MaetNameno
Would it be a better idea to get all my stats to 50 and just go up from there. Or 99 one at a time?
Jruskey2013
Depends what you like better. Fast levels, or grinding.
Sinkhan
If you get any of your skills to around 50, I recommend you get summoning to 52. I think you'll unlock more quests and potentially useful things and the like while you get 50 in all skills. In addition to that, you'll also get a better taste of what skills you really hate and which ones you'll want 99 in eventually. Troacctid
Would it be a better idea to get all my stats to 50 and just go up from there. Or 99 one at a time?Definitely the first one. Getting everything to 99 one at a time is a pretty horrible strategy in general: slower, weaker, and less fun than staying more balanced. You want to be able to do quests, for example. Lose No Hope
Keeping your skills balanced is much better and much more useful. A goal you could set after 50+ is to get all the quest cape requirements. It gets all stats to a decently high level and you unlock a ton of content. Urza285
Try going by 10's. Once you get to 70 you should go by 5's. Don't worry if a few skills lag behind for whatever reason. Don't feel bad if you leave skills behind because once you are close to maxing you'll be surprised as how a skill like hunter becomes something of a relief. This is my current situation with everything pretty much 95+ and and the easiest skill to leveling being hunter. Fallstar
I recommend going for milestones. I went for all level 50 skills, and am now aiming for all level 70. Keeping stats balanced gives you more level ups and more rewards than picking off one 99 at a time. Although after all skills level 70, I do plan on getting at least one 99. Powerfrog
Neither. Just go for what you need at the moment. Getting all quest requirments and various item requirments is a great way to start, as you can get the quests out of the way (Most of which reward you in some way, often in XP or new ways to get XP) and you can be confident that all your skills were meaningful, even if you don't like the skill. You could even do a hybrid of what I said and doing this as well. Had a started playing runescape during these days I probably would have done exactly this... Sooo many quests and activities that require skills. Maxed [February 14, 2012] | Completionist [October 25, 2012] | Trimmed Completionist [in Progress]Visit my Blog! MaetNameno
Yeah I think I'll just balance out for now. As for quest requirements, I absolutely HATE quests. I just can never find the patience for them.

I personally didn't have the patience to do barrows runs having to take ridiculous long routes to get to it every time.
