4th theory: Deeper Conspiracy (moron8275, neogeo0823)

Demonic symbols in the Wizard's tower, same demonic symbols near chaos altars and Dark Wizard's Tower. Wizard's in the Wizard's Tower are NOT actually followers of Saradomin, and WOM is an agent sent to break up this little conspiracy.

I have no idea if someone posted this or not since the thread is so huge:

If I remember correctly the symbol next to the door of the wizard tower is an Egyptian sacred symbol (an eye?). "Eye of Ra" or "Right Eye of Horus". Ra is the god of the Sun, in Egyptian mythology. And "Horus" is "Ra"'s son.

*The "Eye of Ra" or "Right Eye of Horus" prevents any evil magic/omen/situations. So this is why you find the symbol in Egyptian mummies, to protect them from evil in the afterlife.

I love Egypt history and mythology by the way, :D . Hope this helps.

One of the best thread I ever read. Great effort and execution of this  . You should write a thesis essay about this in my Humanities class lol.

Thank you! anyway,

this has been stated before

I dont think so... after all, remember, the WOM could not be old enought for that, humans can only go so far, I think that the WOm was a Saradomist (sara staff gold trimmed Sara armor etc.) but because he didnt get the money he wanted, began to look around. Because he knows (he is wise after all) that Zamorack is going to fail in the end, Guthix does not offer any monetary gain, and the Kharidian gods mostly involve death etc. Zaros could be his best bet. He was able to contact Zaros/Bob the cat and was given powers, provided he do things that involve research etc to bring him back to power. He used his powers to rob the bank.

Currently he trying to get people/keeping people quiet in his conspiracy.

example: Reldo- practically a library of knowledge by himself, what could he research given the materials?

Zaros (bob) has seen the potential, that is why he invested a huge amount of power into him, but I bet he wants a results, thus the telescope looking to wizards tower. Runes, and huge amounts of them, are required for the various things that Zaros has planned. because zaros has a large amount of influence in the desert and his enemies should delay him/ annopy him or whatever, put up a kharidian symbol in hopes of delaying him.

I also believe that Zaros hates Saradomin for being the brother of Zamorack, and not doing anything to stop him, as opposed to guthix, Guthix is to be assumed to be on par with Zaros or powerfuller, maybe.

zaros??

seems like WOM is gonna go rouge and use magiks, but thats the same possiblity of getting a d-chain from barbarian assault, but somehow.. is WOM a wannabe incarnation of those rs gods? does impossible stuff, uses good magic for bad (sara strike on bank), etc..

1150+ total, 151 questpoints and 76 combat.. is it good? Plz pm me for your thoughts.

agreed, and that just proves my theory on the symbol there in an attempt to stop/delay Zaros. Not to mention the gnomic wizard, all they need now is someone representing Zamorack (gnome=guthix)

Thankyou? no offece, but the only person who the complement can go to is KC because he is the only one who has been here the whole time. (I can get mad really easily if you haven't noticed, but I really need to jsut shut up.)

At any rate. We know humans can live along time because the Gypsy in demon slayer was around when the demon was slain. (3 or 4 generations ago)

What you said could happen, and makes sense. And now he is slowly going around and trying to take away Sara's power.

Also just wondering are you sure that there are no letters sent to Entra?

As far as the gods themselves go, all we really know for sure is that Sara stands for good, Guthix for balace, and Zammy for Evil. We also know that Zammy usurped Zaros. And also Zaros was banished to the abyss. KC knows more, but that is all I can think of for the moment.

Zaros was banished to the abyss, but what if the Zamorack mages accidentally released him, as in when they first tried to open up the Abyss for their runecrafting!

Anyone noticed the new wallpapers? The eyes underneath the desk are too wide to be a penguin. There is usually nothing underneath the desk so I think that is could be the thing underneath the bed.

So the"thing" underneath the bed is most likely a Kaplhite or whatever.

After that they can march over 2 varrock, sneak thu scorpion's pass, take over the desert, go thru the toll gate and wipe out lumby, than march on over 2 draynor and wizzard tower!

but you must remember, the black knights have a huge force under Taverly, in the dungeon. I agree, if they wanted to, they could invade, but what affect would if have on the WOM. Are people sure they follow Zamorack?

Also, they only seem to be scouting Varrock and Draynor. hmmm.... The fortress often loses their knights to bloodthirsty adventuers...

Also, what does Zaros play in the Black knight circle?

Idea:In the Restless GHost Quest... you have to get the skull from the wizard's tower... But when you touch it and skeleton appears (sorry to bring this thing up again  )

1) Someone could have summoned it. The Wizard Leader perhaps?

2) Someone could have put a spell on it. The Wizard Leader is watching it.

3) It's an invisible skeleton... that someone could have made invisible.

Shortly after the introduction of the robbery I did a lot of errands for the WOM and wrote down the letters I got from him (so there might be typo's in them). Here they are.

Letter to brother Aereck, resident priest of Lumbridge

I am pleased to inform you that, following a careful search, the staff of the seminary have located your pyjamas. Before returning them to you, however, they would be very interested to know exactly how these garments came to be in the graveyard. Please pass on my regards to Urhney

*D

(Urhney is the father in Lumbridge swamp that gives you the amulet of ghostspeak during the quest The restless ghost.)

Letter to father Lawrence in Varroc

Despite our recent conversation on this matter, I hear that you are still often found in a less then sober condition. I am forced to give you the warning i gave u at the time: if you continue to indulge yourself in this manner, the Council will have no choice but to transfer you to Entrana where you can be supervised more carefully. I trust you will heed this message.

*D

(When you deliver this message, father Lawrence is drunk.)

Letter to librarian Reldo in Varroc

I have spent many hours pondering the question you asked me in your recent letter. From the results seen so far, this new methods of refining metals from their ores possessed the potential to revolutionize smithing, although i fear that the vast majority of smiths will never fully adapt to the new technique. Please keep an eye out for any documents that might be as interest to me, as always.

*D

(Probably about Blast furnace.)

Letter to Oracle at Ice Mountain:

My sources tell me that many adventurers are becoming confused about one of your riddles. When asked to find a BOWL that not has seen heat, a large number of adventures assume that a POT will suffice. Of course this has no effect, so they sent complaints about you to the Council. Strength through wisdom!

*D

(The oracle is a follower of Zamorak. He tells you about the unfired bowl during the Dragon Slayer Quest.)

Letter to Thurgo, master blacksmith

Following your request, I have spent some time re-reading the relevant scrolls in the library of Varrock. It appeared that when your forefathers encountered that adventurer, he was on a quest to find a mysterious shield. Many thanks for the recipe you sent me; I shall certainly try this 'redberry pie' of which you speak so highly.

*D

(I don't understand this message. Thurgo is in the quest The Knight's sword and in the quest The giant dwarf, but those are about a sword and an axe, not about a shield. In Family crest you speak to the dwarf Boot, not Thurgo.)

Letter to Langley, abbot of the Monastery of Saradomin

Long has it been since our last meeting, my friend, too long. Truly we are living in tumultuous times, and the foul works of Zamorak can be seen across the lands. Indeed, I hear a whisper from the south that the power of the Terrible One has been rediscovered! But be of good cheer, my friend, for we are all in the hands of Lord Saradomin. Untill our next meeting, then

*D

Letter to High priest of Entrana,

Greetings:

In an effort to respond to your recent questions about the effects of summoning the power of Saradomin, I have spent some time searching through the scrolls of Kolodion the battle mage. He records that a bolt of lightning falls from above, accompanied by a resounding crash, and the victim looses up to 20 points of health. However, he believed that this could be increased by 50% should one be wearing the cape of Saradomin and be charged when casting the spell.

Fare thee well, my young friend

*D

(Kolodion is the mage you have to defeat in the Mage arena. This letter is clearly about the spell Saradomin strike.)

I stopped doing errands for the WOM after I got the monster under the bed and the letters started repeating. Alas I didn't write anything about one of the first letters I needed to deliver. That letter was sealed. When I tried opening it, I got a warning. Decided not to open it and just delivered it. On the forums I read that the letter is destroyed when you ignore the warning. Looking back, I now think that the sealed letter is the most important letter for this thread. But I don't remember to which NPC this letter was adressed. Does anyone know?

Hmm if the oracle is a follower of Zamorak, why does the WOM say "strength through wisdom" which is the closing of Saradomin?

Also, for those of you who don't know, if you talk to Bob the cat with the amulet of catspeak, he says something about being "Zar- I mean, meow." So Zaros is in the form of a cat. (or at least according to runehq)

That sounds like The Shield of Arrav. If you read the histories on the main page Arrav lived among dwarves for awhile.

This is suspicious. Why would the staff of a seminary be searching around the Lumbridge graveyard? Surely they wern't just looking for lost PJs! They must have been looking for something else and found them by accident. Of course, why WOM have to send a letter to him at all, unless WOM was involved in this 'seminary'?

Letter to Oracle at Ice Mountain:

This basically proves that the Oracle is a follower of Saradomin, not Zamorak. Only Saradominists use that greeting/closing with each other, I think. And another mention of the Council. Jeez, if we only could find out what this Council is.

Letter to Langley, abbot of the Monastery of Saradomin

I'm pretty sure Terrible One = Zaros. After all, he's been 'rediscovered' in a sense. And 'whisper from the south', the only things south of Draynor are the Wizard's Tower and Tutorial Island. It COULD be the desert, but that's a pretty big stretch.

But I don't remember to which NPC this letter was adressed.

This would be helpful to know, if anyone can find out.

I looked at the new background of WOM on the main site and there is a scale model of the Wizard's Tower on his desk. Right behind it is a floorplan of the tower as well. So the 'tower plan' is still active, apparently.

true about Arrav, does the WOM want the Shield?

And Zaros, now we know, without a doubt (unless there is another terrible one) that the WOM knows about Zaros. My Idea of the WOM being a rogue Sara mage turning to Zaros looks better now!

And what if the Oracle is in on his plot? and Aerack (sp?) and other people, obviosly it has something to do with Crandor (location map shows for quest)

Thus involves that dragon. But its weird, how did all those monsters get there in the first place?

Uh...what? Why would he call his god a 'terrible one'?

But really, a group of devout Saradominist theologians go snooping around a cemetery, carefully searching for lost pajamas? That throws up a lot of red flags. Surely they were looking for something else. Since it was in the Lumbridge cemetery of all places, it seems to me it had something to do with the ghost from the Restless Ghost quest. Do they want to steal the skull again and put it back in the basement of the Wizard's Tower? And it seems that these people reported to WOM what they had found, since WOM had to notify Aereck of his mising pajamas. WOM must know about what they did, what they were REALLY looking for, and what, if anything, they found.

It seems odd that a group of people from a seminary, therefore being well-educated religious scholars, would go out into a cemetery and search for anything at all. That should be a job for less-educated "grunts". I'm starting to believe that these people weren't from a seminary at all, and that 'seminary' is just a cover word for something else.

Either that or he reall did leave them in the graveyard. Something's starting to take some shape here. Maybe the seminary staff was doing something in the graveyard and Aereck went out to see what was going on, the staff saw Aereck and tried to grab him, but Aereck slipped out of his pajamas and ran for it, like in the gospel of Mark.

Hmm...maybe the 'seminary' was conducting some meeting in the graveyard.

P.S. THank you Quantumkik for the letters.

Aereck is the priest in the Lumbridge church. Urhney is the guy that's meditating in the swamp.

I think it's about time I do some radical thinking, because everytime I do this topic seems to grow by leaps and bounds.

First Radical Idea: The Seminary is an organization that is the rival of the society that meets in the basement of the Wizard's Tower. WOM seems to work in close connection with them, they were at some point in the Lumbridge graveyard, where the skull from the Restless Ghost quest is, which was found in the basement of the Wizard's Tower. Why else would the skull be down there at all? Because whoever is in the Lumbridge masoluem is/was of extreme importance to the Seminary. The person might have been the founder of the Seminary, a benefactor, or somebody else of importance. The society in the basement went into the masoleum, stole the skull of this esteemed Seminarian, put it on the Saradomin altar in the Wizard's Tower basement, and created a skeleton to guard over it. This might also be why WOM dislikes the wizards in the tower so much, because he's a Seminarian. After all, the "staff of the seminary" had to inform WOM of finding Aereck's pajamas; this would place WOM in a position of leadership in the organization. It's possible that the Seminarians saw Aereck and considered him a threat, but Aereck doesn't seem like a threatening type. He's kind of meek and ill-informed, in my opinion.

I noticed in WOM's letter to the high priest of Entrana, he closes with "fare thee well, my young friend." I wouldn't think of a high priest being a young person, but older and more educated/experienced. This has to have some significance.
