anyone ever try to make a pure prayer account, like for the fun of it?

For combat 9, you need either:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

* 2 attack or strength levels

 

 

 

* 2 defence or hitpoint levels

 

 

 

* 3 prayer levels

 

 

 

* 2 magic levels

 

 

 

* 2 ranged levels

That could be rather difficult. You'd have to at least encompass some melee skills and ranging skills or it would take too much time and money to be worth it. Of course, if you have a lot of resources and are just doing it 'for the fun of it', then it might be slightly easier (Since you're not using the account for anything else.)

i did have a character with 1 1 1 and like 26 prayer, but then i gave up on him.

A level 8 with protect from melee, that would be great entertainment in the wilderness! Woot I almost would like to do it myself, to hear all those pkers scream in amazement how the level 8 is a prayer noob :lol:

Its about 50k exp to 43 prayer, which is 700 dragon bones.

It's around 3333 big bones, which costs around 1 million gp. Well, I'm sure someone finds it worth this money (but I'm not one of those ;))

Or you could just go to the chaos alter and collect 450 inventories of bones and bury them.

AFAIK, the tip.it calculator isn't based on an actual formula because the formula isn't known, so it's based on statistics of players, right? Are the statistics for the pure prayer case actually correct in the calculator, so will someone with 1 att/def/str, 10hp and 43 prayer really have combat level 8?

You don't have to spend a penny I guess... Just walk around the graveyard in wildy and pick up bones all the time. There are big bones too, all you gotta do is watch out the skellies don't beat the juice out of you :lol:

Pure Prayer is pointless unless your rich and have nothing other to do. My friend made a pure prayer file, got to 43 prayer then couldnt take being so weak so he trained strength.

well i just started a pure prayer account and trained it to lvl 10 prayer in about a half hour picking bones. :D

Proof of a level 8, 43 prayer (full protects) is one thing, but the question is then how well a practical "Monk Pure" would stand up in combat (wielding an appropriate mace) - and the main limitation, how long does protect from last.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'd say the only way to play a Monk, is as a melee fighter, since the items (F2P) would be cheap Iron full helm and kite (do Doric's and Knights sword for mining and smithing, and be able to make. craft up to the level for holy symbol, take robes). Buy appropriate mace, and keep it when skulled by careful timing of "protect item" - PKers will HATE YOU!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I suppose you could mage or range as a Monk, but you lose the ability to operate as effectively a 1 itemer.

According to that website, all protection prayers drain 1 prayer point per 3 secs (without prayer bonuses), so without monk set you can have protect from melee on for a little more than 2 minutes, assuming you have 43 prayer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And a good way to get 43 prayer would be to have your main pick up b bones in wildy, and then drop them so your prayer pure can pick them up.
