MyPurpleCrayon
I don't go to schol right now. I got expelled from all public schools that are located in my city. I am going to enroll in a private school called Central Academy, I heard it's tough there. There is barb wired fences all around it, It has no sports either. When I get there, I am going to be on strict probation as the letter said. :x I am going to attempt and start off fresh. Oh man that blows. I know what it's like to be the rebel child, empathy. Back in my old days. Hope you start of nice at this new school, best of luck to ya. :D Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so. bloodkilla87
Hate when the teacher takes 50 minutes to explain, then we only get 20 to work, and then we have 20 minutes of homework. I get headaches sometimes in school, like my body goes numb, my lips and stuff, so its hard to work :( And i got drama as a option in school and im really bad at it

logic-is-overrated
Do they have homework in college? I understand you probably have to study for tests and you have the occasional essay but is there any literal homework like answering questions out of the textbook? This is the way the world ends. Look at this [bleep]ing shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. And with a whimper, I'm splitting, Jack.
ice_ring
I like school Ok, love biology and geometry, but HATE civics and sociology (my teacher in those classes is a little on the uneducated side). As for socialization, we have early before school, lunch, and gym. On cold mornings before school all the people in our "group" head out to my Explorer and blast metal. It rocks :P Our lunch is usually nasty, except for nacho day...our school makes the BEST nachos every. period. Most of my friends are older (11th and 12th grade with me only in 10th) so they don't take gym with me, but I hang with some of the nerdy 10th graders and freshmen during that class. Phil
Do they have homework in college? I understand you probably have to study for tests and you have the occasional essay but is there any literal homework like answering questions out of the textbook? I'm not sure about college, but in Uni you are supposed to do work on your own accord. Like the lecturer would tell you to read some part of a book (and maybe complete some questions that are given in the book) which would be relevant to the next lecture, but they don't really care if you have done it or not (ie. they wont call your parents if you have not done the work asked.). By the time you reach that stage you should want to learn and not have to be forced. That's what they are thinking. So yes and no, about the homework question. LMAO, in my school, when stuf isnt going on, the auditorium is used as a drama class room, and there are couches and comfy chairs in there. Its sooo funny cause they get to lay on the couches and stuff. To bad no other room is like that.... and i didnt take drama Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! ____
/ stuff / Well, you can pass Uni from just going to the lecturers and doing the work in tutorials / labs / etc. However any kind of "homework" is generally there for those who want more than just a pass. assassin_696
Exams are the bane of my existence, it's not that i'm bad at them (far from it), it's just the whole revision and pressure thing is horrible, there's more to life than exams but they seem so important. I need to learn not to care so much :P Apart from that school is great, the facilities are great I have wonderful teachers and some great friends, but everything seems to be about exams nowadays instead of learning for the sake of learning and wonder. Yeah, I agree. I hate hate hate exams, and teachers who give you a grade only based on how well you did on her/his exams are just dumb. Everyone can do well on an exam, it's basically just a question of if you're lazy and don't study, or if you study a lot. Quizzes that the teacher doesn't tell you about beforehand are ok though, because you prove what you really know. I have one teacher who doesn't believe in tests. He's awesome! Whereas, if you study a lot for a test, then its just like the quiz because you are being tested on what you know (or should know). :?

Well, the thing is you usually forget basically everything you've studied. I mean the teacher teaches you something, and then he/she gives you a test on it. You go home and study for it, but you'll eventually forget most of it later. So basically you only know the details for a few weeks. At the end of the term, is it fair to get an A for that anyway? If you have tests or quizzes that the teacher doesn't tell you about, you can test your real knowledge, like see how much you know without revision. I retain an awful lot of knowledge from studying for tests. The point of school afterall is to learn - if they only test you on what you know instead of pushing you to know more and then testing you, its not worth it. If you can't retain any knowledge you've learned after taking a test, you aren't studying properly.
Hulk12
I used to think of school just the time between fun. Now it's alot diffrent. I have way more computer classes that are informative and give me a chance to flex my skills in public. Then I have my Missouri History thats my best class. Before I thought this was just another boring state but I was wrong. For example the list of famous people from Missouri is actually pretty long. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pe ... m_Missouri
jabraulter
Well, it's about to start again and I'm excited. I love school, I love the social part, and all of my friends. What do you guys think about school? Favorite thing and worst thing about it? I hate the kids that smoke at school, and moronic teachers, but that's really all that I hate about it. :P Why, I do believe I've just found a friend :) Sounds like me...down to the whole, "I hate kids that smoke at school," part. Yeah, I think I enjoy it. Homework is now fun, but I really enjoy classes that I get to debate in and give my opinion in such as my AP Government class or my AP Human Geography class. Some classes are dull, don't get me wrong, but there are some I really enjoy. My junior year, I will get to take a course called "Theory of Knowledge," which bascially discusses how we learn, which I am very excited about. it sounds very interesting. It's going to be tough, I can tell already with my three AP classes as a sophomore (d'oh). Where do you live? Add me on MSN, we can talk IB ;) [email protected]
