Har'Lakk the Riftsplitter help... (dungeoneering boss)

Featured Replies

So i am a lvl 70 combat been doing floors aorund lvl 20 solo (40 dungeoneering) trying to get to 50 but i keep running into that damn green demon boss....

Now i am aware that you are supposed to use magic, as i havent bothered working on magic, is it necessary to use mgic to kill him?

IT seems my melee attacks never hit him, and when you pray against him he drains prayer. Is it even worth it to try to use protect magic? His magic spells hit me for like 150's and ridiculous numbers when i dont use magic pray so i really don't know what to do here. any help would be appreciated.

To make him a bit more bearable, you can try Flashing Protection from Magic to lose less prayer points. Also, make Stat Restore, and Cure Poison Potions.

Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.

? Don't some of his attacks disable your mage pray? I think that's what the OP is having trouble with.

Unless you can gather the ingredients as you're running DG's - making these potions probably won't be effective for either exp/killing the boss.

To be honest, dungeoneering to level 60ish is just hellish.

Just try to use lamps/penguin points like everybody has said until you have access to abandons.

Sometimes DGS runs floors 1-29 C1 (do this after you can start on aba's)

I wouldn't worry about it so much - just either try to level past this w/ lamps/penguin points/etc or just grind it and take a few deaths.

Yeah i find it hard to kill that boss without getting 3 deaths on him alone :\ and yeah he does drain prayer when you use protect magic only.

I highly recommend that you stop dungeoneering and start using lamps/peng points/tog to get to 50+. Harlakk is a horribly difficult boss for anyone of any level, solo or group.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

he's very weak to stab.

if you have a spear/rapier, he's easy to just soulsplit.

He used to be a joke boss back when spears were still viable.

He even gets me in c1s sometimes.

You just gotta run away from his special attacks.

He doesn't disable prayer. He only decreases prayer, but if you flash, it is less of a chance to drain prayer.

It is definitely worth using magic if you don't have a good stab weapon.

I also make runes over using hex (79 rc, 98 mage).

Only use prom 2h if doing c1s.

Using protect/deflect magic helps somewhat, it causes him to only use the grey sludge attack (which is magic based anyway) and the portals (which you should run away from).

If you have a high enough prayer, you can survive for pretty long without taking damage. It drains prayer though, but even then just keep praying.

He's easy to kill with stab. Don't know what the OP's having trouble about.

I'm not an efficienado.

He is annoying from what I've dealt with him, but I've found out that when he start laying those things on the floor run around the barrels and try to hide till he gets through..But you will still take lots of damage too

If you hide behind the barrels, the only thing he does are portals.
