Investigating the Wise Old Man

The Imcando dwarves were the dwarf tribes that Arrav lived with after he left Avarrocka. I think that was also revealed somewhat in that letter to Thurgo, but more so in the story of Arrav. Speaking of Arrav, I found half of his shield in the Draynor bank yesterday. I showed it to WOM and he seemed extremely surprised, and offered me 3 gp for it. I declined. Maybe I can find the other half somewhere...

A little thing I find interesting. I used some money on the WOM and he said some stuff including "when you have as much money as I do, you realise it dosent really matter(how much you have)" or something like that. So the robery made him pretty rich. (Anyone who has a bath screen gold plated has WAY to much money)

Thurgo didn't always look like a large pile of potatoes. When I did the quest I thought he looked kind of like a regular dwarf. It makes me sad when I go over there and see him, with no beird, and all grayish-looking.

That can't be healthy.

Sorry if this has already been stated i don't have the time atm to read through all of this, but some small pieces of information that may or may not come in useful.

- With the release of the new "What lies beneath" quest, it is discovered a group of Zamorak followers called the Dagon'hai have know and possibly utilized the chaos altar, i did not read much into this quest as i was once again in a hurry, but further research could possibly lead to some useful information (but this does mean zamorak mages knew of runecrafting)

- Also i remember reading in RuneScape lore/history about Arrav a hero of varrock (Same person from shield of Arrav). I don't know what relationship there could be between these 2 but they are both refered to as might heroes at some point and this is at least somethign to go on imo.

EDIT: Just had a quick look at Arrav stories and there should be a part 3 to it but is obviously not ready yet

As t3h points out, the new quest dose indeed mean that the zamakorian mages know of runecrafting, and since they seem to have a tunnel going to the alter they have likely known about runecrafting for a fairly long time. Assuming the tunnel has been there since the time our charecters were created (pretend that all charecters are created a a set time in the games history) then the zamakorian mages have known longer than the modern day regular mages because it is our charecters that finaly make runecrafting possible.

However it would still seem that the WOM does not know of runecrafting.

And yes, when I did the knights sword quest, Thurgo had not yet been changed into the npc with the widest/bigest "width to height" ration in the known world.

Hey KC which half do you have? I tried offering him one of my halves and he said I should keep it.

Just a thought, when Diosis (Or whatever the WOM's real name is) was young didn't he desecrate a temple of Zamorack in Varrock?

I don't know what half it is. It appears to be the left half, but Wenlok found another half and tried to put them together, but it didn't work. Maybe he got the same half? I don't know. I had forgotten that the halves weren't identical.

Yeah, he desecrated the temple in Varrock. Why?

Zybez has a good WOM page, on the stuff you have to do for him, like letters, etc. Also, it has a tome archive, I'll see if I can find a book on WOM's life... He grafittied the varrock Zamorack temple, took on hordes of trolls, learned incredible magics, helped the northern tribes and became legend, ventured into high level Wilderness using the cave under entrana... thats basically all... no wait, he was also supposed to be a priest, but declined to travel the world first.

Yeha, theres more... copy/paste link to URL area thingy... http://www.zybez.net/tomes.php?id=44

Oka, Ijust read the tome, and it seems very plausible that he is the son of Saradomin.

However, I'm going to present a new side to this theory:

The WOM, Arrav, and possibly the Six Barrows Brothers, were are all composed of a race greater than Humans. This race would be created as a hybrid of Humans and some higher being (whether it be god, majjaratt, or anonther supernatural race). Notice that they all acomplish feats unimaginable for a normal human, Arrav and WOM even did them at very young ages.

On a different note: What do you think that bent old man that brought about the end of the Barrows bros. was? I feel that he was a Majjaratt (Zemourgal (sp?) would be my first guess).

Hi again, I'm back... just did Mourning's end part II, didn't notice anything WOM related though there were some symbols in the walls (not the Falador stone symbols).

But I did notice that swirly symbol on the wall in taverley dungeon at the door to blue dragons.

That's the big plot, to make way for the "Dark Lord" to come to runescape, but in the quest, they had discovered The Temple of Light deep in the mountains and tried to find it. Their investigation team had actually found the entrance to the temple (actually an ancient elven temple) but had been killed by shadows.

The temple's safeguards had failed and I had to put 'em back on.

Also the quest is annoying, took me 3 hours and 20 minutes to do it with tip.it guide.

I think there was something else but I seem to have forgotten.

Dark Lord is an odd name for Zamorak. Zaros was often referred to as the Empty Lord, but I've never heard any other phrases for Zamorak before. Is the Plague City series 'finished' with ME pt2, because it seems like there's going to be more.

It actually sounds more to me like Sauron from the Lord of the Rings. Or possibly Morgoth, who was the first Dark Lord as such. They could be using both stories, as RuneScape does take shape and size from several fantasies. I think we will also hear Zamorak being called the Chaotic Lord, amongst other things. Mournings End part 2 could possibly be a WOM quest, though I doubt that as it seems more concerned with Zamorak.

So were you under attack the whole time while you were re-aranging all those liught beams?

Not really, no. Since I'm so good, I just killed the shadows. They can't attack me when their dead, right?
