Wat about Maelofous Mortifour?

He seems 2 be practicing Summoning alot, is short tempered(turned me into a fungi more than once) and walks arond in all black.

Hope I helped

-Demonator52

Technicaly he doesn't summon he practices necromancy. (In one of the earlier posts this is discussed.)

As far as connections to the WOM go... The WOM knows he is there. (the swan song quest) As far as his allegiance to any one god... I don't think he has any.

Also Fluffy please don't see this as me being an old scrooge, I am just debating your points. (just in case you did)

Actually I was looking into some of that stuff also... The first conclusion I draw is that his most important god is money, then Saradom.

Here was a picture from the book that I found iteresting...

well, from that letter signed *D it seems he is either an ex entrana monk or intercepting their mail. He seems to have a particular desire to summon the evil chicken, and I have seen bob the cat, normal not evil in the wom's has a million times over in world 24. I think saradomin is important to him as it was the only spell he could proparly master. and that although he worships zaros, it is frowned upon so he hides it. He lives near aggie the witch so if he wanted to be the only magician left he would have to kill her. Also, to prove the monk theory he gives out herbs and prayer xp. I think he might want to be a nature spirit hence all his nature runes he gives out, will post more later

Yes it is.

Why I pointed this out is that if you notice it says that the evil chicken was summoned by a mage...

I noticed that. It doesn't say what became of the mage, though. Maybe summoning has actually been around for a long time but is now kind of a "lost art." I was thinking back to the God Wars and I was wondering if the each side's army was made entirely of summoned things. They couldn't have used mortals as their soldiers, because a war that destructive would have cleaned out the mortal population forever. And it lasted 4000 years, so any war that long would have killed off everything. That makes me believe that each god just summoned up an army and fought. Humanity was caught in the crossfire and could barely survive. It would have been a stalemate obviously, since no side would ever run out of soldiers, so the only way it could have ended was with Zamorak killing Zaros.

There has always been something bugging me about the bank robbery. The recent revival of this thread finally gets me to post my completely different theory: the WOM didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t rob the bank at all! Sure, we all saw it in a recording, but that could be a fake. Clues that point in that direction:

- Robbing the bank just doesn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t fit into what we know about the WOM. The letters you have to deliver as errands for him, show that he is an important and respected man, not the kind of guy who suddenly decides to rob a bank. Why does he help out in the Swan Song quest if nowadays he̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s only interested in money?

- The players in the recording don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t exist and are quite unbelievable (a lvl 27 wearing a legends cape?).

- Where is the surviving bank woman? When the guard told me about the bank robbery for the first time, he said she was transferred to another bank. I went to that bank to find her, but I could talk to none of the bankers there about the robbery (that was ages ago; now I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t remember what bank it was). .

- Olivia says that she didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t see who tele-othered her to Falador. So the robber could have been someone else, who has been replaced by the WOM on the recording. Or the WOM just teleported her out to prevent her from seeing what really was going to happen inside the bank after he broke the wall. (Why didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t he just kill her? He didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t mind killing players and bank staff.)

- Why didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t they arrest the WOM? There is plenty of evidence: the recording, the party hat on the WOM̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s head, the gold in his house, and his own confessions: he admitted it in his book and in his postbag letter, and he tells it to all players who ask about the bank robbery.

- When the Swan Song quest was introduced, it said in the News: ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åallegations of his involvement in a spectacular bank robbery have never been substantiated̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

@ quantumkik:

That's really an interesting theory, but the biggest arguement against it is that WOM is now very wealthy and wearing a party hat, and he admits it if you talk to him. But why nobody has openly accused him of robbing the bank (except Miss Schism) is pretty weird.

But after looking over your theory again, it doesn't seem very unreal at all. I'm convinced he DID rob the bank, but for reasons that your theory contains. It's possible that his "heist" was a conspiracy made up by the bankers to have the bank get robbed and get insurance money for it. If you think about it, he really didn't have to kill all those innocent bystanders. If he were just robbing the bank, he knew there was a security camera, so it's not like a few more witnesses would have harmed him. Maybe the bank got WOM to rob the bank and get money for insurance. That banker at the end that he didn't kill was probably in on it, helping WOM get part of the money into his house and the other part to the leaders of the bank. That would explain why he destroyed the security camera when he did, so it could see him breaking and entering but not the actual robbery. The whole thing seemed really theatrical; WOM making all those comments to make it seem real, that security guard that comes in towards the end and tells WOM that he's under arrest - WOM just does a little damage to the guard, then kicks him, and the guard still has about 3/4 health left and he just falls over, like a stormtrooper effect!

So, my thinking is that the female banker helped WOM remove the money from the bank, but that part wasn't seen on the video to protect her, then afterwards the leaders of the bank transferred her somewhere else to keep her safe (or keep her from talking). Now she's nowhere to be found, conveniently. If (if) WOM gets arrested the bank can use its leverage to bail him out, and he can go on like normal.

I was wondering if anyone knows any history on melzar. I was thinking and I belive that malignius mortifer appered about the same time as the WOM which could mean there connected somehow. And malignius mentions melzar as a necromancer whos been transformed into his current state by a misfired spell.

Also someone said that the WOM has 2 gods. first money (gold) and second saradomin. I would submit his veary unique armour as evedance of that (if you dont know its gold trimmed saradomin armour or a cross of rune (t) and sara armour).

Some things I've been thinking about.

Miss Schism: Schism means 'split'. Jagex just doesn't pull its names for NPCs out of thin air, so I think it's an indicator for something deeper.

"Allegations of his involvement in a spectacular bank robbery have never been substantiated." 'Involvement?' That's a little suspicious, if the bank robbery was in fact a one-man job like people seem to claim.

Jagex comes in just in time with another behind the scenes.

"In our second quest this month, Larry the zoo-keeper will need your help. He, like the rest of the adventuring community, knows there̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s something not quite right about those shifty, beak twitching, fish guzzling penguins. He, too, has seen them plotting behind closed doors - always watching, forever watching... But nobody will believe him. He's close to losing his job, but that really isn't what he's worried about, since there won't be a job if humanity falls beneath their evil flippers. No, stop laughing, this is serious stuff! You'll be adventuring north, beyond Miscellania and into the Lunar Sea, building secret bird hides and trying to find out the secrets behind the Cold War. A new Agility course and some of the funniest animations we have seen will await those who dare challenge the might of these feathered fiends."

Maybe our penguin theories weren't so far-fetched...

Beat me to it! The secrets to penguins, and possibly the Wise Old Man, are now mere inches away. Oh, and I notice they mention Lunar Sea. I presume that is where Lunar Isle is located. And isn't there a type of magic called 'Lunar Magic?' Hmmm, maybe we don't know all Lunar Spells- maybe one of them is a summoning spell? Maybe the Wise Old Man is ordering the penguins to search Lunar Isle and find the secrets of this summoning spell? :-k

Just looking back at the video the people turn into skeletons when they die... Just like the elemental mages....

Here's a link if you want to download the video of him attacking the bank. For me it helped me to be able to pause it. Here's the link

Hope you don't mind... but I'm not gonna be thinking very much... 3 nights in a row all with less then 3 hours of sleep... I'm not really thinking lately. (I wonder why?)

As far as lunar isle goes... maybe the WOM joined the lunar clan (postbag from the hedge) to spy on the penguins... Maybe he taught the clan some of their spells... (after all his spells do more damage than they should.)

hm.... all this priceless information...that letter Pimmel15 found was explained much:

There are an Council of Saradominists. And they don't like WOM, probably that he found a way to bind Saradomin's power without it's permission, and that's why he makes Council angry.....Or.....H was a member of teh council ( more like a sentitel, or guardian of them, (because he is always wining how he was fighting great dragons and monsters and now he got nothing (until teh robbery), but on the other hand, he could have joined teh council later, when he was older)).

Someone who signed as "D*" obviously has power inside the council. Noticed something: They don't threaten him death, but only moving him to Entrana... There are few ways to explain this:

1. He is too powerfull to be destroyed (sure he is powerful, but not likely THAT powerful)

2. He has knowledge greater then anyoen of them (They are afraid of killing him, and want to get more information before that)

Since i am P2P now i will go and try to find something moer about him...

Note: How you found that letter?

The clock is ticking, and your time is running out, mortals.

Yes, the letter was to the priest.

Just thinking if the WOM is so powerful, and has the power to send people to entra that means that there has to be some society behind it... Also just thinking the Varrock priest isn't exacty your best priest.

Also as far as ties to demon slayer go, maybe the priest is trying to take silverlight?

When the WOM kills the people in the recording the turn into skeletons... like the elemental mages from South Falador next Malignus Mortifier. It is POSSIBLE that the WOM SUMMONED the banker and the characters in the recording.

Wow... I knew they were turned into skeletons, but I never thought about it that way... That would explain why some of the weird things were there... like players not dropping items ect. That would work perfectly with what quantumkik said.
