Posted a list of demands on the RSOF EoC forums, was I too mean?

 

Few things:

 

Please add tooltips to the stars on the equipment interface that give an actual numerical value for the equivalent armour rating against a style (e.g. wearing ranged armour that gives a total of 722 armour to give a tooltip that says 1100 when hovered over defense vs magic).

 

Make sure that "All" class armour isn't invisibly penalising us by shifting our defense affinity. I did two quick tests against Vyrelords, one with 722 ranged class armour and another with 722 ranged + 77 All class armour. I had worse defence in the second case.

 

Small fixes:

 

Remove the crit bonus from the 10 year veteran hood and put it on the cape - I believe this is what you intended.

Makes drapes better than 0.1% crit - even team capes/coloured capes give 1% crit to all.

Make Penance armour tier 50 to be in-line with Rune.

Make Fremennik helms tier 50 or higher, as they are originally supposed to be better than Rune in the live game.

Delete the LP bonus on Legends Cape, or add it to Max/Completionist Cape.

Stat Seers' Headbands, Fremennik Sea Boots and Karamja Gloves to be in-line with other task set gear.

Blue vambraces give 135LP - this is the value of a level 45 armour, not level 50 armour. Fix this.

Differentiate Zerker (i) from Onyx (i) - give one better armour or something, just make them different and not have one crush the other.

Upgrade Amulet of Accuracy to 3.2% crit to be in-line with Strength and Magic amulets, and to round out the tier.

Fremennik blade is statted at level 1, make it 40 to be in-line with Adamant as in the live game.

Royal dhide body should be 1495 armour, not 1485 armour.

Black bolts are statted at level 35, nerf them to 25.

Upgrade Berserker necklace to 4.2% crit and drop the prayer bonus, to make it in-line with 3rd age amulet and (soon to be) amulet of ranging, and to round out the tier.

Mage arena capes give a whooping 2.5% crit at tier 50, is this intended, and shouldn't they be 60?

God staves are statted at level 1, restat them at leve 60.

Bound primal plateskirt&longsword, celestial robetop&legs, ccs and flameburst. Ready for EoC I guess. Much thanks to everyone who hunted with/for me :).

 

Also getting quite close to 99 agility, 99 woodcutting and 105 dungeoneering.

 

I edited the official RSwiki combat basics page, because someone thought it was a good idea to start with "the first thing you have to know is what a combat level is and what you can do with it" which is not only untrue, but also rather blunt and unhelpful to the searching newb.

I just momentum everything now, really. Had some fun with ability rolling but my fingers have called it quits, save it for real PvE instead.

Yeah, me too. Ability spamming is too damn obnoxious. Takes way too much focus, too.

I haven't done much, but ability spamming doesn't seem worth it on mobs anyways. Save abilities, for, you know, things that are something resembling difficult to kill. As opposed to something the game wants you to kill several hundred of.

Found something interesting with dual wielding. Because the game for whatever reason won't let two attacks land at the same time, then if you're dual wielding a Fastest offhand (4) and Fast mainhand (5) weapon the offhand actually has to slow down to match pace with the mainhand, effectively becoming a Fast weapon.

 

Interestingly this means that EEE, the best offhand weapon (tier 89 damage), becomes worse when used with a CLS.

 

This also means that Vine Whip + EEE gives .3% better raw DPS than dual CLS. lol.

Also bought more broad arrows, should have enough for ~98 fletch or so. Will get 99 fletch before Livid is done at this rate.

 

Tip for Livid fletchers: using the left-click inventory option 'convert' on lunar lumber stops fletching, the action bar cast spell > lumber does not.

Tests were all done on dummies, not carrying the required runes, no potions, no prayers, no weaknesses. All recorded max hits are critical hits. Multiplier equals the recorded critical hit, divided by the damage shown in the equipment interface minus 99 (magic level).

 

As you can see, abilities which are supposed to have multipliers close to the bottom three lines, actually have much higher multipliers, up to 2.5 times as high as shown in-game for Fire Strike.

 

With a sample of 3 hits with 3 different abilities using fire strike, Metamorphosis seems to grant 125% damage, not 150%.

 

tl;dr fire wave > fire surge
