Just because the government is allied to the United States it doesn't mean the people are allied to the US.

You are trying to relate the Qua'ran to the bible however the Qua'ran doesn't work like the bible, the things in the bible are wishy-washy anologies that usually contradict each other. The Qua'ran is a book of commands, nothing contradicts anything (newer and more violent passages supercede the old passages). With the bible you can sort of say: 'Ayyyy, he didn't mean that' but in the Qua'ran you can't say that and that is why there are more Islamic extremists then there are Christian extremists (also including the fact that Islamic countries usually support extremism and sharia law).
