Tbh, Jagex could've offered easily the bot nuking update as a reward...but they chose not to and demod its own mods who speak out. Good pr eh?

No, they couldn't offer that as a reward, that wouldn't have gotten them the votes, because most - including me, and I (admittedly) assume you - would've taken it the same way as every other anti-bot notification put out by Jagex in the last however long "Yeah, kguys." Bonus xp - to kill the grind, as mentioned in the other thread regarding possible "solutions" that will prevent bots - would be a much more properous option.

The phrase "attention [bleep]" is thrown around a lot these days...even if he did make genuinely good points, I feel like he rolled right over and caved in.

Well to be fair Jagex really did put out a tremendous effort to oust the bots and it so far remains relatively successful. Jiblix's main concerns were with the lack of Jagex's response to botting.

What I'm taking issue with is that he decided to 'quit' RuneScape under undefined return terms. Now had he left quietly, there wouldn't be a problem. Instead, he chose to make a video, post a thread, and have a party.

 

And now he's back.

 

I can't see that as anything besides waffling. Even if he only left for the bots, there was no reason to overdramatize him leaving the game.

Nobody said he did hate RS. The way you've wrote this you're making sound like it was Jiblix being the reason for the bot issue to be stopped. It wasn't. I didn't see any players cancelling subscriptions in support of her either, at least not on here. I've seen enough of the 'breaking the bots' vid at runefest to see how the company felt about it, not because of any one player.

I don't see why. A lot of his complaints were about bots in the free game, which are, for the most part, gone now.

Some good points, though much of the criticisms apply to all MMOs and video games in general - don't expect virtual rewards to be tangible or lasting.

Tbh, if rs did not have a hiscores system for all players including f2p, I would've never gotten into this game. My first days in f2p consisted of lvling every skill past 30 and checking the hs obsessively. I expected this system to last (at least til the game is utterly dead) and that is why I invested so much time and bought years of membership.

Another fmod, ken genosis, demodded today for speaking out against jagex. Will update with more details as I find them.

 

Update: looks like they've unhidden the thread for now but the mod color is gone...
