What level character do I roll?

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

Question for Wyvren: There isn't a metamagic rod of Rime Spell in the core rulebook, but I was wondering if

 

a) They would be allowed

b) If their cost would be the same as the other metamagic rods for metamagic feats with (+1) to spell level. This would be 3000 gp for lesser version. [same format as the others]

c) I could purchase them as part of my WBL (perhaps it is rare in these lands, but not in the frozen north)

I would assume that we don't get to spend the money we have before the first session, correct?

On a semi related note, we now have a party made up of:

 

what ever the hell icu makes (icu)

A warforged fighter who takes the "kill 'em all let the gods sort them out" approach (ross)

A winter witch (retech)

A summoner (nex, if he ever gets back)

An infernal sorcerer who acts the part (grim)

A gnomish ninja (arch, I think)

A thief (mask)

Yep, there's no way we're not going to get some sort of group of paladins/adventurers following us after a few more islands, trying to track down the bastards who burnt down their town.

 

 

I look forward to a group of paladins chasing us. We are mostly of the tavern good or tavern neutral alignments, so their smite abilities do not work, and they are bound by their strict codes. I'm more concerned about bounty hunters using some underhanded tactics.

Perhaps now would be a good idea to arrest (try to) Jen and the Hippogriff...

 

...Jen seems like the sort of character who will betray us if we just let her/him wander off...

When we are finally tracked down I don't really want 'Drugging and Mind Control' to feature on our warrents for arrest.

 

 

As for the Sorcerer...

 

Grim, can you tell me the full story (Or authorise Wyvern to send me a transcript, edited if you so wish), but basically I want to know we are actually facing.

 

Then, Wyvern, I would like to make a +12 Linguistics check, +4 for having a sample of the autograph, and +8 (or +8) for having seen the specific type of order before (Since we were already granted amnesty once before), so +16/+20/+24 overall, to forge papers of temporary respite on condition of recovery of artifacts deemed neccessary to the defence of the realm, specific to Martel.

 

I would imagine this contradicts orders, and the examiner would be familar with the handwriting, though the type of document would not be well know but somewhat known of, since I don't imagine the Prince hands them out willy-nilly.

So the check to discover the deception should be at +4+their mods.

Unless we don't have those orders to make the copy from, in which case there is a -2 mod since the order type is unknown to the paladins as well.

 

That should resolve the situation should events transpire against us....By and by these documents will be held by Martel, not I.

 

Given that we already used the stunt once to escape the Island originally there will probably be other mods at work as well.

Also, we may simply be arrested for fleeing the Island...in which case fortifying the ship may be a good idea.

Wyvern can send you a transcript, all that I can remember about the female sorcerer (if that's what you're talking about) is that she specializes in conjuration. If it occurred after we broke into the crypt I wouldn't know though, I was without internet for that time period.

 

EDIT: Oh and you really don't want me to be the one to deal with the paladins, as I would appear on their evildar (whee LE alignment) though I may be able to talk my way out of the situation if the need arises. (Hell, one of my traits might prove useful, power of suggestion and all that)

I just realized I had protection from good on my spell list too, never though that I would need that spell (or at least that I would quite possible be using it on party members).

 

EDIT: Oh that, we firebombed the wizards store with ~10 flasks of alchemist's fire, only one of them hit which was put out by the wizard; the rest of the flasks missed and we may or may not have hit a couple of civilians (and other buildings, twas carpet bombing).

I understand that much...Its more that they will have divined exactly what happened, so we need to make sure we know exactly what happened so we can counter them.

 

Eg. If you were the one dropping the flasks, or if it was Retech, or both of you.

Yes, that would be wise. They would only send progressively stronger paladins to hunt us.

 

I propose that we leave them in a comatose state, bound and gagged, waiting to be found by patrons on market day.

As far as I remember I was the one who threw the packages, but I would have to see the transcripts again (Jen was needed to steer the hippogriff). If they come too quickly, take the boat out and I'll escape myself (invisibility and fly work quite well together).

Hmm, I have an idea, they will most likely be looking for me and me only (hopefully) so you lot will not be detained (most likely); ideally I would cast invisibility and then fly, and then flee on foot before having a roundez-vous with you people. To that purpose I will use locate object to find the hip again (and return to the ship under cover of invisibility). That would be the easiest way (assuming that they aren't using scrying to follow me, if they are that complicates things (and necessitates some more scrolls)).

Hey all, for the session on the 15th I won't be here. Have asked Wyvern to rearrange for Saturday, Monday or some such, so if anyone has any day they would prefer (Or if people can't make it on other days, then I will just have to not be here)

 

Also if anyone wants to offer to be my Archi (The person who takes control of your character when you are not there) please let me know. My character is a little strange (Ok, very strange) but playing as him is fairly straight forwards.
