allowed them to return to their tribal state.'

The Last Man Standing was originally promised freedom, though he was eventually shot to 'Show the South Africans that even in Victory there is defeat.'

The Argentine army then departed, suffering from sustained bombing runs throughout the duration, which was the source of most of the casualties of the expedition, though also the source of many of the Coalition air losses.

Casualities:

Americans: 20,000

Canadians: 14,000

Germans: 4,000

Argentine: 1,100,000, 1,200 Aircraft, 9 Submarines, 3 Destroyers, 100 tanks.

Africa: 180,000, 650 SAM Platforms, 32 Tanks. 500,000 Civilians.

NPC Coalition: 210,000, 1,900 Aircraft, 15 Destroyers, 2 Aircraft Carriers, 7 Tanks.

Brazil: 4 Civilians

(If there are MAJOR problems with Euros I will do something)

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Archi, how much better are realistically priced destroyers, subs, etc.? Because a destroyer in real life costs 5 billion+, which is what I paid before we determined those prices, and I'd hope it's significantly better than a 150m one.

Argentina, I hope you guys are having a lot of kids, because your population's dropped about 15% in the past few years.

America, would you accept a white peace?

Reasons:

This war may be drawn out if it continues, it'll ruin both of our economies. As shown by the fact that the dollar is now replaced by the euro.

If you do win and conquer Canada, you'd still be viewed as an international ass, also canada will probably still have resistance

If you end up getting beaten, you'd be viewed as an international ass, you'd gain nothing and you have a ruined economy

It just doesn't seem a smart option for us to continue, and Canada is an ally of Germany, thus I can't let it go.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Basic Destroyers: 150 Million

Basic Subs: 150 Million

Basic Cruisers: 250 Million

Firstly, the Destroyers/Subs cost 500 million originally. They now cost 510 million if we converted currency from Euros to Dollars(at a ratio of 1:3.4)

The Delhi Class Destroyer is worth 2137.11 crore (which means ten million rupees).

Which converts as 478,418,063 USD.

Furthermore:

The construction of a Nimitz Class Super Carrier is 4.5 Billion Dollars.

The Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer costs 1.1 Billion Dollars, with the hull and such being worth 322 Million Dollars.

While I am happy to refund you the 3.9 Billion Dollars overspend on the destroyers/subs, you can also say that these vessles are 'State of the Art' and therefore have a bonus.

Though at 4* the price its not terribly worth it.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I was basing the subs off of Virginia Class, and Ohio class, and the Destroyer off of the most modern British one I think, for reference. I'll take whatever I overspent, though keep the aircraft carrier the same as the Nimitz is pretty awesome.

Spain announces the construction of a massive nuclear power plant, estimated to be completed on the 1st. It will provide a huge amount of power, and also be much safer than existing nuclear, and much better protected.
