Usually I put some "softer" songs to mp3 songs for warm up and "heavier songs" for the actual training.

Here's my yesterday's playlist.

warm up:

Megadeth - Tornado of Souls

Manowar - Fighting the world

Timo Kotipelto - Metanol man (klamydia cover)

actual training:

Gorgoroth - Under the pagan megalith (demo)

Mayhem - Carnage (Live from Leipzig version)

Urn - Spirit of Chaos

Urn - earthly damnation

Urn - Rise of necromancy

Deicide - Oblivious to evil (from When Satan lives album)

worked fine :)

Death From Above 1979 - Blood On Our Hands

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Suck My Kiss

Nine Inch Nails - Wish

Marilyn Manson - The Fight Song

Rammstein - Mein Teil

Tool - Aenima

Faith No More - Get Out

Machine Head - Imperium

Pantera - Cowboys From Hell

They're all fairly heavy, and some of those are incredibly fast. Should be good for getting pumped up for a sporting event too.

Yeah, I think so. That whole station was just the Scarface soundtrack.

I am toying with the idea of playing this every morning in my car on the way to lectures. Excellent montage music.

Ugh...At the school gym (an incredibly huge and well-equiped gym, and cheap to use too) they repeat the same 1 or 2 CD's every single day ad nauseam. They seem to play all the music of Rocky, then some old, terrible 80's music like Dee Sniper and Def Leppard, then about half and hour of AC/DC...It really breaks my motivation, and in grade 10 was probably the second best reason why I didn't work out all year (the first reason was I didn't want to).

And the thing is I can't put anything I want on because all the other people would get mad...Plus the gym is connected to the weight room, so they want music too...

At the gym I go to the administrators have a penchant for gangsta rap, so it's all "itch" this, n-word that and hoe the other.
Wow such amazing lyrics. So moving and emotional.

I've always like Insomnia, by Faithless for running to, that and various other techno songs with a good beat to them.

Children by Robert Miles could also come under this category.

Back when I used to run, my weapons of choice were

-Til' I collapse - Eminem (really pushses your stamina to the limit, invokes the 'I haven't collapsed of exhaustion therefore i must not be working hard enough' mind set.)

- Numb/encore - Jay-Z Linkin Park (amazing running song, the kind of synthesised violins REALLY energise you, its amazing.)

- Roll Call - Lil Jon (kind of gets you ready to either fight (used to listen to it before Sunday League Football 8)) or push yourself to the limit)

And I'm serioulsy thinking about getting my college mates to send me some music from Atl's list, and just go for a run, with no checking it out before. I imagine music like that would really make me go crazy and kind of keep my adrenaline pumping, even though i dispise most metal ( I assume it is metal, I'm a rock-n33b)
