May 25, 201115 yr 479 max with broads, void, xrange, rigour. 392 with full crystal bow and the same. You lose 20 accuracy (up to 28 with pernix top) and increasing with each degrade. The max lowers, too. The crossbow attacks every 5 ticks on rapid, the crystal bow 4 ticks I think? So that's 5 bow hits per 4 crossbow hits, e.g. 1960 vs 1916 max damage in 20 ticks. I never said you'd be using broads though, crossbows should be used with rune, ruby or diamond bolts. For rune bolts, the max is 522 for 2088 max damage in 20 ticks. Fyi, crystal bow is every 3 ticks on rapid. Does that change things? EDIT: I'm skipping TDs and just grinding slayer until bolt racks come down again. It's just ridiculous right now.
May 25, 201115 yr Crystal bows are 4 ticks rapid. There really isn't a point in using them especially if you don't use the degrade trick. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Crystal bow is more expensive than rune bolts. Derp. I've already got the recharge cost down to its minimum from before xbows came out. Does this, coupled witht he recent change to crystal bows and the fact that I have two of the things change your decisions?
May 25, 201115 yr I only compared Ranged weapons against a person with 136 Ranged defence armor and an effective Defence level of 156. The crystal bow came out worse than Karil's crossbow, Zaryte bow, rune crossbow with runite bolts, magic shortbow with God arrows, chaotic crossbow with runite bolts, hand cannon, rune knives and magic longbow (sighted) with God arrows. It's only better than a dark bow :P
May 25, 201115 yr I assume it's better than rune xbow and broads, correct?a full crystal bow is ~2.13% more base DPS than rune xbow and broads. varying very slightly based on ranged level.
