I've heard of the theory before that lower level spells are more accurate, but when I tested this with Wind Strike and Fire Surge, both spells had the exact same accuracy. Saradomin_Mage
I got into a thread about Whisper vs Fury on the RSOF, and I seem to recall somewhere that strength bonuses were always superior to attack bonuses, until they became equal at 50% accuracy. This is actually the case, right? In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

This is actually the case, right?Yep, barring rounding/extremely high def:hp ratios (the infamous 10 lp corporeal beast). Whisper has +20 total where fury has +18, and whisper has higher strength, so it always results in better raw damage output. There may be select cases where the +15 def bonus would increase effective dps more because you need to eat less, but that seems extremely unlikely to me. Saradomin_Mage
Is there proof for this somewhere? Someone seems convinced that at low (10%) accuracy it'd be more worthwhile to increase attack bonuses versus strength bonuses, though I thought that even against a monster with infinite defence roll strength = accuracy (at that point). In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
Quyneax
Uh, at 10% accuracy, you probably have other things to worry about, but that aside... It's about % increase afaik, of course +64 attack bonus added to +0 doubles your effective attack roll, where +64 strength bonus on +256 only adds 20%. But in RS, there simply isn't any way to get a difference that big between attack and strength bonus. I think the highest is something like berserker ring, necklace, Pernix etc. but nobody really uses that. Of course if I'm wrong I'm sure Hedgehog will show up with a full explanation in triplicate in impeccable Latin. Hedgehog
You need 64 att bonus to double your attack roll. But the amount it takes to double your strength roll is dependent on your effective strength because of this:
Nien
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, all knowing blog. Does anyone in here flip often? And if so, what items would best (do you think, or atleast a couple guesses) for flipping with 4-4.5M? I'm currently playing around with bulk items (items that you buy ~25k of and sell for a marginal profit of 5-10 gp) and some pricier items such as Verac's Brassard (which moved out of a good flipping margin, sadly). Bxpprod
Elephants are large land mammals in two extant genera of the family Elephantidae: Elephas and Loxodonta,[1] with the third genus Mammuthus extinct.[2] Three living species of elephant are recognized: the African bush elephant, the African forest elephant and the Indian or Asian elephant;[3] although some group the two African species into one[4] and some researchers also postulate the existence of a fourth species in West Africa [bleep] OFF HOW ARE U SO [bleep]ING LUCKY U PIECE OF [bleep]ING SHIT [bleep] [bleep] [wagon] MUNCHER

Quyneax
Actually logged in today, did the new quests. They are fun. With the 1k xp reward total (+ about 50k xp from the spins I got as rewards) I am now closer than ever to maxing! *cough*. Also traded in my Bandos, Glaivens, Ragefires and some cash in for Virtus top and Subjugation boots. Can't be bothered getting the rest of that set because come EoC Virtus will be better anyway, and 1300+ lp is pretty nice. But the boots are actually 3m cheaper which is just about the cash I have left now :P. 1 Supporter of Zaros | Quest Cape owner since 22 may 2010 | No skills below 99 | Total level 2595 | Completionist Cape owner since 17th June 2013 | Suggestions 99 summoning (18th June 2011, previously untrimmed) | 99 farming (14th July 2011) | 99 prayer (8th September 2011) | 99 constitution (10th September 2011) | 99 dungeoneering (15th November 2011) 99 ranged (28th November 2011) | 99 attack, 99 defence, 99 strength (11th December 2011) | 99 slayer (18th December 2011) | 99 magic (22nd December 2011) | 99 construction (16th March 2012) 99 herblore (22nd March 2012) | 99 firemaking (26th March 2012) | 99 cooking (2nd July 2012) | 99 runecrafting (12th March 2012) | 99 crafting (26th August 2012) | 99 agility (19th November 2012) 99 woodcutting (22nd November 2012) | 99 fletching (31st December 2012) | 99 thieving (3rd January 2013) | 99 hunter (11th January 2013) | 99 mining (21st January 2013) | 99 fishing (21st January 2013) 99 smithing (21st January 2013) | 120 dungeoneering (17th June 2013) | 99 divination (24th November 2013) Tormented demon drops: twenty effigies, nine pairs of claws, two dragon armour slices and one elite clue | Dagannoth king drops: two dragon hatchets, two elite clues, one archer ring and one warrior ring Glacor drops: four pairs of ragefire boots, one pair of steadfast boots, six effigies, two hundred lots of Armadyl shards, three elite clues | Nex split: Torva boots | Kalphite King split: off-hand drygore mace 30/30 Shattered Heart statues completed | 16/16 Court Cases completed | 25/25 Choc Chimp Ices delivered | 500/500 Vyrewatch burned | 584/584 tasks completed | 4000/4000 chompies hunted
