Jiblix and Ken Genosis Demodded Over Speaking Out

Looking at the video jiblix uploaded 3 hours ago, hes the biggest attention [bleep] on the face of the earth.

I don't think so. I think he knows that he is in a good position to voice an opinion people will hear since he's currently on top. I thnink he's trying to strike while the iron is hot.

I'm like a hot mess, but without the alcohol.

Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

I just checked the Golden Joystick site and they are still taking votes. You still have a chance to get your votes(s) in.

...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.

Only Jagex would ever ask for votes.

Owait.

Also a news post up asking for votes.

In all fairness, I found several other developers asking for votes when I Binged Golden Joystick Awards 2011 voting.

Hahahaha I saw that too and couldn't help but laugh. I think it's pretty much garanteed that rs will lose this year's award.

From what I was told, SOMEONE (or more like a group of people) who also plays rs, SUGGESTED Riotgames staff to make an announcement about the award, and it looks like they did rofl. Now that's what I call even conditions, let's see if rs can win against a game with more playerbase using their very own move, oh the irony lmao.

Another thing I noticed, the "popularity" towards LoL has changed drastically recently, before they made that announcement, LoL portal on golden joystick award site had way less comments/tweets/circles/etc. than rs one, but in just 3 days they have passed runescape in every aspect but comments with an increase of 2000% (20x), and comments passed rs ones with an increase of 150% (1.5x). Not only that, their youtube channel is ranked 3rd on monthly subscribers AND GROWING. If only other games did the same thing for previous years awards lol.

Jagex, I advice you to pick a cheek and prepare it for the super bit... slap of reality you have coming.

What irony? You act like the majority of people playing Runescape are voting for Jagex this year. Have you, like, not been reading this thread or the thread on the RSOF (if it's still there)? Granted, they're only a small sample size, but I'd be willing to bet that it's a pretty good gauge of public sentiment. LoL winning would be more about people being disastisfied with Jagex than LoL being that good.

(Btw> I voted for LoL's, and haven't ever played that game.)

Edit: Also, I'm a little late here, but I wouldn't be using followers on a social networking site to adequately gauge how popular a MMO is, for if we did, you'd have to agree that LoL is more popular than is WoW.

The irony is that Riotgames decided to use jagex's move to get votes, and win using it. I'm not acting like people are voting for jagex, in fact, if you look at the comments on rs portal at golden joystick site you'll see most are negative comments xD. And LoL winning would be about their own community actually getting to know about the award.

Also, this is the infamous message someone sent to riotgames. Source prefers to remain anonymous for obvious reasons.

"Petty" and "Childish" come to mind.

Not to mention a laugh at the "We, the few legit players left."

When are these little games going to end?

RIP Michaelangelopolous

When they announce the winner I guess, either way, I'm laughing my ass off already. This is turning into a "who says more bs about the other" thing, lmao.

tumblr_m6mcuojTED1qlz68ro1_500.gif

You make it sound like this is such a big deal, and that it's going to chang everything. When, in actual fact, it's meaningless.

Sure, no problem if people don't want to vote for RuneScape, jus' cause. But creating scripts and clients to vote against it?

Childsplay.

RIP Michaelangelopolous

You make it sound like if I was the one who wrote that message lol... I know about it because I got friends who play both, and I was told about this couple of days ago, which actually made me laugh, even more after reading the message. I'm not making it a big deal, I'm just enjoying how Jagex makes it a big deal, and then another game uses the same move to make them realize how little they are when even conditions are put into place. Let's be honest, if every single game nominated advertised the award, how far you think runescape will get?

I don't think you know what irony is. RiotGames won't win "using Jagex's own tactics" against them, but will win simply because a large portion of the Runescape fanbase isn't voting for Runescape this year and is, in fact, voting for other games in protest. The Runescape fanbase has been talking about voting against Runescape in the GJA long before RiotGames started to advertise voting in the GJA to their playerbase (mid-August vs. early/mid-October). Do you really not understand this, or are you trying to become the new Pal?

And, really, whoever send that message is an idiot. (S)he kind of misses the point of voting against Jagex.

Why do you think I find this funny?

And by Irony, I repeat yet again, it would be funny if LoL wins because they decided to announce the award like runescape did on previous years, while LoL didn't. I don't care where most voters come from, just pointing out how that would be funny if it happens. I know people are not voting for runescape, I didn't either, I voted for LoL actually. RuneScape won last 2 years because they advertised it while the rest of the games didn't, now we got LoL doing the same thing, with a bigger playerbase (that alone is enough to win the award as most people who play LoL and are now voting/voted already didn't even know of the award to start with), what do you think is going to happen? (add on top of that the people who play rs and are voting against it). See what I mean?

Don't take so much credit on rs people voting against jagex as if it was crucial, runescape actual playerbase is very small compared to LoL. All they had to do is announce it so people get to know the award, to win it, and they did already, rs players voting againt rs are just the cherry on the top.

That's where I got that message from, like s/he posted it on facebook or youtube I think that is? and then reposted on forums, altho the poster made it clear s/he would rather remain anonymous, it is very clear s/he's a rs player, post was deleted/moved and the next day, bam! announcement lmao...

LoL uses marketing similar to Lagex and it somehow becomes a matter of irony?

Wut.

LoL and its creators are bad because they are trying to get votes!

I'm voting for Bejewelled because they are too lazy to (beg) ask for votes.

[bleep] OFF HOW ARE U SO [bleep]ING LUCKY U PIECE OF [bleep]ING SHIT [bleep] [bleep] [wagon] MUNCHER

In case of LoL winning:

>Rs advertises the award to win it for 2 years

>The third year other company does the same

>That other company wins

>Only jagex did it the first 2 years

>What if other companies did it during those 2 years?

>feels bad man

In a nutshell if you still don't get it.

tumblr_m6mcuojTED1qlz68ro1_500.gif

......It's still not irony.

Now, if noone voted because Lagex wanted them to (as some of you have stated your intention), that's irony. They are shoting themselves with their own gun. But another company using the exact same tactic, that's nothing but business.

All you've done is described an alternate reality based on what might have happened had LoL (others) used marketing like J previously. Which, well, they should have.

As a footnote, where are those who stood against Jagex's use of marketing now standing when it comes to LoL doing the same?

Are LoL the devil too?

Irony: Situation in which there's a discordance between what happens and what was meant to happen.

Sequence of events, which's progress leads to a humorous or sarcastic end compared to how they were meant to happen.

As for using marketing, I think most people, including myself, only mentioned that because other games didn't use it while Jagex did. Now another company uses it and the result automatically varies. I think you are mixing things up a bit. A company marketing does not makes them evil, the matter of cause is not even discussed here, what I meant was what jagex did and how they achieved the award before, that has absolutely nothing to do with their reasons to win it, you're implying that just because I said how jagex achieved the award, I will automatically think the same about other companies that do the same, where yet again, their reason wasn't really brought to discussion. However, now even conditions are met by more than one nominated games. People didn't stood against jagex for that, they were just saying how jagex achieved it before, whatever you think about them deserving that award or not, that's your opinion and only yours, so keep it to yourself as I will keep mine for myself.

tumblr_m6mcuojTED1qlz68ro1_500.gif

Actually, the "is LoL the devil" was not directed at you, it was a statement to those who had previously said that they would NOT vote for Jagex because they were percieved to be begging for votes (which, is, to my understanding, standing against them for using the tactic). "As a footnote" was included to remove that section of the post from where I was addressing you, nothing else.

Now, the irony bit, as much as I'd love to get into an argument of semantics regarding misinterpretations, being that I've been labeled a troll and have a target on my back, there is no point going further, because my post will be edited and I'll undoubtably be modsticked.

[bleep] OFF HOW ARE U SO [bleep]ING LUCKY U PIECE OF [bleep]ING SHIT [bleep] [bleep] [wagon] MUNCHER

Oh... well that's plain dumb, if you wanna advertise or not that's your problem lol. They did asked for votes and won, twice, but then again, nobody really cared about that award and in my personal opinion (and I think you will agree with this), I do hate watching them bragging about it as if it was a big deal and rubbing it on everyone's faces, like if others cared at the time. Now that another game cares, the thing automatically changes, that's the part I find incredibly hillarious, how much you wanna bet they will be like "meh, it wasn't a big deal" if they lose.

tumblr_m6mcuojTED1qlz68ro1_500.gif

It's a trophy that some people might be won over by. Similar to any awards that businesses hold up high (that are won in popularity contests). Joe the Plumber sees "most popular f2p game" and either thinks "so what" or goes and plays it because of that (lets face it, a large proportion of consumers are pretty easily won over). If LoL wins (or anyone else for that matter) I'm sure they'll advertise the fact they did as well, because as well as being a potential customer grabber, it's also recognition for the employees of their hard work not being completely a waste.

That said, I couldn't a give a [bleep] who wins. I'm not railing against Jagex, but I'm not gunna sit here and call from the buildings that you should vote jagex, because in the long run, well, I just don't care enough.

What the...? Did you not read a damn thing I typed out? Runescape was not going to win this year PERIOD, and it not winning has little to do with LoL advertising people to vote for them. Runescape was not going to win because the Runescape playerbase as a whole wasn't going to vote for Runescape as the best free game and, indeed, had been voting against Runescape long before the LoL playerbase began voting for LoL. If you don't get any votes, you're not going to win. You're here trying to make it seem as if Runescape isn't going to win because RG mobilized their fanbase and ran some kind of voting campaign to "upset" Runescape or whatever. That has nothing to do with anything. Furthermore, you have very little proof that in a straight vote between Runescape and LoL's where both player bases are satisfied with their respective games that LoL's would win. Using stuff such as FB, Twitter and YT as an approximate guage of how each would do is faulty. I'd be willing to bet that if WoW was put into the category for best F2P game (since it is now up to a certain level) that it would win, even though LoL's has more followers on FB than does WoW (can't speak about the other two).

I know that you and your buddy Pal are on some kind of anti-Runescape/anti-Jagex crusade, but really. Try harder.
