I will be going through the list and changing things, so that is just the placeholder for a basic outline right now.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

Changes I have made

Middle East is now +0.8 weird tech -0.25 tech, effectively because having all your provinces in there (Mather) would have no technological process out of weird tech.

Spanish America is now +200 Manpower -0.5 Cash, because otherwise they'd have no money.

Colonisation Rules:

If you would like to colonise you have to send base 5 cash and 1000 manpower, that would grant you a 50% base chance, before reduction to suceed at the colonisation, while 10 cash is 100% succeed chance before reduction. Reductions are decided by a dice roll, and if you fail the reductions are permanent to the province, so I wont rerol the province.

Wait, since my weird tech is by far greater than any other tech levels here, does that mean my nation is a savant of the weird?

How long do you reckon it would take me to create a virtual world?

You mean something people can connect to and have senses inside the virtual world? Err, I'm not sure, sounds pretty high tech and would require a massive server.

High-tech indeed, but this is more than half a century in the future and I am pretty much the most skilled nation at such weird technology.

Well, with the exponentially increasing levels, it seems that it will take a rather long time. :P

I'd give a guestimate of around 25 years, but I don't actually see the benefit.

Me neither, it could have some uses but that would require further, more specific research. I wanted to know because that gives me a rough estimate of how skilled I am.

Am I correct in assuming the same technology would take about 80-90 years for the US?

(Sorry Rocco, was early morning when I was doing it =P)

@ Mather:

USA has a 0.5 Tech growth, so assuming 200 provinces, they grow by 100 per year.

Level 5 Wierd Tech would be 200+200+400+800+1,600=3,200.

Ergo, 32 years, if they only did Wierd Tech.

Of course, plopping down projects left right and center to speed up tech research would help considerably.

As to the savant nature of your country:

I would assume that if you only funded super tech, and ignored all the basic, rational, advancements:

Aka Sword to Glock, rather than Sword to Steel Sword, to Halberd, to Pike, to Cannon to Pistol to Glock.

Then your country would be technologically backwards, but still have cutting edge science.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

So it would take... 239+2 = 549,755,814,088 years for the US to reach my level of weird tech if they were 4 times as big as they could start as. By that time the sun will be dead for many times its lifetime and the universe would probably have imploded/expanded into the big freeze.

Since you are level 0, and they are level 0, and they grow at 0.5 per year, and you grow at 0.25+0.8 (1.05), then they would never catch up to you if they had equal provinces, and would require 210% of your number of provinces to break even with you.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

That implies that everyone will rush weird tech.

So yeah, I'm not sure there's anything else to work out for people, everyone seems to be fine with the changes and the rules, so we can start. I'll update the first post soon.

Just to note, you start off with 5X Manpower and Cash

Also please will you post some sort of RP background, so I know how you want to play your nation.

Oh yes.

Okay I'll do that right now.

Finished:

Capital

None

Large Ship

Frigate----- OFFENSIVE:3-----HULL:4-----SPEED:2 COST: 30 Cash, 2500 Manpower

Battleship----OFFENSIVE:5----HULL:3----SPEED:1 COST: 35 Cash, 2500 Manpower

Small Ship

Escort----- OFFENSIVE: 1--------HULL: 2-------- SPEED: 3 Cost: 10 Cash, 1000 Manpower

Cruiser---- OFFENSIVE: 2--------HULL: 2-------- SPEED: 2 Cost: 10 Cash, 1000 Manpower

Transport

Carrier----OFFENSIVE: 0----- HULL: 3------SPEED: 3 Cost: 15 Cash, 1000 Manpower

Cargo Ship---- OFFENSIVE: 0----- HULL:4----- SPEED: 2 Cost: 20 Cash, 1500 Manpower

Fleet Skill will improve the fleet as a whole, but a FleetSkill%, so 1 fleet skill increases the entire fleeets offensive (let's say 3 battleships, so 15 offensive, by 0.15)

Although massive fleets will have lower maneuvarability, if they are fighting much smaller fleets, such as a gigantic fleet attempting to take out 1 ship.

Maneuvarability only takes effect during gigantic fleets v small fleets, otherwise ignore it. Fleetskill is generally for large v large.

National Idea: State Shinto

"Yeah, those are ours too."

Effect: Bonus when fighting to defend home soil (Includes attacking someone on home soil to get them off, but generally, defending Japanese territory)

The year was 2070, a new age for the Japanese people. The rise to greatness since the end of world war two had come quickly, but at the cost of the pride for the Japanese people. Now that the Americans were no longer a world power, it was time for Japan to reassume its mantle of greatness, but this time, through peace. The loss of American military protection meant that Japan was without defence, so the Emporer called on the ancient military traditions and the duty to the emporer.

Now that Japan's armies have been rebuilt and its people reinvigorated, it is the duty of the emporer and the Japanese people to lead the way forward through the development of advanced defensive armies and the creation of national institutions.

why is my nation so [cabbage] comparatively with everyone else?

what does manpower do, if it's constrained by 'cash' (lol) then its useless having a high manpower since my cash and tech is abysmal
