BXPW - Prayer / Herblore

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

A quick question: I'm planing on getting sum, herblore or prayer up during the bxpw.. now, as summ only gives u flat x1.1 i wont really do it during the first few hours, so it leaves me with herb and prayer.

If i train prayer with d bones or skeletal wyvern bones or frost bones (i'll probably go with d bones, since i'm kinda short on money :D), on my guildet altar with both lighters lit, do i get both the bonuses, like the bonus

of the lit lighters AND the bonus of the bxpw? or can you only train prayer by burying bones this weekend?

oh and regarding herblore: how much would 73-92 cost? about... i guess buying unfinisheds would rock pretty badly, wouldn't it? =)

Thanks alot for any help!

No, if you use bones on an altar you will only get the bonus xp weekend xp (less than the normal 3.5x multiplier). It's an extremely bad idea to train prayer on the bonus xp weekend.

Herblore is a good thing to do, count on 40m+ for supplies if you want a decent speed.

"decent speed" would mean buying the best possible unfinished pot + seconds?

everyone knows that the bonus Exp doesnt stack with guilded altars and other exp bonuses.....

Can we make a sticky every six months or so, this question gets asked 10-12 times every BXPW?

One of the main reasons why this topic was posted was to clarify whether or not the bonuses stack. This is the help and advice forum and the OP came here to get help. The rest of us should be here to give useful advice to the OP and promote a helpful community environment, not make him feel stupid.

The sticky may actually be a good idea, jagex has this posted on their site but what does and does not work with bonus exp weekend is on a separate link. I think the frequency of the question asked stems from this.

OT: train herblore until you have a 1.1 multiplier, use up all of charms, then go back to herblore until the weekend is over.

Either the best possible or the most cost efficient. You can check grimys spreadsheets for which potion is most cost efficient. The xp multiplier from BXPW will not change the most efficient way to train as all methods will gain the same boost. I personally used anti fires to 81, saradomin brews through 95, and have then prepared 1k extreme sets + 1k torstols to use over the BXPW. make sure that you have bought the dungeoneering reward scroll for herblore. I always bought unfinished potions instead of WFV and herbs.

The XP weekend favours faster, more expensive potions as gp/xp is reduced and xp/hr increased. Brews are (tied for) the best from 81-84 or so, after that extremes. Before 81, super defence is a nice potion for xp weekends because it has virtually no resale value, meaning you can bank everything you need beforehand.

I agree we are here to help people, but people keep asking this question every BXPW. we get at least 10 of these does BXPW stack with _____ Prayer altars, SC, etc....

We all know the answer is no, it has always been no, and it is factual. It is frustrating to see the same question, that is factual, being asked over and over.

It sounds like JAGEX somehow doesnt make it clear, but I am pretty sure in the BTS it says at the bottom that it doesnt stack with other exp boosters, so I dont get why people keep asking

There is no help or advice. This is like someone asking how much exp do I get for burying a dragon bone.....

There has to be a way where we dont have to get a dozen of these questions every BXPW....

Or we can just tell them again, maybe direct them to the DevBlog or something. That's the whole point of the Help & Advice forum, right? :)

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

but it isnt help or advice, it is telling them something that is already known. Like I said, this is the same as asking how much experience do I get for burying a dragon bone. We all know the answer and it is found easily.

I am not sure why we get so many of these same questions. There is no help or advice to offer... We are just relaying the facts which everyone should already know.

I am trying to figure out why we keep getting them....

Also I have no idea what this question is asking." i guess buying unfinisheds would rock pretty badly, wouldn't it? =)

ROCK??? does that mean cost a lot, would getting that level "rock" as in would be be cool or make a big difference????

I mean if we limited the help and advice to questions that are only asked once, there would be no reason for the help and advice to exists.

There are a few questions being asked over and over:

-how to make money?

-how to dungeoneer?

-what are good slay tasks?

The whole point of H&A is to get answers to questions that you may have.

Regardless of if they're easy to answer or not.

Nobody is asking you to reply to a question, and if you're getting frustrated - just let them do what they think is best.

---

TBH, lots of people ask easily answerable questions.

Even you - you asked what tree seeds you could plant, where to plant them and how much exp they gave.

You couldn't figure out to look up the farming guide, look at the location of the patches and multiply the exp they give for checking health by 2.7?

Are you trying to say that this couldn't be answered via google?

That it could be counted as help or advice? When all it warranted was: Tip it>Skill Guides>Farming? Followed by simple multiplication?

"everyone knows" and then you say "this question gets asked 10-12 times every BXPW".

Clearly not everyone knows.

We seriously need an FAQ here. Frequently asked questions. The problem is, people as a whole would rather someone do things for them then look up information themselves. This extends far beyond the scope of RS.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.
[spoiler=The rest of my sig. You know you wanna see it.]

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.
